  1. Today I wanted a greasy, McDonald's double cheeseburger with bacon and mac sauce so bad...ate grilled chicken instead. It was really hard :(

With summer coming, you can put some burgers on the grill, and put your own bacon, cheese, and fresh tomato and onion on it and skip the bread. A four ounce burger with an ounce of sliced cheddar and two strips of bacon would give you about 21 grams of protein. Cut than in halves or forths and you can enjoy it for a couple of days! Plus it will taste so much better than McDonald's ever could. Just think of them as McPoison's. You don't need the carbs from the bread and fries anyway - the potato is not the attraction - it's the grease and salt. Before I retired, I would stop at McDonald's on the way home from work...twice, about twenty miles apart (long big city commute). I was just as guilty as everyone else.

mmm, that actually sounds good, especially since it'll give me the extra protein I so desperately need. Maybe I can get the husband to throw on some turkey burgers. I really miss hamburgers...I also almost never eat beef anymore, so yeah, missing that too. I know McDonald's is one of the worse things you can eat. Thank you for the encouragement. We have a George Foreman indoor grill and my parents have the big, regular outdoor grill. I'll try that and see if making my own will sate the beast
