    Kaiser Wls Patients

Thank you! Great to hear you're on week 5! I'm hoping to start options January hopefully... Good luck to you
  2. Thanks for sharing! I'm pretty much sold on the sleeve, after attending my seminar at kaiser and seeing and hearing information on each, AND with this forum's help, it seems the sleeve is what will suit me best, canNOT wait....!
  3. Thank you for sharing! I've basically decided the sleeve is for me as well! What great success you've had!!!! Amazing !!!

    Alcohol

I need all your knowledge yet again. I'm still new to looking at all the surgeries and the subject if alcohol came to mind. I know I'll learn all the rules for post op for all surgeries in my program, but was just curious to know if alcohol is something you can't ever have again? I know that's prob not the case but I am a social drinker and I am curious as to if this will be a no no for a good amount of time. By no means do I have to drink just wondering g the rules surrounding consuming any.
  6. I love where this thread has gone hahaha. It's like we all saw something shiny.... {distracted} #whatwasthetopic haha

Also I heard briefly you can never have Motrin again? Ever. What pain killers are allowed after surgery
  8. I did go to my informational meeting tonight through kaiser and they have basically said band surgeries are seeing a drop. But power to those who have the LapBand and are rocking it! Each have the risks/complications but it seems our risk preferences are what differs. I am surprised how much more interested in RNY I am now, never considered it before but now I think I will look into that equally. Thank you for all comments, seriously I value each I your personal experiences over everything else.
  9. All input is appreciated. I like to hear both the good and bad to each procedure. But any surgery is risky, but it's obviously something we've all signed up for. The complications with the band are just as scary to me as complications with the sleeve.
  10. Great input! Great advice! So when did you get your sleeve? Any major problems? I am more and more interested in that route.
  11. I guess I mean easy in the sense of not having to do fills and unfills or future procedures etc. the sleeve just seems one procedure and done! But by no means is any of it easy. Changing your lifestyle is the hard part

    Alcohol

I figured the absorption would be more rapid. I have an addictive personality hence my struggle with food an that tends to show itself when I do drink socially (binge drinker when I actually do) so I'll be happy to do away with thy behavior as well! Thanks for the info

Does hair come back? Excuse my ignorance but I didn't realize it can come back after and if you have hair loss dyer the procedure
  15. I keep going back and forth. One day I think the band is the way to go and then I hear how easy the sleeve is with little to no maintenance.... I just can't decide what will be bet for me
  16. I love hearing all your experiences and journeys. I feel hearing these personal experiences is more valuable than any class I can take. Thank you all for your stories, advice and wishes. !!!
  17. Love the way you put this!
  18. Thank you all for the amazing advice and your shared experiences... You all have contribute to helping me get a clearer idea of what will be right for me.... Thank you!
  19. Hazelsbliss, I love the way you put this and thank you for sharing your experience! Thank you! I have kaiser and my insurance covers all three, I've been always leaning towards the LapBand, I do have a question, you said you have been banded for 4 years, when someone who is banded reaches their goal weight, do they take the ban out ever? Or is that a different procedure not included?
  20. I have previously posted I'm in the beginning stages of deciding to go through with the LapBand, I keep seeing "plication", what is this? Is it necessary to be more successful with just the band? Without it are you less successful? And how do you determine if you need it with the band?
  21. I am in the very beginning stages of perusing weight loss surgery with Kaiser. I haven't started the 12 week program of classes so I am still in the dark on all my options. My own research has led me to believe that Gastric seems to result in more weight loss than LapBand. I was wondering if you have been banded, how did you decide to go with that versus gastric? Are you losing the weight you wanted? Does it come to a stop after a certain point? Any information and personal experiences will greatly help! Also are the long term effects less severe with the band?
