Wow, you look great!

Is anybody else having a problem with slow weight loss and fluid retention? What I mean is my weight loss can be really slow then all of a sudden it will pick up and I will lost 5 to 10 pounds relatively quickly then almost instantly ( like within 24 to 48 hours) I will have regained all the pounds lost. I'm guessing this is fluid retention but nothing is really working for me to keep this from happening. I have cut my sodium intake and have increased, decreased then increased again my water intake and none of it is helping. My weight loss is very, very slow and it seems like the only way I lose weight is if I eat nothing. I can pretty much eat whatever I want and I don't get sick but I don't pig out just because I can eat normally either. My nutritionist says I just need to increase my metabolism by eating more frequently because I pretty much used to starve myself to lose weight and that my body may just be used to not having a high intake of food and holding on to the little bit it gets. I guess I'm just venting and thinking am I not doing this right or is it that I am one of the unlucky few that it just doesn't work for. I'm hoping that in the next few weeks things pick up.

I've had it for 2 weeks and mine doesn't seem to be going away. Im hoping the doctor can give me some type of direction other than a sleep aid on Wednesday because I've tried that and increasing my iron but neither worked.

Has anyone had a problem with restless legs at night since surgery? I had a gastric bypass on 3-31 and have had a problem with it since coming home from the hospital. I constantly move at night to relieve the numbness and tingling sensation.

Surgery was Monday and I have to say I feel like crap. The gas is killer and the pain is real. Today is the first day I have felt like getting up and doing anything. With that being said every day gets better. I do gave a small drain that my doctor says he will take out before I go home. It doesn't hurt or anything. I really can't tell if my incisions hurt yet because of the gas. I have been walking to combat it so we will see if it works. I hope all of you had a safe surgery and are recovering well.

I'm at the hospital waiting on the nurse to come and finish my admission questions. Then off to the pre op holding area to meet with the anesthesiologist before surgery. Wish me luck as I do the same for you all!

For those of you who have had surgery, did you find it uncomfortable to sleep in your own bed when you got home? My surgery is Monday and I was wondering if I needed to invest in a wedge or bed rest pillow. I've heard that some people have to sleep in a recliner for the first week or so.

I'm only on day 3 of my pre-op diet.. I can have cream soups, sugar free pudding, juice, skim milk, popsicles, low cal gatorade, protein shakes, tea and coffee... In two days I have grown quite fond of cream of chicken, if you can believe that. I think you kind of get tired of all the sweet stuff after a while . Hope all goes well for you. Can't wait til I'm on day 10 of this diet.

Me too. The 31st can't get here fast enough but I'm still nervous. Im on day 2 of my preop diet and so far so good. Wish you well on your journey to the losers bench!

Questions...How many nights did those of you who had gastric bypass stay in the hospital? I was just wondering because I saw something where there was a 2 night stay for bypass but my insurance letter only listed one night stay approval.

Praying everyone has a safe surgery and quick recovery. My surgery is 3-31 and I am very excited. I went for my preoperative testing/bloodwork today (eka, abg,chest xray, etc).. the abg hurt! They stuck me 3 times, thankfully they got enough blood the 3rd try. Did any of you experience pain afterwards? It wasn't unbearable but more pain than I expected. Also, those of you who have had surgery, is there additional testing required the day of surgery or was this it for testing?

Does anybody know if pre-op testing is done fasting or not. I have to have some testing done this morning at the hospital but wasn't told if it needed to be fasting or not. I have meds that I need to take but didn't want to mess up my testing. Thanks in advance for your help!

I would call. My surgery coordinator submitted on March 6th, insurance actually approved me on March 7th. I called the insurance company on March 11th and was told that I was approved. Still no word from my doctors office and when I did call they just said be patient because they just submitted it. March 13th I called insurance company and had them fax over my approval letter then faxed that to my doctors office. The doctors office then called and scheduled all my testing and set surgery for March 31st on that same day. My point is if I had called on the 7th like I wanted to I could have had my surgery a week sooner. If I had waited on my doctors office I would probably have been just getting notified some time next week and would be having surgery in April if there was even room for me then. So make the call.

I was wondering about the Unjury Cheese sauce. I have the plain and chicken soup. I was attempting to add some options that weren't sweet. Thanks for the reviews!

Thank you all! Hope those of you that are still waiting for approval get word soon. I know it can be frustrating.

My surgery date is March 31st. Pre-op testing and start 2 week diet March 17th, education class March 20th, meeting with surgeon March 24th, then surgery March 31st. It seems like it takes so long to get to this point and then it's like BAM, surgery. Insurance approval was very quick, my paper work was submitted on March 6 and approved March 7th. My approval letter did not arrive however, until yesterday but I was able to call my insurance provider on Thursday and they faxed it right over to me. I then faxed it to my provider and they set me up with all my dates. I'm very excited (not so excited about the pre-op diet but no pain no gain). There were times that I thought I would quit the program because everything seemed to be at a stand still but it's moving quickly now. Glad I didn't quit. Hope all goes well with you alls' surgeries and recovery. See you guys on the losers bench!

I called my insurance company and got them to fax over my approval letter, then faxed that over to the doctors office and wouldn't you know... testing monday 3-17, education class 3-21, surgery date 3-31-2014... she is faxing over my 2 week pre-op diet plan today and said to start that on the 17th also...Beyond excited and terrified too.

Yes I called yesterday but today. I am planning to call back around 3 today. They just keep saying they have no word from the insurance company yet. It's kind of frustrating when you have called and been given the green light and the clinic stalls you.

Well guys, still no word from the clinic yet but hopefully they will be calling me soon with the next steps of the process. Anxious!

Question? Has anyone run into the situation where the insurance company says you're approved but the doctor's office says they haven't heard anything yet? I recently completed my 6 month supervised weight management and faxed info over to my doctors office. The doctor told me they would submit last Friday but they submitted on Thursday, March 6th. Out of curiosity I called the insurance company to make sure the doctor had submitted and was told I was approved for 2 nights, April 14 & 15. I called the doctors office yesterday to find out what else I needed to do and was told still no word yet and that it was just submitted and I should wait. Does it take a while for the insurance company to submit paper work back to doctor's office? I'm probably just being anxious but inquiring minds want to know. Also, is the date the insurance company gives you the date that surgery will definitely take place? How did this part of the process go for you guys and what were the next steps for you? Questions, questions, questions

Thank you. My doctor would like me to be under 300 lbs before surgery and because I was losing so slowly she suggested trying it. I have a week to decide. Your comment makes sense to me. Thanks again.
