  13. Well it's been long journey...i had lapband for a little over 2 years and had trouble with it, I thought i was going to have revision 6 months ago,but insurance changed rule to 12. With the help of my awesome doctor, I am approved. I have friends that are trying to talk me out of it, some even saying I just need to be disciples on diet and exercise. But I still choose to do this...i am happy with my decision, and can't wait for next step Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J320A using the BariatricPal App
  14. Okay.I am really nervous..things are moving fast...Heres the story..I started in Nov of 2013, with the prep for surgery. I did all the visits and finish up in Feb. The insurance change the requirements at the beginning of the year, so it was unknown weather I would have to do more nutritionist visits or if the insurance company would "grandfather" me in under the old requirement. I wait for several months to find out. During the "waiting" period my mother fell, went to the hospital and we found out that she had stage 4 cancer...I was her primary care giver. In May the doctors office called, saying they finally got approval for the surgery...my mother was still in hospital at this time and we had no idea when she was coming home. I explained to them what was going on and they said I had till Aug. to do the surgery. My mother passed a way middle of June. I had her estate to settle and final arrangements to take care of. Now that things are settled I am ready...I think and hope. I talked to the doctors office to find out what needs to be done....if i need to restart the process, I knew I wasn't going to make the Aug deadline for surgery. Imagine my surprise when they told me that I had until Aug 23 for surgery...I can get my gi done in the next week and tentitive scheduled the 21st of Aug...I am nervous about getting this all done, and excited too..but its moving fast...It may be a good thing, it won't give me time to back out...is there any suggestions from anyone that might help keep things moving smoothly? What should I do next? I will be living by myself, any thing i should know there? Anything will help..I'm moving too fast to know what I should be doing next, but I have dreamed of this for so long, I even lost my boyfriend during all of this because he was a non believer in the surgery...
  15. I've been here reading a lot on here. A lot of what my Dr told me I have read on here, which made me feel good
  16. I finally met with surgeon. I have to go through 3 meetings with nutritionist one meeting with her to go over post op diet. My first meeting with her is next week. I get psych evaluate next week too. I am excited that I finally start my journey. I am learning a lot from what I read here. Thank you for all the great info
  17. I keep seeing sugar free popsicles. Where can u get them what brand
  18. ty bandista, I can't wait for my journey to begin, I want to open the next chapter to my life. Congratulations on your banding.
  19. I made the decision about 3 weeks ago to get banded. I have done my research, talked with others and joined here to get more insight on what to except. I work on a medical facility so I knew which doctor I wanted to perform the surgery. The problem has been getting a hold of the office to schedule my first appointment. Today I finally got a hold of them. My first weigh in is the 22nd. When talked to the nurse she figured my bmi and asked what insurance I had, she told my I was a shoe in for the surgery. I am so happy
  20. Ty all for your support. After sleeping we had another discussion. I explained to him why I want the surgery. I understand its not a walk in the park I've done alot of research. He still will support me and help me
  21. I just had a heated discussion with my boyfriend about the lapband. Although he says he will support me in my decision he states that if I had the willpower I'd be following the diet now. He states he had faith I can do it but o should be able to do it without surgery. I want the surgery regardless
  22. See that's what I am afraid of. People don't understand I have done the weight watchers lost 90 pounds. I did the pill lost 100. I've cut the calories. If I could keep it off I wouldn't be going what I think extreme. I told my sister cause I live with her and she's seen what I've been through but I don't want anyone else to know
  23. I am private person too. K only want to tell certain people
  24. Should I tell my work about my banding
  25. I just don't want to get sick. Ive been to nutritionist on one other diet and gained weight. I think with banding I will learn portion control. Another thing that worrys me is I take medicine at night I have to eat with will they let me know how to handle that
