I love this image and imagine myself bursting out of my fat body in the months to come. (The comment about eating the foods you love and losing 50 pounds is from an ad and I don't have information about it. I just love the image.)

How about calling around to the local nursing college? I know a lot of nursing students look for side jobs to pick up some extra money, if you can swing something for 48 hours that might be a good place. They could come over after school study and stay with you to make sure you are ok.

Not what I said at all... but hey, read what you like into it, we all seem to be doing that. I said people deserve second chances. I said not all doctors who perform them are unethical. I said I don't want to make anyone feel ashamed for having a revision. I said I found my place here on this board after I never thought I'd be fat again, so I can see how someone would have faltered.
Let he who be without sin cast the first stone... everyone deserves a second chance... I did not say any of those things you think I said. Not my opinion... fact.

One M&M for a surgery done in Mexico isn't really what I think most people here are talking about. You say we have differing ideas about what is unethical, and we clearly do... I am not a surgeon, nor do I purport to know all the risks and benefits, but I do believe they are highly individualized and best left to those educated on the procedure. There will always be outliers. There will always be truly unethical practices. But it sounds like there is a very black and white line of thinking here and I don't want to make people who have had revisions feel like they need to hide it or that they have done something wrong. I know 2 people who have had successful revisions. One of them done by my surgeon. She is amazing (my surgeon)... I work with her. She's done so many of these procedures she has it down to a science. I take care of her patients and chose her for her lack of complications and experience. She is a lifesaver to many and anything but unethical.

I read each and every posts. I realize they were giving a pass to the medically necessary revision. My point was that some people were still coming across as very judgmental. Just not an attractive thing for this type of board.

I feel like this particular board is being a bit judgmental. I had revision surgery two weeks ago from the Sleeve to RNY, For the record, I did not want to have revision surgery (who would????) but due to severe GERD and Rheumatoid Arthritis i had no choice. For my health it was necessary. I loved my sleeve and never wanted anything different, now dealing with the RNY is different and will be for the rest of my life. Being obese, we were always being judged by others and this forum is supposed to be our "safe place" but it doesn't seem very safe for some people.. Different surgeries work for different people and some don't work as well or at all. Our pouches are tools and those tools can fail regardless of how well someone is informed or how well they are sticking to their diets. Yes there are some people with food addictions or other issues that prevent them from following the plan. But to suggest because they have not been fully compliant they shouldn't be allowed an additional surgery in hopes that the new surgery could help them, is a bit cruel and selfish. Once you are a few years out from surgery your perspectives may change. I wish everyone good health and weight loss and know that any issues you have are just as valid as anyone else's.

1day1life4now", I am an administrator at the hospital. She would have know that if she read my chart... I am also one of the hospitals Patient Advocates. So trust me when I tell you I did everything you suggested and more. She is banned from the unit and since her position is "casual on call" I don't think she is getting many shifts.

Whew! I'm exhausted just reading this! I can't imagine how exhausting it is living it!! You have a lot going on and on almost every level, you are succeeding. Don't be so hard on yourself. I know that's hard. I'm guessing that you have always been hard on yourself but you now need to give yourself a break. I have also spent money on all kinds of junk food with the intention of eating it. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. Just buying it gives me enough satisfaction most of the time (and yes, i need to work on that!!).
Take things one at a time, talk to the school to see what can be done (if you don't ask, you don't get!!).
I know you will do great and I bet just writing it helped a lot. You are not alone. We are here for you. And I"m sure you have others in your life that are there for you, too. I wish you nothing but the best!!!!

Let me preface this statement by saying I'm also in law school. A 3L. So you got an F that crap really sucks because grades translate to jobs. But you will not fail out I promise you. Talk to the administration see if they can hold off until spring semester with the scholarship. Also change your schedule to be more in line with your work schedule. The AbA removed the 20 hour max the stull strongly suggest it though. Pull out the whole song and dance if you have to. Have a good cry you deserve it. 1l first semester is tough like omg tough. With a full time job and full time course load I'm really unsure how your breathing.
But after you have that cry, you have to make a plan. What did you do good, what did you do bad. Reflect and modify. Sometimes working longer doesn't mean your getting the most in your head. Also sitting in the library doesn't mean your getting your best studying.
One semester won't tank everything. You can still pull it off if you turn it around. And it's really really hard to get a 2.0 in schools that curve to a b or better.
I'm gald you didn't binge as well.

You've got a lot to address here but I'll stick with one thing -- your grades. Set up conferences with the professors who gave you bad grades so that you can go over your exams with them and figure out what they were looking for that they didn't see on your final. Your profs may seem distant and intimidating and you may feel like it's too embarrassing to go talk to them, but I promise you, they want to talk with you and help you. Law faculty find it incredibly frustrating when students who are struggling do not reach out for help. We want to help you! We are not looking down on you, thinking you are stupid, or anything else.
Also, if your school has a person designated as an "Academic Success" or similar coordinator, meet with them and ask for all the help you can get.
You are obviously incredibly bright and willing to work hard. I have no doubt that you can turn this around.

I love the Wendy's Chili too and I add a bit more salt. I have low blood pressure so I have to add more salt to my diet to keep my bp up. It's like the perfect food.

Ohhh hell no. I hope you told your surgeon about this nurse at the hospital. I have to say my surgeon rules her kingdom. The nursing staff has to address our pain and we are supposed to get whatever meds we need if we are in pain. The nurses have to check on the bariatric patients every hour without being called. I was brought the wrong food tray twice while in the hospital this last time and my surgeon flipped her lid and called the nursing staff and the kitchen staff on the carpet for it. If a nurse is shaming a bariatric patient they have no business working on that floor. That person needs to be reported and relocated.

These are my feelings exactly. People judge you when you are obese and when you try to get help and support they're judging again? I got a pass because I had "medical issues". Well someone that has a an emotional or mental issue with eating still has a medical issue and I'm not going to judge them because I know it is not helpful. I think some people on the board have forgotten how it feels to be judged.

Latest update. Her liver is improving, her kidneys are not functioning at all still. They say they could come back yet.
She has developed an infection somewhere in her body, her white cell count is now up. Also, they had to put in a chest tube tonight, apparently one of her lungs has alot of Fluid.
And, she is very weak so they put in a feeding tube tonight as well.
They still say with all of this she is improving and they are watching her very closely.

Thanks for asking. I was going to send out an update so here goes:
It has been a rough week but this morning we actually got some very good and hopeful news. Up to this point they did not think Mary would survive and it was up to her and God to turn things in the right direction.
They have had her on both kidney dialysis and liver dialysis as well as full life support. Supposedly there are only 10 liver dialysis machines in the state of wisconsin and they have had her on it since Sunday night.
Well, as of this morning, her liver is trying to repair itself and things are improving. They took her off liver dialysis this morning and are hoping that her liver repairs itself enough to get her kidneys working. Right now, they are not functioning at all but supposedly that happens.
She is still on a ventilator but she is awake and aware of what is happening now. She can even communicate with nurses somewhat. If things continue to improve, they will likely try weaning her off the vent.
They did say that it will be a very rough and scary road as things improve. There are significant roadblocks to get through but she is fighting hard.
Thank YOU everyone for all of your prayers. The medical team did everything that could and she has been fighting for her life but as the doctors told us on sunday, monday and tuesday.....It is in Gods hands.

I think that your post is a bit judgmental. We all have/had our relationship with food or neither of us would be on this site nor would we have had weight loss surgery if we didn’t this is including yourself. If it wasn’t for your husband support you wouldn’t be ranting and raving some people do not have the support that you do. Also, for you to assume that people use food as a crutch is an insult. It’s a fact that food IS and addiction just like any other drug, this is why insurance companies are covering these surgeries. Other people are self-pay with is why these forums exist. Doctors now a day will charge just to complete paper work. Like you said people on the internet can be a little harsh which is why you requested the offended not to respond. I am not offended but I will stand up for those that can’t and are. And as for self-control, you wouldn’t be in this position if you had some yourself.

I add unflavored Protein powder into Jello, broth, pudding, bariatric hot chocolate. There are actually days I have gone over significantly! It doesn't disturb the flavor too much, through when using a blender to mix it in, it can get quite frothy which is sometimes good -- other times, not so much.

I should still be upping my calories. I'm getting about 7-800 calories per day and I would prefer to be closer to 1000. I eat chili from Wendy's 3-4 times per week and the fiber keeps me regular. That Wendy's chili is actually quite healthy other than the salt.
