  1. Don't know what happened this morning, but I had a near total embarassing moment this morning at work! I was running to the restroom, tight, and sweating, praying that I would make it in a stall before an explosion (TMI). Well, I made it in the stall, but it was too late. What was that?!? I thought that only happened to people that get the RnY! Luckily I live close to work and left, showered, and returned. Real Bad :(

I'm glad I live close too. I had to take a shower and change. Horrible~. Pup, it happened to me before too so I thought this wouldn't happen again! Maybe I need to carry around some Imodium AD

Omg. It happened to me the other day. Cheeks tight did not work.. At least I was home when it happened. Well it just did not happen once. I am taking probiotics. Maybe when I eat something that it is not good for my tummy. My stomach rebels and then the explosion happens.

Yea, it may be the veggies that I ate. It's good to know that I am not constipated but to have this is horrifying. What if it would have been while teaching a class or at a meeting...geez!!!

    a streched stomach pouch?

I am 5 weeks out from surgery and there was a time when I felt like my stomach stretched out, but then I found a website about the sleeve that said this doesn't happen until about 6 months to 1 year but never back to the way it was. I am one that have been eating upwards to a cup of food. Not all food, because now since I am on soft solids, I can't eat fish like I used to. So I'm struggling to figure out what I can eat for Protein without starting shakes again. Also, I have slowed down in the weight loss area. When I eat more calories I lose weight but feel guilty for eating more calories. When I eat less, I don't lose. It is such a head trip. However, I have read that everyone stalls around this time, but begin to lose again shortly afterwards. I think if we just don't focus on losing weight and take every day as is, we're gonna come back with some fabulous results. Stay focused and good luck!
  3. I may have to give up Salmon and Talapia for a while. Even moist my baby pouch doesn't like it for now. Grrrrr!!!

Me either I love fish!!! I love all seafood???? I have been dying to get a lobster and cook that up and yum yum!!!

I get so jealous of you people that can have fresh seafood when you want it Pupi! We have to pay so much for things like that. When I used to live in Texas, it was seafood and anything else anytime - miss that!

    3. pupichupi

      pupichupi

Where do you live? Oh trust me the seafood here is not cheap either, I don't get it very often, Shrimp is my biggest expense, I don't live near the ocean where you can get it cheaper? I wish I did, I would have it everyday?

  4. Water keeps my blood pressure stable by flushing salts out of my body and is great for your skin. I believe we also use water to keep our bowels moving well and is the first thing to do if you feel hungry, however, drinking water for hunger has never helped me. I have to eat something.
  5. I am ready to crock pot a pot roast with a side of boiled cabbage and mashed potatoes! I'm having fun testing out my soft-solid pouch!!!

Good Girl, experience new things its the only way your going to know what you can and can't do???? Thats how I see it. I am very excited every time I try new things and they work out for me. I make this great seafood casserole with haddock, scallops and shrimp and mix it all together with a little crab or lobster stuffing on top and sprinkle it on and bake it, oh yum and fish is so good for you!!!

    4 weeks out-soft solid stage

I had the worst first day on soft-solids. I 'reheated' leftover dinner, which was talapia, quinoa, and greens. I thought I had enough juice from the greens to be alright, but it went down dry and got stuck so I was sick for almost 4.5 hours. Had to leave work and everything. So unless it is freshly cooked, I don't eat it. Whatever you choose to eat, make sure that it is moist as all get out! Your food selection must still be of the pureed type even though it is solids (soft-solids.) Everything that you are getting ready to eat, make sure that it will puree in your mouth and that it is moist going down, otherwise, you will suffer. Not trying to scare you, but I believe if we question before we put something in our mouth OR if we put something in our mouth and chew on it and it doesn't feel moist - DO NOT SWALLOW! Spit it out! That is what did yesterday. I ended up eating only one teaspoon of the potato salad, tested the dark meat chicken for moisture and only ate about 2 ounces of that, then one teaspoon of the spaghetti. Took me 30-40 minutes of testing and spitting to make sure, but it's training me to make the right choice. Good Luck. I'm sure you will find your way!
  7. I have noticed that when I eat more calories and exercise, I lose weight. I think my body is saying...FEED ME SEYMORE! LOL!

    1. pupichupi

      pupichupi

LOL, that is what I have noticed too, I actually had baked chicken breast yesterday a small portion, and some potatoe saled, which was so amazing!!! Also this weekend I tried shrimp, and OMG it was great!!! I could eat about 5 medium shrimp. It tasted so good too!!!

    2. BladeFox

      BladeFox

I haven't ventured to the wild side of eating like you with the chicken breast and shrimp (HA). I have tried chicken thighs and some beef. Beef is a bit harder however, so I have to be careful and everything MUST be moist. Don't want another episode that I had last week. Maybe I will give shrimp a try. Is it broiled or grilled?

    3. pupichupi

      pupichupi

I just did the cooked shrimp that you get in the seafood counter at the grocerie store, didn't do anything else with it, just cocktail sauce and the shrimp!!! I had a bite of my hubbymans steak this weekend, and it was nice and juicy and soft and it just melted in my mouth so I was ok, but if it was tough and hard to chew then I know I would have not had a good time with it?

  8. Resurrection day was beautiful! A wonderful 75 degrees day, a walk for 1.5 hours and family around the traditional dinner fare which I am proud to say I only ate chicken, a tsp of potato salad and some spaghetti. Total, about 1/4 cup of food. I am so proud of myself and this blessed day.

  9. Went to dinner with my family and accidentally sipped water with a straw!!! Guess what? NOTHING! Absolutely NOTHING! No, gas, no heartburn, no air, no nothing~. Now I want to do it again.

    1. Teachamy

      Teachamy

I started ignoring the "no straw" rule recently, with no problems.

    2. JOANNE M HOLL

      JOANNE M HOLL

I use a straw with my breakfast Latte every morning. Why not? Much easier & not so messy. The drink is pre-measured and the calories are logged in on myfitnesspal.com.

    3. pupichupi

      pupichupi

LOL, I drink from a straw all the time with my ice coffee, and I haven't had any problems since about a week out of surgery with straws, I know we aren't supposed to use them but I'm not drinking my ice coffee from a cup?

Apple. Everything else will go except for the stomach. That's the hardest!
  11. Hateration! I hate to say that some people just don't want to compliment you when you are doing well. A 70 lb loss on anyone is recognizable. So don't worry and keep doing you. Congrats!
  12. Great question! I am wondering the same thing and I am going on one month tomorrow. I had an episode just this past Wednesday when food got stuck. I was sick as a dog for almost 4.5 hours. I had heard that it would be 3 months and some have said that it takes a full 6 months to be ready to eat anything in small quantities. Oh well, I know this is for the better and I'm loving my new size already. Good luck in your journey!
  13. This weekend, I am taking my spring clothes out and hanging them up. Since I haven't changed in sizes yet, some of them will probably work, but just to test, I am taking out some of my smaller clothes as well for June and July when I hope to be able to wear them. Excited to try on clothes for fit this weekend!

    1. pupichupi

      pupichupi

I have a stand that I pulled out my some of my size smallers by 1 and 2 sizes for now, cause the size I was and am wearing is starting to get baggy!!! lol, Its crazy!!!

    2. BladeFox

      BladeFox

I actually fit into some of my size 22 clothes and some skinny jeans, so that's great. My regular jeans have that horrible bagginess in the ass that I hate and I keep pulling them up. I have size 18 and 20 clothes to wear for the summer so I'm hoping I can comfortably wear some of those.

    3. pupichupi

      pupichupi

I started in 22's and now down to 20's but I can still fit in some of my 22's you know how some jeans are made all different? Infact I went through all of my cloths yesterday and I found a pair of 22's that are made really small I can't fit into them? I did have to toss alot of cloths though?

  14. I am happy to report that I am back to pureed or super soft foods and will only do those things during work hours. I will begin back on the soft solids on the weekends and evenings.

  15. I always do too much of something while going thru these stages. Today, I had the dumping, throwing up syndrome for almost 4 hours. I had to get my hubby to pick me up and coworker drive my car and get home. Called the nurse and she said that the fish I cooked for dinner last night was reheated and probably got too dry. Still not back to normal.

  16. I love taking walks outside and enjoyed one day last week. Now, it's in the 20-30's again and stuck inside. My Gazelle stares at me, pleading me to exercise on it and I don't have the heart or desire. What can I do to make me love indoors exercise - on that dang Gazelle?

    1. pupichupi

      pupichupi

watch a favorite movie while on it? I don't like indoor exercise either, but sometimes we have to do it???? I don't have any indoor exercise equipment, but I hope to get some when I get a bigger place!!!

  18. Cut my hair shorter. Not because it's falling out, it's been doing that since peri menopause, but because I feel SASSY~

    1. pupichupi

      pupichupi

I have had short hair for a while and it's so much easier to manage, but now I am trying to grow it back. I haven't had the problem of it falling out? I have really thick hair anyway so I don't think that would be a problem anyway???? LOL

  19. Enjoyed a good walk in the sun with my daughter yesterday and woke up with a 2 lb. weight loss this morning. I don't think I've broke the stall, I just think it was the activity. I'll take it however :-)

    1. MrsGloMartin

      MrsGloMartin

yeah I am tracking on the fitnesspal, I didn't know anything about those atkins shakes, they are good? I tried a shake thing from stop & shop yesterday and it wasn't bad, but the thickness is what I think gets me? I am going to definitely do the tuna thing, I love tuna, and any fish. I have to find something more than what I am doing, I get my water in no problem, its just the dang protein? Thanks for the help hun!!!

    2. BladeFox

      BladeFox

Atkins is creamy and you must do tiny sips to get it down. I can only do the Dark Chocolate Royale shake.

    3. pupichupi

      pupichupi

huh, I will look into them!!! I actually got a protein shake down last night, I used more milk than the 8 oz it calls for it made it less creamy, and I was able to get it down, so that was a plus!!!
