Have you found a resolution for the bat wings? I'm doing lots of weight lifting but it isn't changing it fast enough for me! Driving me nuts!

Happy Belated Birthday! I will be 35 in October and have surgery in July. Hoping I'll have lost at least 35 pounds by my birthday!

  5. Today I wanted a greasy, McDonald's double cheeseburger with bacon and mac sauce so bad...ate grilled chicken instead. It was really hard :(

With summer coming, you can put some burgers on the grill, and put your own bacon, cheese, and fresh tomato and onion on it and skip the bread. A four ounce burger with an ounce of sliced cheddar and two strips of bacon would give you about 21 grams of protein. Cut than in halves or forths and you can enjoy it for a couple of days! Plus it will taste so much better than McDonald's ever could. Just think of them as McPoison's. You don't need the carbs from the bread and fries anyway - the potato is not the attraction - it's the grease and salt. Before I retired, I would stop at McDonald's on the way home from work...twice, about twenty miles apart (long big city commute). I was just as guilty as everyone else.

      Comfy_Blue

mmm, that actually sounds good, especially since it'll give me the extra protein I so desperately need. Maybe I can get the husband to throw on some turkey burgers. I really miss hamburgers...I also almost never eat beef anymore, so yeah, missing that too. I know McDonald's is one of the worse things you can eat. Thank you for the encouragement. We have a George Foreman indoor grill and my parents have the big, regular outdoor grill. I'll try that and see if making my own will sate the beast

  6. I remember when getting to a sz 16 was a major goal for me. Now I'm in a loose sz 10. God (and my sleeve) is good@

    1. marfar7

      marfar7

I know exactly what u mean. Going from a 22 to a 14 was amazing. I don't even remember fitting into a 12 - skipped straight over it and into a 10. I'm now in an 8 (a few 6's here and there). Wish I would kept 1 of my size 22 jeans to compare. Got rid of all my jumbo clothing as I went...

      Good luck!

  7. Another NSV: My ex boyfriend texted me out of the blue and said : "OMG, I haven't been on facebook in awhile, so I peeked at your timeline and you look AMAZING. Ii can tell by your smile that you're happy."

Sucks doesn't it, I went to a get together last weekend , I'd lost 26 and not a word was said , kind of discouraging but with you at 40# wow that has to be noticeable ! People are just so into them selves ! Way to go for you though!

      Comfy_Blue

thank you all for the kind words, even though we're all online i really appreciate the support andcompassion. i definately did it for me, but it's still nice to be recognized by my friends who've become like family (one I've known since age 8, the other age 13 and the other two I met at age 15. We've all been in school and friend ever since and are 30 now). I'm proud of me and glad others are too

If they've been seeing you regularly, they may not see it at first. But don't worry; they will! Because of the storms, snow, etc, I've been bundled up and actually don't want my neighbors/friends to see me until spring. Then I should blow their minds. Two weeks after surgery, I'd lost 17, and went to a party. Folks said I look good, but I don't think they really saw a change then. But they will. Like you, everyone will see it. Whoo-hoo! Congrats on 40#; I ho...

  10. I don't understand why people who barely know me comment on my weight loss. Are they nosy? Curious? Is it just exciting to them that they noticed and they want to share?

Some may be just happy for u and your success even if they don't know u personally. It is inspiring to see someone successful so take it as a compliment .

      Debbie3sons

Maybe they are seeing what you are not seeing and our minds have to just catch up with our bodies sometimes I have people I don't even know or have talked to come up and say that walking your doing up and down the street is making you look good , like really , but then I just say thank you and keep on walking while smiling.

    4. Comfy_Blue

      Comfy_Blue

aw thanks ladies. that actually helped me to understand quite a bit and feel better. i definately don't feel like my mind has caught up to my body because even though the scale says I've lost 30+lbs and I'm down a couple sizes, I still look the same to myself in the mirror

  11. NSV!! the yoga pants I bought to wear under my hospital gowns was too tight the day of surgery, so I left them home. Today I put them on and even with the draw string pulled tight they're loose on me and keep trying to fall off. SUCCESS!!

I know right. Especially times like now where it's so cold that they have delayed/cancelled school in many of the surrounding areas. I pray that they open double the shelters tonight because they're saying with the wind chill it will feel like -11 and anyone without mittens and hats will get frost bite if they stay out a few minutes. Scary, scary. :(

Aw thanks carolina. I was actually wondering if there's something i can do to help. I wonder if churches or other organizations offer assistance on these cold nights, like going around giving out blsnkets.

  13. NSV: went up a flight of stairs twice and while my legs were tired, my knees didn't hurt/ache!!

Good Morning! Congratulations! Isn't it great to fit into new clothes? I'm looking forward to fitting into my dark jeans that fit me well a year ago but since I put on some lbs. need to get back there, on my way now :) By the way I'm a teacher too. I'm a reading intervention teacher. Taught 5th grade for 3 years before that. Im loving intervention!! Have a good day :)

  16. So...I'm down 20lbs since I started, but my clothes feel the same?

    1. RJ'S/beginning

      RJ'S/beginning

Before you know it you will be dropping sizes very quickly..Maybe faster then you can keep up with the clothes....just wait and see!!!!

    2. birdmadgirl

      birdmadgirl

I find that all of my clothes were sort of tight to begin with and everything seemed to fit differently when I was bigger.. only down 33lbs and I can see a bit of a difference in the clothes being looser but not a ton. Hang in there.. it will happen for us.

    3. Comfy_Blue

      Comfy_Blue

aw thanks guys. i decided to try on a pair of sz 16 jeans that were so tight that i could barely button them and they pressed so hard it made me queasy. i put them on today and they were snug. i guess that's a little progress.

  17. 3 days post opt and everytime I swallow, a pain rises up in my chest. I hope this too shall pass.
