I live by myself and used to taking care of myself. My mom (who is in her 80s) offered for me to stay with them by I think that would drive me crazy. My house is one level, there's is two. They don't have the cable chanels I'm used to, etc, etc, etc. I'm glad you posted this since this came up just yesterday. I told my mom I'll let her know.

Go to www.collagevideo.com if you like working out at home. They have hundreds of videos according to your fitness level or whatever you are interested in. You can look at a short video to get a snapshot of the workout.

According to this I am a large frame. Now' date=' my wrists don't look "fat" but...thus obviously wouldn't be accurate if they were chubby![/quote']
I would definitely go by NIH

I called Cigna and they told me that if I were to have lost a lot then it wouldn't be a need for surgical intervention. They said if anything it would benefit my request for approval and prove my struggle with weight loss. Suprised! I submitted to Insurance today too. Now im excited. That's awesome BJ. Keep us informed!!!!!

Has anyone ever been told they were big boned and would never be skinny? I've been told this my whole life and I do have broad shoulders so I'm a little afraid that when I do lose it won't look like it or ill still look big. I'd just like to be able to wear bracelets or a watch. And maybe be able to pull off a halter top or strapless once in my life. How did your surgeon's office describe you during your surgery appt? I always thought I had a large frame but they told me that I had a medium frame.

It also depends in which Cigna plan....requirements vary significantly from plan to plan....don't freak yet! Good luck!!!EXACTLY!!!!!!!

Cigna has the requirement of either 3 months supervised weightloss or 10% total body weight loss. I was warned by my surgeon's office very strictly that I could not gain weight during this time. Stay the same or lose. I'm sorry to say you may have a hard time with insurance. It might be worth trying this again for 3 months to start that part over.I too was told by my surgeon's office not to gain, to stay the same or lose. I specifically asked if this is for insurance and they said NO, they said your surgery outcome is better if you don't gain. As I mentioned before MY CIGNA INSURANCE doesn't require that you lose and doesn't give you a choice between 3 months supervised weight AND exercise or 10% weight loss. They require the 3 months period. I would suggest talking directly to Cigna insurance because you'll get all kinds of answers on these forums that are inaccurate and drive yourself crazy.

I think they want you to lose 5-10% of your body wt...to see if you can adhere to the diet after surgery....Vicki the Cigna policy I have doesn't require that you lose 5%. I have an employee who has the same insurance and did not lose and was approved. It depends on the policy. Since the OP said they weren't required to lose then they don't have to lose 5%.

I have Cigna and gained as well. My surgeon's office said that some insurances will deny you if you gain but that Cigna is not known to deny for weight gain.

You need to give them a call and get clarity. That's what they're there for.

I had to do 3 months and was ready to turn every thing in after that third month and like the other posts, my Simeon's office staff told me it would most likely be declined because they count the first visit as zero. So I will have four visits. Makes sense.

It depends on your insurance requirements. For my insurance I didn't have to lose any weight.

One answer you might want to add is the Book, "The Big Book on the Gastric Sleeve".

I've loved laughing cow before I even considered surgery. There's so much you can do with it.
Sugar?

My NUT said no to all forms of sugar except stevia and truvia. She said no to organic honey and agave. She said it has the same impact on your blood sugar as white sugar. The artificial stuff she was against but I stopped myself almost a year ago.
