wendybringhurstakrealtor got a reaction from FujiyamaMama in gel-cap multi vitamin?
I have only vomited once since surgery. That was with an empty stomach taking a sample bariatric Vitamin the surgeon gave me. I find that if I don't have good timing with my Vitamins and food in tummy I don't feel so great. Taking them with food and a tiny bit of Water helps me feel fine after taking them. Sounds like some of us don't tolerate vitamins on empty stomach, especially Iron. I hope that helps.

No more man hands and now collar bones showing up. Forgot I had some. Strangers are nicer and actually give eye contact in public and don't ignore your existence. Just a few for me. I just moved to the overweight category and out of the obese one. It sure feels nice.

I am just over 8 months post-op VSG. I have lost a little more than 70 pounds, and gotten my BMI from super morbidly obese (43) to overweight (28 and change). I've gone from a size 22W to a size 12. I love how I look, how I feel, how much more physically active I can be. But that's really not the best part!
My GP ordered a full panel of blood tests for me recently. He also ordered a Glucose Tolerance Test (GTT), the test that is used to diagnose diabetes and gestational diabetes. As background, I was first diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in 2007. Since my surgery, I have not had a single high reading. The GTT results I just got back today show NO SIGN OF DIABETES! I can metabolize 75 grams of glucose in a single (disgusting) drink just the same as a non-diabetic person can! VSG has cured my diabetes!
Not only that, but my cholesterol numbers are perfect. My blood pressure is perfect. All of my Vitamin and mineral levels are perfect. My hormone levels are perfect.
VSG has turned my health around. My doctor said that he cannot remember his last patient who turned their health around the way I have in the last 8 months.
Even if I never got to goal (which I will), I am so happy! I am just thinking about all the damage that is NOT being done to my tissues by diabetes. I won't have neuropathy, kidney problems, blindness, amputation. Because of VSG!
    SO HAPPY!

Ready to break my stall!!!! Sleeved nov 6 and down 15 lbs. stalled for about 2 1/2 weeks. But I would rather lose slower anyway. I'm seeing wrinkles where I had a double chin. Lol. I started with lower bmi of 35 with a couple co morbids. I hit onderland shortly after surgery.

I've been over on the lapband support site for a while and just got told today by my doc that he won't have a lapband in for my scheduled surgery next week. Military hospital....won't be in until next year. I don't want to wait so it looks like I might agree to the sleeve instead. Still next week....but I have some studying up to do before I give him my answer tomorrow.
I am in Alaska and have been with a nutritionist since May. I have lost about 23 lbs so far and have 70 more to go. I am at the lower BMI cut off....but was told I am pre-diabetic, pre-hypertension, pre high cholesterol and I have had PCOS for a long time. I am happy to have weightloss surgery as a tool in my belt to get this horrible weight off....I have given birth to twins twice and two more kids as well.
Pre-op diet starts tomorrow with no fat....then after surgery, 3 weeks of liquid followed by mushy diet for a while. I have already turned into a gym rat and I love that part of the changes I have already made....built some great muscle tone under my fat. LOL

Day one of liquids after a very low fat food week and many weeks of eating better to get me to this point....sleeved tomorrow!!!! Three weeks of liquid from this point forward. I hope I get sleep tonight. One more sleeved girl in Alaska.....I will let you know how it goes tomorrow. I changed my mind from a lapband a couple of weeks ago. I'm confident I chose the better path.

At my hospital, we do the liquid diet for 3 weeks after surgery. Then on to mushy stuff for a while. For the time before surgery, I am expected to continue to lose weight and for the week before, a strictly low fat low sugar diet is recommended.
I have Nov 6 as surgery date if my ordered band comes into the hospital in time. This is at a military hospital.
I have lost about 23 lbs since about May. Got rid of some big clothes. I am right on the border of the obese scale to qualify for surgery but pre diabetes and pre hypertension and PCOS kept me on the list. I have about 70 lbs to lose.
I look forward to all the November postings.
