Tummy tuck cost
My TT alone was about $7k I think (I had multiple procedures done so I would have to check to be sure). That was Skin removal and muscle tightening. I shopped around an got seven quotes and they all circled around that same amount. Not to sound stalker ish but I think I might recognize your location from the background of a few of your pics and I wonder if you and I live in the same neck of the woods. If so I'd love to recommend my plastic surgeon and I'd happily share the info from the others I met with. PM me and I will tell you where I live and see if I am right!

Check with your doc. I know many say no NSAIDS, but mine said the occasional NSAID was fine if I had a headache or something since I have no issues with stomach acid. He didn't want me taking it long term or for anything chronic, but is fine with a few here and there (I am a runner so that's a huge boon for me for the occasional injury). Otherwise ask for a prescription of Tramadol. It's a non NSAID non narcotic pain reliever that works quite well.

How do you "remind" yourself to eat?
Not sure I agree with this. You want to get your Protein in so you don't lose muscle mass while losing weight. You might be surprised! I hated cottage cheese pre op but don't mind it at all now. Along with Peanut Butter (which I now LOVE) and a few other things!I love PB but I'm not approved to eat it yet.Confession: I've never had cottage cheese but the texture disturbs me. Texture of food can turn me off. I promised myself that I would try it before I hit 1 month post op LOL fair enough. How about ricotta? Different texture. Or laughing cow cheese? Vitamin shoppe has protein pudding.

I rarely feel hunger. When I do 2-3 spoons of pudding or applesauce do the trick. Which, isn't enough food Especially because it has no protein!!! Substitute Protein rich foods or at least mix some Protein powder in!!

Some of us dont feel "hunger" anymore... So its not that straight forward ???? Yup! If I ate only when I was hungry I would have stopped eating for about six months ????

Protien bars
Thank you for the info. I have much more reading to do. The taste is growing on me. But I am still very sad that my old ones are gone. I haven't tasted the new formulas yet so I may be sad too after all. The two newest flavors (mint choc and s'mores) have always had the corn fiber but they've never been my favorites because they are the "crumbly" kind for want of a better word, like the Cookies and Cream ones and I prefer the smoother tootsie roll textured ones so time will tell!

Set a timer. Do you have a smart phone? Use the timer on it. Or set an alarm clock. Or just a kitchen timer. Use cues through your day, things you do every day like say drive to work, or watch the 6pm news. Use those to cue yourself. And when you do remember try hard to eat protein first. Nothing wrong with the pudding per se, but if you aren't getting in your protein add some protein powder to the pudding or try some Greek yogurt instead. Skip the applesauce and have cottage cheese. When you have sooooo little "real estate" in your new tummy it's important to have protein first always! For when you are out running errands, Eat right before you leave (another possible cue to remember to eat) and bring along a pre mixed protein shake or some powder a water bottle and a shaker bottle. Lots of other options depending on how far out you are, but it sounds like you aren't very far out, so start there.

Protien bars
Hmmmm I might actually like the change. The old fiber in them was HIGHLY processed chemically: http://blog.fooducate.com/2013/12/30/are-quest-bars-really-as-nutritious-as-claimed/ And the source of the big lawsuit: https://m.reddit.com/r/Fitness/comments/1vihyr/the_quest_bar_lawsuitand_why_science_shows_its/ So I'm game for the change.

CLA
No clue about CLA but you can continue to lose weight without losing muscle mass. I dropped 135lbs and down to 18% body fat so it can be done!!

Tummy tuck questions about scar
It really depends on you and your personal situation. When I had mine done my surgeon and I discussed both and decided the inverted T scar wasn't worth the benefit for me. I really only had excess skin, no subcutaneous fat or anything. And it was limited. Yeah I still have some laxity around my middle... I won't be able to show off a six pack ever because it's just covered by some skin still... But I will be able to wear a bikini so I am good! Here are my before and afters, three months out. I DID have the muscle tightening which I needed after two kids and years of yoyo dieting and obesity. The top is before. The middle shows how the scar is covered by bikini cut underwear. The bottom shows the scar. I have a bit of a dog ear at the ends which will be fixed, but my hip bones also poke out which makes for an odd bump at the ends! If I could pick where it went I would gain another 5lbs or so back to cover that up and give it a nice contour there.

Sleeve Size and Other Questions for PreOp Appointment
@@del112 at three weeks out you are still very swollen. You won't know your true capacity till several months out most likely. For many people about 3-6 months is when we discover our true capacity.

Sleeve Size and Other Questions for PreOp Appointment
My doctor uses a smaller bougie than most (32) and oversews the staple line which make it even smaller. I haven't had an reflux/acid problems, but it is definitely more likely with a smaller sleeve. Even at 20 months out I need a Protein shake daily to get my protein in because my restriction is pretty tight still and I can't eat enough protein without constant grazing. That said, I wouldn't have it any other way. I lost my 135lbs in a year and am easily keeping it off and don't miss large portions at all. Heck that's why I did this! I didn't pick my size, like cowgirl I picked my surgeon and trusted his judgement and am glad j did!

What to do/use to prevent sagging skin while losing weight?
Yeah those things can help a bit... But a lot is genetics, age and weight history (how long have you been overweight and how much did you yoyo). I lost 135 and exercise and weight train a ton and do lotions and Vitamins and tons of Water. I have 18% body fat so lots of muscle. I had to have surgery to get rid of excess skin. It shrunk to a point and about six months into maintenance it was done.

How long can you expect to lose weight
Your skin shrinks for a while maybe up to six months then it is what it is. You can lose weight as long as you put forth the effort! No limit. But you've had great success! CONGRATS

Arm Lift Revision
I will post some pictures when I can, but I wanted to say my plastic surgeon warned me that arm lifts have lower satisfaction rate among most bariatric patients because often they can't remove as much as we'd like simply because the skin there gets very thin and delicate coupled with the fact that the tension and stress placed on that particular scar is much higher than the scars for tummy tuck, thigh lifts, breast lifts, butt lifts, etc. if they remove too much the scar will pull and become wide and knotty. So they can't typically remove as much as we'd like. On top of that the nerves and tendons are closer to the area they are operating on than in any of those other areas so there is danger in being too aggressive there too. This of all areas really needs someone who specializes in bariatric patients. That said, compared to mine yours doesn't look nearly as aggressive. I was down to 18% body fat and had almost no subcutaneous fat in that area... And he warned me I still wasn't gonna have the true muscle definition showing through that I had underneath. He was so aggressive and I had so little fat he almost nicked a nerve separating the skin/subcutaneous fat from a tendon. Immediately post op he checked my ability to feel sensations in that area and luckily there was no nerve damage.

General question -- Do they remove any/some of the fat in your abdomen during surgery?
Really? People think that? Had no clue! SMH LOL! I'm a Riley's mom too!
