  1. And some of us run AND do yoga! Blasphemers all of us! But seriously that's a very interesting take on it. And the analogies fit nicely with my own personal style. I do yoga AND run, and my eating style is a mix too of paleo/clean eating and other "religions"
  2. Totally depends on you and how much subcutaneous fat you have left and if they do lipo. I lost down to the mid low end of my range and went down to an 18% body fat and so had (needed) no lipo JUST skin removal. I had brachioplasty, tummy tuck and breast lift with augment. My implants weigh about 1.5 lbs total and the skin removed weighed about 5lbs.
  3. They are thinner. If you mix with milk--cow's, almond, cashew, hemp, soy, whatever, it will be thicker but never as thick as the premier. It's one of the reasons I prefer it to the premier...I don't like the thickness. That's why there are so many kinds!
  4. I LOVE the BSN Syntha 6 ones (Mochaccino is my favorite but they are all good) and have them once in a while now that I am in maintenance, but they are a lot higher carb than many.
  5. I love syntax matrix and they have cookies and cream, mint choc cookie and peanut butter cookie!
  6. I know some physicians say only whey isolate Protein.... And it is true it's the most bio available so probably ideal for the early phases (one that adds caesin for later on May last longer in your stomach for satiety and blood sugar levels...) BUT that said, for me, the ones containing whey isolate only were the ones where I had a hard time with the smell. The ones that were a combination or a whey concentrate were better smell wise. I agree with the poster who said use a cup with a lid. Also chilling and ice. Those were what got me through.
  7. Yes I can do one donut, but don't let me near a bag of chips or a box of cheese it's. We all have our trigger foods! That's why I phrase things as "what works for me." I've researched GMO's as well and don't find them nearly as scary (we have been genetically modifying food as far back as Gregor Mendel and his peas) as some other things I avoid. Again, we each make our choices. So, I definitely support people making healthy eating choices, but I don't consider a few less healthy habits problematic either. I also drink coffee daily and don't consider that a slip or a bad choice or a sign of not commuting to healthy eating and weight loss.
  8. I express my opinions but usually in a "this works for me" way, not a "this is what you should do" way. I also listen to what works for others, take some and leave the rest. I think the question "how invested are you in heathy weight loss" doesn't quite represent the discussion happening here, but that's OK. I consider myself quite invested in health--healthy weight loss, physical fitness (I run 20+ miles a week and do yoga 3-4 times a week), nutritious unprocessed foods. But I am also about balance, moderation and not setting myself up for failure. I eat "clean" for the most part 80% of the time or better, but this morning after my half marathon I had a donut! I also ate (and still eat) Wendy's chili early out--I couldn't eat lettuce early out so that wasn't an option. I have a few things I do regularly that don't count as "clean" and I don't avoid GMO food or eat organic, but I do include only healthy whole grains and avoid white sugar, white carbs, etc. I don't eat chemically fake low fat/sugar free/fat free, except in my Greek yogurt on occasion. So I don't know where that puts me in your scheme of things, but I guess what I think is its not an all or nothing for many of us. I can't get in to that all or nothing thinking, it's not something that works well for me personally long term. Because if it's not ALL I'm a failure and so it must be NOTHING and I give up. That's something I learned in therapy for many areas of my life not just food. So... That's where I'm at. Take what you want and leave the rest!
  9. LOL now see I can't stand the premade (tastes like plastic to me) and can only tolerate the powder!
  10. Used to be a very curvy hourglass. Became a rectangle then had plastics and am now an inverted triangle
  11. They have them! But they won't look like you expect. They come in all kinda of colors not just that dark purple. Look with the turnips.
  12. Yeah menopause is a good thing too LOL. I was midst consult on an ablation myself when I finally was done!
  13. Always makes pads designed for larger women and they also have flaps that attach under the panties so they wrap all the way around. They also just recently stated making disposable panties for your period...like adult diapers but for menstrual flow. Platex makes "ultra" tampons.
  14. Ugh always hated pickled beets but love them roasted! What I do is cut them in chunks along with a yam or sweet potato and some carrots and onions, drizzle with a little olive oil and throw in a 375 oven for about 30-45 mins (keep checking and turning them) till brown and crispy. YUM roasted root vegetables
  15. I'm almost two years out and still have one most days.
  16. LOVE American Rag!!! Wore it as a plus size and now I wear their straight sizes!
  17. Just google "clothes rental" & a bunch of them pop up! Really? I tried that about six months ago and couldn't find any! Will try again
  18. Someone needs to start a site like that for sizes smaller than 10! I would totally subscribe!
  19. My mother in law dropped me off and my husband came when I woke up. They gave me a bag which they set aside for me in the recovery room till I went to my own room.
  20. I was never ever an athlete of any type. Four weeks out I started couch to 5k and yoga 3-4 times a week. 10 months out I ran my first half marathon. A year out my body fat had dropped to 18%. 18 months out I ran my first full marathon. I have done a dozen half marathons several relays and triathlons and countless 5 and 10K's. I am currently 20 months out and did a triathlon this morning. If I can do that at age 46 anyone can!
  21. There are LOTS of threads on PB2. Try doing a search for It. There was literally one a couple of days ago.
  22. I got 1/2 C Pyrex with plastic lids. They have grooves all the way up the sides like stripes and I know which line is 1/4 C and which is 1/2 C I think they are technically maybe 6 oz not half a cup bc 1/2 c still has some "headroom." I still use them now at 20 months out! Early out disposable plastic baby spoons were awesome too! And I now have the whole family eating off salad plates instead of dinner ones. The dinner ones look HUGE to me now!
