Plateau Busting Diet
OK so I've been "plateau'd" for 2 weeks now and still a little over a week away from my 2nd fill so I thought I'd try this plateau busting diet ... Has anyone else tried it and does it work?? When it says 45g protein supplement, is that in addition to the high protein foods listed?? Anyone know? How to break a plateau #1 - Do this for 10 days to break a plateau #2 - Drink 2 quarts of water a day #3 - You must have 45 grams of protein supplement and all your vitamins/minerals supplements each day #4 - You may consume up to 3 oz of the following high protein foods, 5x a day beef pork chicken turkey lamb fish eggs low fat cheese cottage cheese plain yogurt or artificially sweetened (?) peanut butter beans/legumes You may also have: sugar free popsicles tea or coffee sugar free soda sugar free jello broths/bullion (sp?) crystal light drinks #5 - If it's not on the list, you can't have it for 10 days!!!! #6 - Keep a food diary and try to get up to 30 mins of exercise daily

Anyone have kids under 5 AND the lapband?
I'm also a SAHM ... my youngest are 4 & 2. I came home from MX the day after my surgery and immediately returned to my normal "duties" ... I didn't have to do any lifting as they both insist on being independant and doing things on their own, I did pick up my 2 year old once without thinking but it didn't cause any problems. As far as diaper changes, it might be easier to get up & down if you changed them on a bed instead of on the floor ... just a thought! Good luck! :biggrin1:

Elliptical Anyone??
Congrats Stacy!! After doing 4 minutes this morning I thought there would be no way in heck I could do another 4 minutes today because it makes my legs so tired & achy ... anyway, I surprised myself and went for 5 minutes this afternoon! :whoo: One of these days I'll master that machine ...

Elliptical Anyone??
Well I'm still only able to do about 2 minutes at a time ... I'm starting to hate the darn thing and wish I would have gotten a treadmill instead. :rolleyes I should have tried one in a gym or a store beforehand ... I honestly had no clue that it would be difficult. I can go outside and walk 2 miles in 30 minutes and not get nearly as tired as 2 minutes on the elliptical makes me. :paranoid I'm still workin' it though! :nervous

lap band cookbook
I couldn't agree with you more! I was so excited to get the book, and upon receiving it I thought it was cool the way they had serving sizes broken down by which surgery you had and how far out from surgery you were etc ... but honestly, I haven't opened the book since! I just don't have time for all of these "gourmet" types of recipes ... and only a handful of them actually sounded good while the others were *blah!*:rolleyes

On the go solid protien
I've always LOVED beef jerky ... I find myself eating it more these days to help get in the Protein I need. I buy the Tillamook brand @ Winco as it is always so tender, not rough like some brands. Just curious Laura, what does that sweet & spicy flavor taste like? Have you tried their original?

Elliptical Anyone??
OK so I just received my elliptical machine yesterday ... the hubby put it together for me last night and all I can say is .... man, that thing kicks my @$$! I can't last more than 2 minutes on it without my legs giving out on me, and gasping for breath Has anyone else had this problem? ... Does it get easier? I'd hate to have wasted $700 on a machine I can't use :faint:

Before and After Lap Band Surgery - PICTURES ONLY
- Pureed Foods
You can get some unflavored protein powder to add to your meals too, just stir it into your soups, chili, potatoes ... anything! I use Unjury ...- Diet Oceanspray Cranberry Juice
I was addicted to cranberry juice before I was banded ... I drank the Oceanspray Light everyday, absolutely love the stuff! I saw the diet shortly after banding and decided to try it, blah! I thought it tasted horrible (compared to the light) so I gave it to my children ... they didn't like it either, LOL- Help with Passport info asap
You will need a passport when walking/driving across the border beginning in January 2008 ... right now a passport is only required if you are flying in & out of MX ... for now, your ID will work just fine. If you plan on returning to MX for your fills, it might be a good idea to apply for a passport now though. Good luck with your surgery!- Share ideas, What did you eat today ?
