  1. I personally could care less about scars ... I just wanna be skinny :biggrin1:
  2. The only place I've ever seen "pregnant parking" was at Babies R Us ... and of course the spots were always full and I never got to use them  But I agree with previous posters, you've obviously never been pregnant or have had to lug small children into stores. It's not as easy as you may think
  3. I had surgery with Dr Kuri in Tijuana, Mexico. It was a great experience. The hospital he uses is brand new, state-of-the-art. My cost was $7500. If you'd like to learn more, you can visit his site at www.lapbandsurgery.com
  4. This past Easter my inlaw's had taken my 2 youngest children to an Easter egg hunt. My 4 year old was attacked by a dog and ended up in the ER. So my husband and I rush down there and after they were done stapling my son's head back together *ouch* the doctor was making small talk with me (trying to calm me down as the stapling kinda freaked me out) so he's asking about my children and their ages. Then he says "And wow, another one in the oven!" :faint: I looked down at my stomach and said "Uhhhh NO!" He felt stupid (as he should) and I felt like total crap. At the time I had been doing the Weight Watchers points system and had lost 20 lbs, was feeling really good about myself! But after that and another rude comment made by my Monster-in-law a few days later, I gave up on everything because I didn't feel I was ever going to be good enough ... for anybody. I stopped doing the WW, figured what the hell I'll only live once so I might as well live and eat "normally" and ended up gaining back 7 of the 20 lbs lost. I really don't understand how people can be so STUPID. Think about what you say before you say it! Had I not received these insulting comments that hurt me so much who knows how much I could have lost by now. I didn't have the confidence in myself that I have now or else I would have kept on going. Being banded has given me SO MUCH confidence! Yeah I'm still a "big girl" and have a long way to get to my goal but I know I will succeed this time, and I could care less what anyone has to say about me now.
  5. I only change my ticker if my weight has gone down. I have it set to only show the loss since my surgery. 16 lbs in 4+ weeks isn't that great ... but from my highest weight back in February, I've lost a total of 36 lbs :biggrin1:
  6. I bought this scale and absolutely love it. Yesterday for lunch I had 3 oz grilled chicken and 1/4 cup of cottage cheese ... doesn't seem like much, but it helps me to use very small bowls & plates because it gives off the appearance of having more food than there actually is, sorta like playing a trick on my mind ... that way when I'm finished, I'm convinced that I just ate a "whole" plate of food and don't need anymore.
  7. Yesterday ....... Breakfast ~ 2 scrambled eggs (topped w/ ketchup) & 2 slices of bacon Snack ~ SBD high protein cereal bar Lunch ~ 3 oz grilled chicken & 1/4 cup cottage cheese Snack ~ 1 hard boiled egg Dinner ~ 1 cup homemade chili
  8. Breakfast ~ 2 scrambled eggs & 2 slices of bacon Snack ~ SBD high protein cereal bar Lunch ~ 3 oz grilled chicken & tomato slices Snack ~ 1 hard boiled egg Dinner ~ "Michaelina's" Lean Gourmet salisbury steak & mashed potatoes
  9. Breakfast ~ 8oz Unjury chocolate shake Lunch ~ 3oz grilled chicken, 1 hard boiled egg mixed w/mayo Snack ~ 1 hard boiled egg Dinner ~ Smart Ones Turkey Breast w/ Mashed Potatoes Snack ~ 1 pickle & 1 string cheese
  10. Hope your surgery went well yesterday!
  11. I lost 12 lbs in my first 12 days after surgery ... soon as I got to "soft foods" it has been a struggle, a fight to lose more. I too don't feel that I am over-eating, I am drinking the required amount of water and walking each evening as well. ANXIOUSLY awaiting my first fill
  12. I'm guilty of the daily weigh ... in the morning, after I pee, completely nekkid. If I step on the scale and don't like the numbers, I step off and call it a few names which isn't appropriate to post here then I step back on it hoping for a better number (believe it or not, sometimes it works) :rolleyes ............ but most of the time the scale hasn't been my friend as you can see in almost a month I've only lost 15+ lbs. I became so frustrated with it at one point, my family took it and hid it from me ... I ended up finding it in the garage a few days later, total coincidence as I wasn't looking for it ... really! :paranoid It's now back in my possession and they have no clue :heh:
  13. I love LC's meatloaf & whipped potatoes ... I also buy "Smart Ones" slow roasted turkey breast & their roast beef too. These are sometimes a bit pricey though so I've also tried "Michaelina's" Budget Gourmet, their meals are around a $1 each.
  14. Breakfast ~ 2 scrambled eggs topped w/ ketchup Snack ~ Sugar free Jello chocolate pudding Lunch ~ Lean Cuisine Meatloaf w/ whipped potatoes Snack ~ SBD high protein cereal bar Dinner ~ 4oz boneless chicken & egg salad
  15. Breakfast ~ Unjury chocolate protein shake Snack ~ SBD cinnamon raisin high protein cereal bar Lunch ~ Egg salad Snack ~ 1 string cheese Dinner ~ 4 oz boneless chicken & egg salad
  16. I had surgery with Dr Kuri last month and wasn't required to lose pre-op ... I do believe though that if your BMI is 45 or above, you will be required to do the "liver shrinking diet" ... if that's the case, they'll let you know. Best of luck to you!
  17. Tijuana Mexico by the wonderful Dr. Kuri
  18. For Breakfast I have a Protein shake, then as a snack I have a string cheese. For lunch I have 1/2 can of soup (which equals about 1 cup) then as a snack another string cheese (or sometimes I'll have SF pudding instead) and then for dinner it's always something different ... last night I had 1 cup of cottage cheese mixed w/ salsa, tonight I made spaghetti for my family and had a little bit of it, definitely nowhere near the amount I would normally have had. Inbetween my meals I drink drink drink Water. I keep track of my daily intake on Fitday.com and I just ordered myself one of them fancy digital food scales too! So like I said, I eat very little and don't understand why the scale isn't moving. I was talking to my Mom about this earlier today, told her how frustrated I was with the darn scale so later this afternoon after my oldest son came home from school, she called and talked to him and told him to hide my scale! So now my scale is MIA and I can't weigh myself everyday anymore
  19. The option of "not sure yet" should have been included in the poll. I was banded July 28th and am only down 12+ lbs. My weight has been the same for the past week despite the fact that I am eating small, "bandster" sized portions, drinking water and walking. If I am following the rules and eating small portions, as if I have had fills then why am I not losing? It's frustrating ...
  20. I'm 12 days out and 12 lbs down ... I had hoped to lose alot more during this liquid stage but it just didn't happen for me I can finally start soft foods this Saturday (can't wait to have a scrambled egg!) Hope everyone is doing well
  21. I was watching a plastic surgery show, don't remember the name, but the woman had lost alot of weight and among other procedures, she had a "pubic lift" done ... so don't worry, there is a solution
  22. On day 5 full liquids and currently "eating" a mixture of pureed no fat refried beans & V8
  23. Hey Lucky #7's ... I had my surgery a week ago today. My doctor required that I do the clear liquids starting the day after surgery for 3 days then move onto full liquids for 2 weeks. Since starting the full liquids, my weight loss has slowed (almost to a standstill) and I don't know if I'm eating too much, too little, or not the right foods. For instance, yesterday morning I had an Unjury protein shake ... for lunch, I pureed a Campbell's soup at hand creamy tomato with 3/4 C cottage cheese and ate maybe half of it, then had the other half about 3 hours later ... for dinner I pureed some no fat refried beans with salsa and enchilada sauce, ate maybe 1 C of that. Total for the day on calories was around 800 and 60+ protein. I had thought maybe I was eating too much, but was told that I'm not getting enough calories in so I need to eat more?? Can someone, who is in the full liquid stage right now, give me a breakdown of what and how much they eat in a day? Thanks! :biggrin1:
  24. Maybe I should get both
  25. I started an evening walk routine 3 days after surgery ... that night I walked 2 miles (to my own amazement) and I've decided to make it a nightly ritual. 2 weeks prior to surgery I "attempted" to walk one night ... after 10 minutes my calves hurt and I could barely breathe (and had to turn around and go home) Now I walk 2 miles easily with no tiredness, no sore legs, no huffing & puffing. I am now looking for a way to get in exercise during the day too, trying to decide which workout machine to buy ...
