    November 2013 Post Op

My surgery was Nov 6th and I've lost 90lbs so far. Feeling so much better :-) have only bought a couple of new items of clothes (trying not to waste money on clothes I won't be able to wear for long) and each time I've taken items into the changing room I expect the staff to laugh at me or point out I have the wrong size but they fit! Down from 24/26 (uk) to 14/16(uk)..... Soooo happy
  3. Wow you look amazing. I hope I do as well as you. Do you have much extra skin because it doesn't look like it from your pictures.
  4. Just cut my toenails without having to get into a weird yoga position, nearly dislocating a hip or almost cutting off the top of a toe.... Loving the weightloss!!

    Back pains

Hi, yes i get exactly the same I understand this is due to significant weight loss and realigning your posture. Mine is a lot better now I'm almost 90lbs down and I know my posture has changed quite a bit.

    Stretching by fluids

I thought I was really going to struggle with this as I've always had a glass of Water with meals but it's been fine. I've not eaten out yet though I guess that would be more difficult. I just keep an eye on the time and have a drink as soon as I'm allowed afterwards. Decaf tea is my new treat and so far I'm not missing cappuccinos at all which I'm amazed at! It's good to remember that these rules are there for a reason and the results make it all worthwhile :-)

    Onederland

    sorry posted in wrong thread...
  12. I sat through a three hour film in the cinema with my legs crossed... Very comfortably!!! Can't remember the last time I could cross my legs even for a minute :-)
  13. Tried on a pair of jeans I haven't been able to wear in years (size 18 uk) was size 24 uk and they fit really well.... Then went on a bit of a country hike up a steep hill and round a huge lake and my husband commented he struggled to keep up with me and that I wasn't even out of breath!!! Last time we tried this walk I thought I was going to have a heart attack. Love feeling so much fitter and trimmer :-)

    Hiccups

I used to get hiccups every time I ate, often just as I started sometimes halfway through, quite uncomfortable and very annoying. This stopped for me at almost two months out.

    Pre-op fears

I had to give myself blood thining injections daily for 10 days after surgery. I was a bit freaked out to begin with but it was fine and I hardly felt a thing. It's all worth it for a safe recovery.
  16. Hi kata, I was worried that people might think this so I made sure I told them I wasn't ill and am now fully recovered. They know I'm eating healthly and not eating any of the biscuits/cakes they keep bringing in so I'm pretty sure they don't think I'm ill at all. Plus when others say how well I look I make sure, after thanking them, I say how well I feel. So I don't really understand it. One of them is quite catty and passed comments about other peoples weight in front of me so I think she may have some issues of her own.
  17. A senior colleague absolutely made my day, he's been away very ill for a couple of months and we haven't seen each other. He popped in my office to say hi as he's hoping to return to work soon, it was so great to see him as I've been really worried about him but ,bless him, he kept telling me how good I looked and how much smaller I was... He even said I looked amazing.... So kind. I had surgery 2 months ago am down 57 lbs inc pre op diet and have only been back at work since christmas. I didn't think my weight loss showed much as, other than a couple of "wow you look well" comments no one else has said anything, especially the two other women I share an office with... My husband had thought this strange as he sees me every day and can't believe the difference but I just thought they hadn't noticed.. My clothes are hanging off me! Only my boss knows about the surgery, and has been very supportive and comment on my loss, the others just think I had a routine ladies op :-)
  18. We just bought a new computer chair which came boxed up. The total weight of the boxed chair is less than the weight I've lost so far ( I've lost just over 50lbs since a couple of weeks before the operation) and I was barely able to lift the box off the floor!!! Amazing to think that just 3 months ago ( surgery was 2 months ago) I was carrying more weight than this around on my body every single day!!! So happy to have got rid of this :-)

    G a s

I have suffered my husband's dreadful indescribable smelly farts for years and still love him :-) but my farts have always been few and most often odorless.... Until now.... Pay back... Big time... LOL

    November 2013 Post Op

Well done, I feel better and stronger every day and and have started trying out a few different foods. Drinking well but only managing about 500 cals most days. I'm down 42 pounds since the start of this process, 28 pounds since op on nov 6th. How are you doing?
  22. hi, I'm three weeks out today and only just starting to feel ok, my energy levels are still pretty low and just doing some light housework today wiped me out so I had a nap. I do feel better every day but it's taking longer than I thought it would. Hope you feel better very soon, take care of yourself.
  23. I understand you're not supposed to take things like ibubrofen after bypass surgery but what can we take instead if we get a headache or backache?
