    DONE with the comments!

It's all good. Everybody's going through the same stuff. :-)

    Feeding my family?

You could do soups in the crock pot and chilis. Creamy tomato soup and grilled cheese (for them). Black bean soups with guac and grilled fajitas (for them). Shrimp bisque, soft grilled chicken thighs over Cesar salad with grilled bread (for them). I did an egg drop soup with soft eggs, and peas and potstickers and sauteed broccoli and shrimp (for them). Split pea soup with ham and chopped salad (for them). Get where in going with this?.....

    sleeve and food addiction

I already picked my cross over addictions....shopping and porn!!!! Lol sorry that was no where near honest! I thought the humor could help. I am planning to get involved in some exercise groups and hopefully develop if not an addiction a serious obsession!....Do check out Geneen Roth. All of her work is stunning. I put it down for a while and come back to it and always find it relevant. And Overeater's Anonymous would save a seat for us, too!
  4. I'm happy to chat. You can PM me here. I'm 1 week and a day out. You can do this. It's normal to freak out. It'd be weird if you weren't....You can do this! So many have gone on before you and have done this successfully. Look up the before and after pics on this site for motivation. You got this!!! :-):-) :-) :-) :-)
  5. I made strained soups like shrimp bisques, cream of chicken. Made egg drop last night. Smoothies. Unjury chicken soup protein powder is great. I like the dannon fit toasted coconut yogurt. Unflavored protein powder is good. Synthrax Nectars are good for fruity options. I've not been into chocolate lately. May give it a whirl today. Just being open to my taste buds right now . I've not have any nausea or vomiting...I think they are doing a good job for now.
  6. My 4 year old had already surgery herself at 2. Tonsillectomy. She had a fundamental understanding that surgeries make things better. I chose not to tell her before. I told her I visiting a friend. I told her the night I returned. I showed her the scars. They explained perfectly why there will no jumping on mama....or rough play....

    Getting Close to Surgery

I'm not sure if you meant to but you posted in the bypass forum.....with your low bmi the sleeve should be a fine choice. But to you and your doctor will ultimately make the choice. I'm sure ppl have had similar concerns and we have a beautiful search engine....this is an amazing tool....

Congratulations on the early success!!! :-) :-) :-)

    Chia seeds

They do not become soft. If you chew you will encounter the seed. Grinding is not necessary to reap benefits. Pre soaking would be best to avoid stomach swell. I like them. I used to make puddings with almonds milk and fruit and a sweetener for dessert...

    January RNY Surgery

Not piping hot, I let it steep and it was decidedly warmer than cool. I'm not drinking anything lukewarm or tepid.

    January RNY Surgery

Hey, I discovered a tip for getting water down. It seemed like no matter the size swallow, even drinking I always had this choking sensation at the bottom of my esophagus/chest/throat.....hot tea! For some reason the heat relaxes those vessels. I was able to sip a full cup of tea without feeling like I was dying....

    Email from Cousin

You'll do great....and yes we all have to use the tools your cousin mentioned. You just also happened to select weight loss tool 2.0 as well for your mission. You were well aware of the resources you would need on the journey moving forward. Do you. :-)

    Post-op tomorrow yeah!

Take it slow. One moment at a time. Ask for what you need. From everyone. Try not to be surprised by anything. Welcome to the beginning :-)
  14. For me the problem with premier is that it's too thick and then its too bland and too sweet. Its at least what my post op taste buds are telling me. My NUT approved mixing half an 11oz container with nonfat milk. It thins it out. Too add a chocolate punch, I add a scoop of unsweetened cocoa powder. Now it's got a depth of flavor and the bitterness that I like in my chocolate. Add back in a little sweetener or sf syrup....but I'm newly post op at home and have time for that kind of stuff. But it's so much better know......

    Heavy, cement feeling in body

Catdaddy, I love that you are on patrol looking out for people.... :-)
  16. I also downloaded the Eat Slower timer app. You can set it to train you to take longer bites. I also try and look at my four year old and how she eats. She takes such slow tiny bites and has all this business between bites. Wiggling, asking questions, going to bathroom, feeding the dog from the table. She leaves half her food...and goes about her business of playing. I never ask her to eat more like I was as a kid. I just feed her every time she asks for food. It's truly amazing to me. We don't arrive broken. Families can nurture or nature a food problem. We are not biological related and I don't think she'll have my problems if I can get my eating habits in check. I've always eaten fast prior to surgery because I've wanted to eat over my hunger sensations. I didn't want to know if I hungry, full or satisfied. Most times I would sit down for the meal already full or satisfied and I would eat seconds and thirds on a what could already be considered the second dinner in the first place!! I've heard ppl talk about eating until satisfied not full but my set point was eat until misery set in. That's when I felt I was worthy of getting up. Then I would wonder why I was so always so exhausted....sorry for the rambling..... :-)

    Recovery Movie List

I'm usually not the sit around kinda girl, but I am looking forward to watching some movies during my time off work.....after I finish reading the Hunger Games trilogy. I've got a treadmill in my bedroom, so I can see myself getting really cozy in there..LOL Any movies I should check out or that you enjoyed while you were convalescing???? So far I've got: Long Walk to Freedom Divergent Captain Phillips Osage County Her
  18. I know. I know gowalking.......I'm definitely happy I made this decision for health and quality of life reasons. Maybe I came off as a weight loss surgery rookie asking about goal weight right out the gate, but I'm not. Well, I am new to the surgery part of it, but I've lost 140 pounds and kept it off within 15 pounds prior to having surgery....for 8-9 years.... I'm bored and home for several weeks just striking up conversation..being a chatty Cathy, but thanks for the reminder.... :-) not planning a weigh in for a while..

    Smoking weed pre op

You'll be fine. Munchies depend on strain. Addiction is a potential issue as far as transfer addictions go but not likely. A topical salve and acupuncture can help with the pain just a effectively. You will likely need less as the weight comes off....Good luck.
  20. Yup. Just go with the flow as with any research I would throw out the very best and very worst. They are not the norm. I needed pain meds but they just made me so sleepy and less aware. Everyone's tolerance is different. But you will need an IV to get these medicines and the anesthesia but that's the least of it really....
  21. Good Luck! You are stronger than you think.....Go get 'm!!
  22. So, about two years ago I bought this house with a pool...yeah, it would be nice to not freak out every time swimsuit time comes rolling around. I'm always trying stuff myself into something random and horrible and during parties instead relaxing and enjoying friends I usually had been so focused on food and stuffing my face.....ready to let that go.....
