  1. Different surgeons use different closure methods. I had staples to close my incisions and my procedure was laprascopic.

    Bra Fitting

Hmmm maybe a pilates DVD is what I need! Which one do you use?
  3. Thanks for asking this! I tried to ask somethjng similar a while ago an didn't get much response. Your question is phrased better and you are getting good info! I am in a similar situation...six months out, done 5k's and training for half an sprint tri.

    Protein shakes

I am like Kindle...six months out but lots of restriction and not able to meet my protein goals without supplementation. I do a 25-30g protein shake a day, usually for breakfast. Then I am usually able to get the rest in but if I am low in the evening (I do track) I will have another one in the evening.

    Bra Fitting

I would so love to do pilates/reformer work but it's so gosh darn expensive at least here. One session is as much as my monthly gym membership which includes my yoga classes.
  6. Bariatric pantry sells a sample pack with all the Syntrax matrix ones in it. Love all of them! My favorites!

    Price of full body lift

I trust you but can you explain? The boob lift was my first priority, I can leave it till after my tummy and arms but wondering why!
  8. Good point! Everyone's body tolerates different things differently. I couldn't eat eggs for months but could do lettuce at six weeks.
  9. 1/2 c watermelon is 6g carbs/sugar and 23 calories. Much less sugar than a banana or orange or apple (from 30-40g each) many others. Berries have the least. Depends on your surgeon's plan. By four weeks out I was on most real food (definitely some exceptions like lettuce, beef, and more) but watermelon would have been fine if I had eaten my Protein and still had room (but for me that was highly unlikely!) Ask your Dr. Now at more than six months out I eat it a couple of times a week...just a few bites. Less than 1/4 cup and it fits into my plan quite nicely!

    Peanut butter cookie shake, omg!

23g protein per scoop. It a blend of whey concentrate and caesin concentrate. I don't tolerate the whey isolate well and my doctor is fine with these sources. They are solid sources (not like the hydrolized gelatin or anything) but not quite as pure or quickly digested as whey isolate. BUT they last longer in the body keeping you full longer.

    FRUSTRATED Grocery shopper..

With the yogert it's the no added sugar that's important. ALL yogert, even plain has sugar because lactose IS a form of sugar and it's part of the milk. There WILL be sugar grams in it, they are from the lactose. You just don't want to see sugar on the ingredients list. Dannon light and fit has no added sugar. All it's grams of sugar come from the lactose. Am I making sense?

    Peanut butter cookie shake, omg!

I drink it probably 5/7 days and alternate with choc or a Choc/strawberry mix (all synthrax matrix). Have gone thru a whole 2lb tub and am about to order a new one! Not sick of it yet =)

    Gallbladder

Had my gallbladder out about a year and a half before sleeve. I had lots of irritable bowel issues post gallbladder removal---diarrhea, "fecal urgency" ick. Never had a solid bowel movement ever. Six months post sleeve now and sleeve cured all that. Haven't had those issues since! If anything I have the opposite problem now, like many sleevers. Constipation unless I am good about taking my Benefiber in my Protein shake daily.

Super stalls around 7th month post op?

Yup! Six months here. Stalled for four weeks and just starting to creep down again. I run about 10 miles a week, do yoga 3 times a week, spin 2-3x a week and swim one day (training for a triathalon). My calories have gone up a bit from an average of 650 to an average of 850. Some more carbs from berries and watermelon and hummus than I had before, but not a lot of empty carbs. Still get in all my Water and Protein in. Tried adding calories in case my body was doing the whole "starvation mode" thing. Nada. I have still lost sizes while stalled though! So I am just keeping on! Strange though!

    back pain

I thought my gall bladder attacks were back pain from weight/posture/uncomfortable chairs for two years before i finally went to the ER one night when it got too bad and wouldn't go away for hours. My gallbladder was out less than 24 hours later!
  16. December 3rd date here. 271 start (no pre op diet) 174 currently I also get about 800 cal/day and work out a lot. 60-80 g Protein 30-50g carbs I still do one shake a day to keep the protein up I lose well for a week or two then stay the same for a week. Been that way for about two months now. I do more like 5-6 small meals since I can't eat too much at once. I eat a lot of turkey jerky, Greek yogert, nuts, laughing cow cheese, cold cuts, PB2, homemade guacamole with veggies...I also eat fruit daily (berries and watermelon mostly but also apricots or half a banana occasionally).

    Overreacting? I want water!

Imbrication is another term for gastric plication (30 second google search told me that). Lots of info here and on the web if you search for that term. Good luck! Maybe your normal foods with a little less spice won't require Water?
  18. My surgeon prescribes it to all patients who haven't already had their gallbladder removed. I had already had mine out so didn't take it.

    Sharp Pain in Right Side

Not to downplay the seriousness, but it isn't often open when you end up in the ER with an attack. That's what happened to me... In the ER with an attack and my gall bladder was out less than 16 hours later but it was still laprascopic. I would definitely get it checked out. The sharp pain doesn't seem typical gallbladder though. It's more of a dull burning pain usually. Can you track it to after a fattier meal? That's typical of a gall bladder attack...an hour or so after a fatty meal.

    Too much protien?

Malabsorption or not we need the vitamin supplements because we don't eat as much vitamin containing foods as the next guy. Most of us just can't get in enough food to get in all the vitamins we need.

    Too much protien?

Too much Protein CAN cause issues long term, kidney issues for one. BUT that 46g is not really very accurate. Protein needs are based on age, height, weight, gender and activity level so saying ALL women need a certain amount is not possible. It's a HUGE generalization. Here is a great source to figure out how much protein YOU need on a daily basis: http://www.healthcalculators.org/calculators/protein.asp I had my six month follow up yesterday. He told me at that point post op you aren't really needing extra protein to heal anymore and he usually tells most of his patients they can drop down a bit and helps them figure out a new level. However with my exercise routine (I run daily and do yoga and other aerobics as well as strength training as I am training for a triathalon) he said I should stay right where I am. Like most other things it's not a one size fits all!

    Peanut butter cookie shake, omg!

That is my current favorite!!!! Love it!
  23. Sadly none of the dr's in my area do the single incision! Wish it had been an option for me! I scar badly =(
