    Back pain post surgery

Yes!!! For me it started about four months out and I too think it was muscle pain from bad posture due to my body needing to adjust to carrying itself differently now that it's not being pulled forward by an extra 100+ pounds! I have been seeing a chiropractor (for the first time in my life) and my posture has improved greatly and the pain has gradually been lessening. I have to gallbladder and know right where my kidneys hurt because I have had many kidney stones over the years so I knew mine was muscular/skeletal.

    Yogurt - Brands?

Dannon Light and Fit greek Yoplait greek 100 Chiobani Greek 100 Fage plain 0% with SF Torani syrups or protein powder added
  3. Syntrax matrix here too. LOVE the peanut butter cookie, but use them all. The vanilla is great in coffee for a latte!
  4. Impressive!! But can I urge caution without being a wet blanket? I did the same thing pre op...but I froze them in ice cube trays in One ounce portions and then moved to ziplock bags. Now almost 8 months later I still have most of those cubes in my freezer bc my tastes changes so much. Plus I froze WAY more than I could eat during my purée phase even if my tastes didn't change. So just don't get too far ahead of yourself! And don't spend too much $$ stockpiling. A little bit is plenty, you won't be feeling too bad for too long, especially by the time you are at purées!

    I need help

Dehydration will put a white coating on your tongue. Is your urine dark? If so seek some medical attention soon! They can give you if fluids and help break you out of this. But yes it could also be ketosis or thrush/yeast.

Ok I'm gonna try this this time! Final push to goal weight! I will check in on Monday with weights!

  13. Yes I have just started to get this too in the last couple of weeks. A few relatives mostly. Still in the overweight range by about 15lbs and a size 8/10 so not super skinny. I do think a lot of it has to do with the comparison to before (105lbs ago).
  14. The nectars aren't my favorites but there aren't many juice like options. That said I NEVER drank milk pre op. It got me all phlegmy and I didn't like it. Now I am fine with the milk based Protein shakes. I use Syntrax matrix and mix with either NF milk or just Water. Never would have expected to like them pre op. And, well honestly like is a bit strong but I tolerate them just fine. I don't know if anyone truly LIKES them, they are a means to an end and you find one you can live with, LOL
  15. Syntrax Nectar makes fruit juice like flavors including a lemonade one (and iced tea and many others).
  16. Makes sense! Mine isn't related to my cycle...I went through early menopause last year at 43 so maybe it's a relic.
  17. Other than the dreaded three week stall I consistently lost for four months. Then from that point till today (7 months out) I have noticed that I consistently "stall" for 2-3 weeks--the scale barely moves yet I lose inches--and then have a nice weight drop for a week of two. This cycle lasts a month. My graph on my fitness pal bears it out. It's weird! Straight line and then big drop. Kind of like stair steps! Frustrated the heck out of me the first time...second time a little less...now I am used to it and don't stress out about it.
  18. Ditto what all have said... I am seven months out and can't eat a cup of food except maybe a cup of loosely packed iceberg lettuce!
  19. Seven months out here. I am in the several small meals rather than 3 meals a day camp. Breakfast/first meal in the morning I usually do a Protein shake. Sometimes I will do a NF cappucino and then have a Protein Shake later in the day. Then I have 3-5 other small meals that typically consist of one of these things: Greek yogurt (Chiobani 100, Dannon light & fit or Fage) 1oz turkey Jerky Sharp cheddar made with 2% milk String cheese Thin sliced cold cuts Poached chicken breast 1/3-1/2 of a pure protein or Quest bar Raw veggies with Fage mixed with ranch dressing mix 1oz almonds or cashews 1/2 c Turkey chilli 2 turkey meatballs w/marinara I will usually pair one or two of these small meals with a carb like 1/4-1/2 cup berries, melon, plums, apricots Hummus with veggies Roasted root vegetables Sliced tomatoes with balsamic and olive oil and basil Small salad with full fat dressing Flat out low carb wrap (1/2) or a low carb tortilla (1/2) A couple of times a week I will splurge and add in something the family is eating or eat out. I don't deny myself a bit or this or that including.... A few French fries A cheese won ton (had this today!) Half a slice of thin crust pizza Insides of a street taco Popcorn at the movies Chick fil a grilled nuggets A few bites of almost anything my husband or kids order I have completely stayed away from bread, rice, sugar drinks including juice, Pasta...other than that I don't have any forbidden foods....including a very occasional dessert. I eat around 800 calories a day, typically 70g protein (60+) less than 60 carbs (usually less than 40).
  20. I did a Disneyland trip about the same distance out from surgery and did fine. Brought lots of protein powder... Could always find water to mix it with. Got a hotel room with small fridge and kept lots of Greek yogert, string cheese sticks, etc in it. You will be fine!

    Weight Loss Time

So many factors come into play. What weight did you start at? The heavier you started the longer it may take. Many people never get to their goal, the surgery is considered a success at 60-70% of excess weight lost. So if you had 100 pounds to lose a loss of 60-70 would be considered a success. I have been very lucky. In seven months I am 16lbs from goal. I had 121 to lose.

    Straws

Different doctors have different rules, but mine said that was a permanent thing.
  23. Oh don't say that! I wore a size 12 in middle school so I am figuring size 8 is "safe!" I literally just practically skipped size 10 so I treated myself and bought the most expensive pair of jeans I have ever owned yesterday to celebrate being in single digits! I don't want to think about shrinking out of them... Ok well maybe I do... But not yet, LOL!
