I suppose everyone tolerates pain differently. My tubal didn't take me down like I thought. And I wasn't my incision that hurt. It was actual manipulation of the tubes. But to each his/her own. Glad you got better soon thereafter.

I'm having surgery on a Wednesday and going back to work on a Monday. If this is anything like having a tubaligation then I'm good. Good luck to you.

Cat225. You do what's comfortable for you. You know you're family. You know what the outcome will be if you tell. I personally will never tell more than those that I have. I know the backlash.

So I was proactive in starting my liquid diet two days early, with today being day one. My Pre-op isn't until tomorrow (1/28/14)......It's not as bad as I thought. If anything I'm having trouble trying to consume the daily intake of the list provided to me by my nutritionist. Either that or I've completely wrapped my head around the whole idea of my lifestyle change. My new mantra is: Nothing tastes as good as I want to feel and look. Thanks for letting rant. It all depends. I haven't gotten on a scale yet and won't until the day before my surgery. However I have noticed a change in my face and that's my skinny jeans (yeah skinny jeans on a Thick Chick) are fitting a little looser.

Welcome!! Depending on your insurance requirements and surgeons requirements you'll be instructed on what steps need to be taken. It's different for everybody. Mine for example: I had to attend a seminar first. Then a support group meeting. I had to do 3 monthly nutritional visits, See a psychologist then do some online seminar. Everyone at Work thinks I'm having Hernia surgery. I didn't want to have to explain my need or resonation on why I'm having WLS. I'm still taken aback that even in the doctors office people would be so critical of the choice you made. This isn't a competition. Example, I have not told my mom because she's super critical. But she tells me to lose weight all the time. Now that I'm on my Pre-op diet, she's all like "That's all you're eating!? " my only reply cuz its my mom is "Yes ma'am. " deep down I want to say "But you called me fat!! ". So I decided to let everyone see the transformation overtime. Don't need any shade throwing. Starfish n coffee

Congrats!!! As far as the gas goes? Just keep moving. I haven't had my surgery yet but I remember that feeling from having my tubes tied.

My surgey date is 2/19/14. I couldn't be more excited about the procedure for this tool. The biggest factor in this is ME making the decision to take control. I too am 5'10". I weigh 289. I used to weigh 266. 156.etc.. You back out of this you'll be 289! This isn't about OTHER people and what they think. They aren't you! Do YOU and get to happy! God Bless! Starfish n coffee

You're right! Great advice. I'm on day 2. Really no hunger at all. Its mental to me.
