Alcohol after sleeve?
I find that you need little for a buzz. If I drink it do a vodka water with lime. Don't need much and has the least amount of calories in alcohol. I'm 6 mo post op

Bariatricpal scared me shitless
Best choice ever. I too read good and bad before but in all honesty, look at the surgeon's accolades and history. My surgeon had done about 4,000 successful surgeries and not one complication, so that helped too. You will totally have doubted leading up to surgery but it's so so normal! Good luck

Vets who experienced constipation early on
Hey all! I am almost 3 weeks out. And in that total, I have had a total of two bowel movements. The first one was extremely hard to get out (sorry tmi) and since then have started fiber gummies and stool softeners. Only have had one more and it was a little easier to get out than the first. My main question and concern is, I wonder what you all did to stay regular. The stool softeners make my stomach cramp and I dont think they are good for me to take everyday! Does it get better? I understand I'm still in soft food phase but wondering if when I'm on a reg diet for it change that much? Wasn't prepared at all for this aspect of the struggle...

Hey! I was sleeve June 16 as well and came home the 18th... It's been pretty good so far, I'm a big water drinker so it's been an adjustment for me to not drink a ton. I've lost 12lbs since surgery! (5days)! So happy so far but we have a long journey! Best of luck!!

12lbs in 5days
Hey all! My sleeve was Monday June 16th... Highest weight 290 Surgery day weight 263 Current weight 251 So far no complaints! On full liquids and jazzed on how fast it's coming off, trying to mentally prepare for a plateau... When did some of you hit that first plateau? Also how much did you all lose the first month? I just want to see if I'll be a "slow" loser or "fast" loser....

Yesterday was my day
I sit here recovering, in some pain and with some nausea... And even at this lowest most painful part of this journey, I am excited.... I can't believe my life has been given back to me.... I am so ready for this.... Grateful beyond words....

Discouraged
was having a conversation with my husband talking about the surgery and long story gory he made that dreadful comment, "well yea it's taking the easy way out". I was so taken back bc up till now I thought I had his full support and acknowledgement that it would be a long hard journey. I was fine with knowing people in general probably won't be supportive etc, but feeling like my own husband won't even have that equal respect he would someone that does it with no surgery is super discouraging and making me very emotional. Btw he has zero weight issues. Tall slender and works out everyday, no emotional eating, can eat whatever. Hope some of you can lift my spirits

Got the phone call!
Awesome! You must be in San Diego area! We will be getting sleeved around the same time since we'll be finishing classes around the same time! So it's 10% of your starting weight at the orientation that they took? Do u know if you lose too much you can then not qualify?

Am I the only one that wants to eat this or that for the last time before surgery?
I love your term "food funeral"! That's so perfect! I am so guilty of having several food funerals before I start any program/diet! And man do I overdo it! Binging has always been my problem, seems I am always about to start this diet or that diet and so I'm always having food funerals, but I never actually start the diet, 100lbs later I wonder how I got here! Duh! I just got piton my options course through kaiser which is 12 weeks so I have about 4 months till surgery, plenty of funerals coming my way! Lol

Got the phone call!
Got the call from kaiser yesterday, get to start Options course January 6th! 12 weeks and then I can have the gastric sleeve surgery! So grateful our insurance covers WLS, I feel like here's my second chance to be healthy for my kids... I'm so excited and nervous! Any advice on what you did to lose that 10% before surgery? I don't want my head to play that game on me and say "well I better eat that since I won't be able to soon".... I tend to do that before any weight program I start! Any advice and motivation welcomed!

Kaiser Wls Patients
! I am in the beginning stages with Kaiser's process. I'm doing it in Riverside county, I was wondering if anyone could clarify for me: I was told at seminar that the day of seminars weight is your starting weight for the process. She said to start losing weight now, I tried asking if we lost too much where our BMI fell out of the qualifying BMI range, if we wouldn't be able to go through with surgery; she didn't understand me so I was wondering if anyone knows that if you lose too much weight while going through the 12 week options course, can you end up not qualifying come surgery time? Thanks for any info!
