    Where to shop?

Macy's and jcpenney clearance rack. Plus on the sale days there process are really comparable to places like tjmaxx for professional clothing
  2. I'll pm you zedqueen, so we don't hijack her thread lol
  3. Your story sounds similar to mine, except no broken MT or anything. I just had the bypass Thursday 1/15.

    January RNY Surgery

thin-for-kidney, there is no way under the sun I was going home the day after. Let those nurses and technicians take good care of you. If you leave on a Saturday. You'll be able to get all your meds. The hospital pharmacy is closed on Sunday and not many pharmacies have liquid oxycodone. Or whatever they will want you to leave on...

    Smoking...

Are you using for medication or recreation? I would stop and let the doctor know your symptoms....

    January RNY Surgery

Thin-for-kidney, doing well. Still in hospital. Surgeon is conservative and likes to have all her patients tolerating meds orally. And tolerating a full liquid diet before leaving. I'm like when is the last time I just laid around and relaxed and took care of myself???

    Goodbye Lane!

My last "none of my clothes fit. HELP!" panicked shopping trip happened at Macy's. Couldn't bring myself to walk through the door
  10. Kindle, I think if you can stop and stay stopped at will, you were never an addict to begin with. Addictions do start with habits, so it's advisable to be careful as you know. VSGAnn2014, same boat. Sugar in the afternoon / morning will most assuredly land me making poor food choices into the evening. Same with alcohol, I always end up making food choices I regret when I have too much to drink or end up drinking later into the evening.

    help! so nervous! advice?

xmaleengyx, sometimes I worry about people being nervous about upcoming stressful events they want to trim down for. I would say to refocus your thoughts on being well. This decision is for you. I'm sure your friends would rather see you healthier and thinner rather than unhealthy, fat, inebriated for the sake of "having fun." There will be other parties and so many other things to celebrate in this life. You are relatively young and if you can't envision a life with alcohol as the focal point of a party or celebration (for life) maybe talking more time to think isn't a bad idea.
  12. After surgery, did you sleep in the bed with your mate/spouse or did post up in a recliner or guest room etc etc?

    2 days until surgery

I go tomorrow, so I'm right there with you QueenieB! I bringing my phone, headset and charger. Chapstick, gas-ex strips, a pillow for the ride home and little maternity belly bander And a book for the 2 hour wait before surgery. The hospitals have everything else in terms of toiletries. Tell the prep nurse/tech and they will supply you with pads. Or whatever they want you in. Girl, your whole body is about the be cut open, I don't think there is a such thing as TMI...LOL Good luck!!
  18. If you are at a provider's office by the time you see the NUT they would not be wasting their time with you if they thought or knew your insurance wouldn't cover. If your BMI is over 40 you should be fine with no co-morbs. Hey, we are having a support group for people in Bothell at the Lyon's den cafe on Sun 1/25 at 3pm. Its open to anyone pre or post surgery and welcome to all types WLS as well. Join us!

Pre-Op Liquid Diet gained weight? Help

Time of the month? More water?
  20. I'm a vocalist and I posted about returning to singing and was told by a couple of folks that the could sing in a week or two. Regarding your embouchure and throat, I've requested the anesthesiologist use a scope while placing the intubation tube. Most hospitals allow you to request a particular anesthesiologist and are receptive and try to accommodate. I'm going to ask for the chief of service. You don't want them yanking it out. I personally want extreme care with the pipes/throat. Of course there is no guarantees, but I just wanteded these things in place just in case for this and other reasons...
  21. Congratulations!!! I go in tomorrow.

    Hours away....

    Keep us posted...
  23. To the discussions above I will echo that its not effortless but malabsorption is malabsorption with the bypass and that reality is everything you consume will not show up on your body. Hwoever, if you eat the wrong things you could possibly dump. James M. had the bypass and I have seen record of his diligence to his program on this site and he has gotten results. Work and making a concerted effort is different than struggling. We all struggled with our weight. Most for a lifetime. Our tool has to be a tool for us not a solution.
  24. People that know: My s/o My mama Three work folks 6 friends of many, none of which have obvious food issues. 1 friend who my s/o leaked it to on accident I'm pre-op and figure everyone didn't need to know before. I dont want to hear about your momma's hairdresser's sisters cousin who had weight loss surgery. Not of interest. I'll probably tell some folks who ask later. This has been a totally switch for me as I get closer to the date ie the day after tomorrow. I wasn't planning on telling anybody. What I noticed when my plan was accidentally leaked was that I was initially very angry and then ASHAMED. I didn't want to be that fat person. That fat person that was so out of control she needed surgical intervention. Well the truth is I am that fat person. I'm that fat person that managed to loose weight once (140 lbs) and gained it all back. I'm that fat person that many celebrated previously and now have gone back to looking past. I'm not publicizing it, but I ain't lying either. Not my first time at the rodeo. Everyone who is fat will deal with those deep shameful feelings or keep eating. It's not required to disclose your information to work through your feelings obviously, and some days I will regret my decision perhaps to disclose. Who knows. For now I'll work on my snappy confident lipstick lady-esque comebacks and keep it moving. PS. Friends have been nothing but supportive. I think my tribe would never be anything but.....Good luck!
  25. Kellsbells, no way do you look like you're pushing 60! Stop lying! lol
