NeuroSurgNurse got a reaction from GoldyGirl in REGRETTING.....
ya know, the weird thing is, I don't really have nausea. I can just drink or eat and it comes right back up. I literally will lick the back of my spoon from my Soup, and start having bad stomach pain then I start vomiting again. Today I said " I'm done, I'm done trying to eat.". even though I know that's not the right thing to do.

Thank you Lipsticklady. I might just check into this. MizB I have a follow up appointment this week to see my surgeon again due to the vomiting. I have been keeping a close eye on my symptoms with the electrolytes and all even though they can Chang at the drop of a hat. Iam going to call them Monday to get in sooner. Like everyone, I just wanted to have a smooth recovery and feel good after surgery, but that certainly is not what's happening. Just frustrated....

NeuroSurgNurse got a reaction from Megabuck886 in Nurses- when are you going back to work?!
Well I was planning on going back in 2 weeks but I'm not having the best recovery. I am neurosurgery nurse and I am very blessed with an understanding boss. Most of the sleeve patients at our hospital go back to work between weeks 2-5. I'm kinda a work-a-holic and wanted to get back ASAP, but my body has other plans. lol

oh, my! it IS worth it! I promise! I hope you will soon find a way to keep stuff down. Call your doc again and again till you get to keep your liquids down. You may very well need to get an IV for dehydration. Water is hard to drink for many. sometimes I could only do some watered down crystal light.... good luck!

NeuroSurgNurse got a reaction from Saki in BM? is there anything in there....
    (sleeved 10-9)
Hello all! well this is not a subject you talk about with just anyone!! lol. but I know my fellow sleevers would understand. My pre-op diet was 2 weeks full liquids, then had to do the wonderful bowel prep for surgery (which nothing happened) and now I'm 4 days post op and still have had no BM. Being a nurse I know this should be a cause for alarm and I should start hitting the MagCitrate, however; going this long with no BM you would think I would be uncomfortable/miserable...but... I don't even feel like there is anything in there! I'm not bloated, distended, or feel "full" at all!! I am and have been passing gas so I'm assured there's no blockage. Anyone else have the same issue. I am still very sore from surgery and would like to skip the "bomb" if at all possible to give my stomach a rest. Thanks my fellow sleevers and God Bless!

I found Unjury vanilla to be amazing. i am still having a cup a day 3 months out because it is my favorite protien source and I cannot eat much in the morning. i got a sample from my doctor and perhaps yours has some too. you can add flavorings to it. there are calorie free chocolate syrups out there.
    good luck

NeuroSurgNurse got a reaction from Tamiz1067 in Two days post op
I was sleeved on 10-9-13. I also had the issue with taking in a deep breath. I found that doing the incentive spirometer helped so much. Even though it was difficult the first few tries, as I kept doing it the pain went away. The lungs and intercostal muscles get very lazy after being under anesthesia and we have to "wake" them back up. Also while you are doing this, make sure your are sitting upright and not lounged in the recliner etc. Hope this helps.
