  1. I have been having extreme gas & diarrhea since March/April. I eat a lot of veggies & have been under a lot of stress (grandmother with lung cancer and she passed away in April, plus 3 adopted children under 10), so I chalked it up to the stress/ maybe a little IBS. Then the pain and discomfort started. the pain started in the epigastric area. Sometimes a dull nagging discomfort, sometimes burning. The pain radiates up into my shoulders and into my chest. My heart is good so I know it's not that. Within the last week I have started having nausea. Nothing serious, just generally miserable and uncomfortable. On top of everything, my band became super duper tight when the tropical depression came through Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas a couple weeks ago. I had episodes of aspiration at night. I was also having back pain from an old back injury so I went and had a steroid shot. From working in a doctor's office for many years, I came to realize that when my band got miserably tight, I could get a steroid shot and it would take the inflammation out and I could go back to normal. It worked. My band is no longer tight & no more aspiration. YAY! But, the other symptoms are getting worse and are pretty much constant. I called my surgeon and I will see him on 7-15. I called the clinic where I used to work and they called in some Carafate and omeprazole for me. I have been on these for about a week and it has made the symptoms bearable. I didn't even think about gallbladder until I started searching through some of the posts on here. When I googled gallbladder symptoms it appears that I have every stinking one of them! Praise the Lord for this forum! I was beginning to freak out just a little. Especially since I have had my band for so long. If it gets worse I will go to the ER for sure. I am really tough, and stubborn, and a little shy so we will see. LOL!

    Ooh boy :/

Hopefully things will get better hang in there! :)

  2. I have had my band for 10 years. I haven't used this forum in a very long time. Boy things really look different here! I have not had any major issues up until this point. I am thinking that I am having gallbladder issues right now though. ;)

Can you share what your symptoms are?

  3. Absolutely! The best ones will be called tight-lacing corsets. The lowest I've seen them is $70. I'm not sure how much the rubber ones are. The boning (what keeps the corset form) should at least be steel spiral with a steel "busk" at the front or back for strength. If you get one with an opening in the front and lacing at the back, those are the easiest to get in and out of.

Do you have any weight loss surgeries?

  4. If you look at Kim Kardashian and think "man that's perfection", consider waist training. Her curves aren't natural but they are wonderful thanks to corsets. At least I think so.

Yeah it's 2014, and we're still shoving our puppies into pushup bras, strings into our butt cracks, plucking, waxing, shaving, and have an unrealistic body images thanks to popular culture.

Not sure what your point is.

Thanks for all the info, I've been thinking of doing this, but didn't know much about it. I don't even know which one to get or where to get them lol

But thanks for sharing info with me.

  5. I have never heard of this. Please tell me more!

Waist training is a gradual process of waist reduction using a latex waist cincher or corset ,Also known as waist cinching this practice came to prominence during Victorian times.

  6. I hope I'm just another chicken little?

I went to see my Doc today and did the Nasal Endoscopy, and my band and plication are perfect, THANK YOU JESUS!!!

He also, had a ultrasound to make sure it wasn't the gallbladder or gallbladder stones. And that came negative, THANK GOD!! :)

He said it might be something fatty that I might be eating to make me feel bloated. So I will keep and eye out to see if there is a pattern. But I prayed to God it was nothing and believe in divine healing and also thank God for my wonderful doctor he truly is the best!!

Thanks everyone for your advice and words of encouragement! :)

  7. @@Muñekita I saw you posted earlier that you were worried about a feeling of pressure and bloating not being not able to eat/drink Water for fear of making matters worse. Are you thinking it might have had something to do with your plication or your band?

I have a band and plication but I had them done at the same time. Reading your post in the plication forum suggested you had the plication after being banded for 7 years. You might want to give your surgeon a call and go in to have your band and plication checked out to be sure that everything is in place and working well.

I know sometimes for me when I have one of those large yawns and swallow a large amount of air I can get a bit of an air bubble for a minute but it usually passes quickly and never stops me from drinking or eating. Please do give your doctor a call and keep us updated on how your doing.

  8. Can anyone tell me what the signs of a band erosion or slip? Or how you felt when this happened?

hi, I'm Dr Nassar bariatric Surgeon. If you have pain when swallowing, gastritis or reflux persistent endoscopy should be done to rule out an erision of the band and a intestinal tract X Ray to rule out that the band is displaced

No I don't have any pain, or reflux, no chest pain.

In the last 2-3 weeks all of a sudden I feel like super full, so full that it feels like pressure as if someone has gotten a pump and pumped my belly. So I feel so full that it's uncomfortable. For example, yesterday I had lunch at 11:30 am and I was fine. All of a sudden around 1:30 I started the fullness/Pressure start and it didn't go away till around 5 pm. During this time I just feel super full, and feel like if I even sip on some Water it will make it worst. Then after it goes away I start feeling hungry.

The other day, I ate around 12:00 and around 2 pm I got the same feeling of fullness, I feel so full that it feels like my stomach is going to explode or that feeling that you get when you eat so much that u can't fit anything anymore and it's uncomfortable.on this particular day, that feeling didn't go away till like 7:30pm.

  9. No, never had that feeling but I've been reading here a long time and quirky events like yours seem to precede a band slip, dilation or erosion. The plication complicates it though. Most patients with plication have wide open bands so they seldom have slips?

    Read this: http://www.bariatric-solutions.com/wDeutsch/for-patients/lap-gastric-band/pouch-complications.php?navid=52

BTW-I am by no means a physician and this is something your doctor should evaluate but sudden onsets of painful or uncomfortable gastric complications need the attention of a real doctor.

OK now I'm more confused and scared :(

  10. I don't want to scare you but that's one of the signs of a band slip or erosion? Don't wait for an email, call now. Hope I'm wrong :(

Have you had a slip or erosion before? Did you feel like that?

In the last 2-3 weeks I've had that feeling about 5 times. Tuesday it lasted about 4 hrs and yesterday 3 1/2 hrs. I just feel super duper full! And it's out of no where and very uncomfortable!

    Omg :(

  11. Been banded 7 yrs ago, and plication 1 yr ago. The last 2-3 weeks I just randomly get this pressure of fullness. Like as if someone pumped air in my stomach and I feel super full and it's so uncomfortable. And it happens out of no where, not like when I'm eating or anything. And the fullness last hours, and I can't even sip Water because I feel as if it will get worst. After hours of this feeling, I start to feel hungry and able to eat.

    Anyone else experienced this??

I just emailed my doc with my concern and praying it does not have to do with my band of plication! :/

  12. That's not good :(

Are you on Android or iOS ?

    I know, it's no bueno :(

This is how I get my support :/

In on Android and it worked fine on my other phone till I upgraded to a new one and installed the app on the new phone :/

  13. Are you on Android or iOS ? We've been due for app upgrades for quite some time now. I believe we're going to release a new Android version next week. With iOS to follow shortly thereafter.

Tracking is something we're working on but it's going to be another 4-12 months until it's actually available.

Please restart the app and make sure you're actually logged in.

I restarted the app a few times. And now that I set up the app on my new phone it doesn't give me the option to start a new topic or the button to mark all read.
