  1. My boss scheduled an lunch appointment with another company today and I had been freaking out about it all weekend. So, I told myself that I would order a soup. When we got there, one of the other associates wanted soup as well because she said her stomach was sensitive today...hmmm, I could use that answer from now on, I says to myself. So we ordered the chicken broth soup. When it arrived it had some tomatoes in it and the broth was more tomatoey than clear, so I said a prayer and ate the broth and potatoes only. Doggie Bag for the rest - Whew!~!

Pupichupi, I haven't built the nerve to tell the rest of my staff about it. It probably would alleviate the stress if I would be more open. One of our team members runs off at the mouth so I am bit afraid to share it with her.

Yeah I don't blame you, I didn't tell anyone till after it was done, and then they couldn't really say anything that would change my mind to doing it. In fact the only people that knew was my mom, only cause I needed her to watch my kids and my kids and my hubbyman, and he was going to be the only person that knew till after, but we needed my moms help? We just told his mom, who i am really close to too, but we haven't told any of his sisters or brothers which Im not going to cause it's really a need to know thing, and I am really close to all of them we just don't feel that they need to know right now?

That's what I have been living on the last week. I have one more week of pre-op liquids to go. I just get mine by the quart at my favorite chinese restaurant. Approved by my doctors office, but just eat the broth.

  3. You probably threw up a bit in your sleep. Ewwwweeewwwww.
  4. Made it the first couple of days back at work then got the stabbing pains from the large incision site that some people talk about. BAM! Could barely move. What the what?!? We should talk more about the random pains that everyone experiences post op more because they blindside you.

    So hungry

Wow, that's a long time to have to wait for puréed and solids. Why are they making you wait that long?

    What do i do?!?

I don't know. My surgery was great! I had some minor things that happened, like nausea from the dye that you have to drink, and from another medication that I had to drink, but that was all. I had a private room, with a great medical team that knew their stuff, and some great Nurses. No major pain after surgery only tenderness around the large incision and adjustment to the liquid diet. Let's see, lost 21 lbs in 12 days and can tell that my clothes are getting looser. Everyone is different, but you didn't go through the pre-process for nothing. Sometimes you just need to have a little faith! Good Luck!

    So hungry

This is my third day on the pureed stage and I can say that I am not hungry, just know that it is time to eat. Are you drinking enough liquids? Are you timing meals appropriately, because that has been a problem with me after returning back to work. Are you eating enough? Try the part-skim mazzorella string cheese as your snack. Hang in there, this stage will be over soon.
  8. Back at work and have been coming in early. I had 405 emails that I didn't read when I was on break but had to catch up on so I spent the whole day doing that and an impromptu meeting, plus, taught a class. Can't believe I made it through the entire day!

  9. My husband went out and bought me the Nutribullet. Love it! However, in my haste to eat puréed foods, I made some guacamole and puréed it to death on to be able to only to not even eat one spoonful. Gas too bad. I'll try with just avocados and Greek yogurt only next time.

      Good luck!

  10. I've been cleared for Stage 3 - Puréed!!!!! Applesauce consistency is still liquidy, right?

    1. BladeFox

      BladeFox

No, I have dissolvable stitches. I went to Taco Bell and picked up some pintos n cheese and brought it home, mixed some Greek plain yogurt and silk milk in it. Yum! One more night and you will get your stitches out!

got the staples out today, and my stomach busted open? They didn't put anything back cause it was really red, but he said just to keep it covered and let it heal on it's own. He was concerned cause it was really red, and he said let it drain more, and in a week call him and let him know how it looks if the redness went away then great if not then he wants to put me on antibiotics. I feel like I did when I had my c-section with my youngest and that blew open? God what luck i have with healing? What is Pintos? I have never seen or heard of those? I am eatting scrambled egg whites right now? Yummy!!!

      BladeFox

You probably have very sensitive skin. I wish doctors used more new technology like the dissolvable stitches like I had. That's crazy that they are still using staples. Pintos are beans and you can order it from Taco Bell where they put cheese on it, HOWEVER, it didn't work for me after all. I had too much gas and ended up bloating so much that I couldn't eat a lot yesterday.

  11. Yesterday and this morning I have been just winded walking up and down our stairs. I can only assume it is because on the full liquid stage I am not consuming a lot of food for energy and not getting enough protein. It is somewhat frustrating.

    1. pupichupi

      pupichupi

try adding, I did, and it's the best thing I did, I had an egg this morning with a little chedder cheese on it, omg tasted so good!!!

    12 hours post op.

Congrats and caution! I wanted to work out too when I returned back home, but because of the amount of foods that you eat - barely nothing, and low protein, you may not have enough strength to go on your usual walks or workouts. Good luck on the losing side and take it easy.
  13. I used to wonder why people would ask it they were sleeved or not because they are able to eat more or drink water normally. I am beginning to question my sleeve as well. I am 12 days post surgery and on the full liquid stage. I can eat the puddings, Jello's, yogurts, cream of wheats easily and faster than I have read that I should, plus drink 64 oz in a day. Why is this? I am a bit concerned by this and wonder if I'm sleeved appropriately. I thought I would have these feelings and restrictions from taking in large quantities. Just need to learn from others that this happened to or some wise counsel.

    Cramping with cold water?

Lately, I have been drinking ice cold water because when it becomes room temp I won't drink enough. Can you add a few cubes of ice to the water to see if that helps?

    Hospital Bag

The only things needed was the following: Baggy clothes and slip on shoes to wear to the hospital Chap stick Brush, comb, lotion Toothbrush and toothpaste Cell phone ONLY You leave with the same clothes you come in with. Good luck!
  16. Almost threw up from the taste of sweets in stage 2, full liquid! I can't believe I am whining about this stage with only two more days. At this point, the only thing I want to eat is cream of wheat and drink my water!

    1. pupichupi

      pupichupi

LOL, I been eatting more than just liquids. I am eatting cheese yummy, try it, just make sure it's the string cheese and chew it up alot!!! LOVE IT!!!!

What have you been eating? I am such a miss goody two shoes that I don't cheat or dare do anything outside of what they want me to do. I asked my daughter for a lick of her sour cream potato chip and she denied me. LOL!!! I was so frustrated and mad at her, ha! But I didn't insist. I ate my horrible Jello and Greek yogurt instead.

    The Ghost Sleeve

Kudos to your tenure with the sleeve!!! This liquid stage is killing me, I swear the only sweet thing I will have after stage 2 will be puréed fruit. That taste in my mouth is making me gag. Yep, thought I wasn't sleeved properly because I am getting everything in. Thanks for this reinforcement.
  18. BladeFox

    The Ghost Sleeve

Makes sense, even the healing of the stomach and numbness. I thought something was wrong with me because others that were sleeved around the same time were experiencing not eating enough but I was flying right on through. Thanks big time!
  19. Good job. I like reading about successes in short periods of time but for newbys it good to also hear about your routines and methods of getting there. Something that I have committed to do when my time comes.

    The Ghost Sleeve

Woo, I am so glad that you posted this. I'm a fast eater too, yep gone in 15 minutes flat, so even though the liquid foods are sliding down my throat, I have not felt a restriction. I move to the puréed stage on Thursday. Will I realize the heaviness then?
  21. Congratulations! How often do you exercise?
  22. It's supposed to snow today, so I'll be in the house on my gazelle instead. Got to get down all of my water today. Only drank about 42 oz. yesterday.

my ex's sister who I am still really good friends with moved a couple years ago to Hawaii and she loves it their and so do her kids. I wouldn't mind being on a tropical island all the time?

Everyone tells me that it super expensive to live in Hawaii and can feel claustrophobic but hey to be around the water and fruit that grows in your yard with great weather, who would care.

That's fantastic blade, I wish I could say the same? I have been feeling awful, it's like every other day my fever spikes but last night I wore like 50 pairs of cloths so I'm hoping I sweat it out of me!!! Well good luck chica!!!!

  24. Now since I know the culprit of the heartburn - SPICES~ my next issue is the sweet flavors of everything in the full liquid stage post op. The only thing I want to eat for the next 4 days is Jello and broth. Can't wait to begin the puréed stage!
