  3. if you're continue to take your meds crushed, add them to applesauce. It will mask the bitter taste.
  4. I had great success with the band. The hernia messed it all up for me. I lost 90 lbs the first 9 months with the band. Started at 365; lowest was 250; currently 329; goal 215.. ill keep u posted with updates. Add me as a friend so its easier to find you.
  5. No slippage but developed a hiatial hernia and had to get unfilled. Couldn't keep anything down while filled, even spit was difficult. Hoping for a late nov, early dec surgery date.
  6. Submitted to ins co this week. Waiting on answer
  7. i was a bag of nerves when i got my band done. Right before surgery they gave me a shot through my IV and made everything better! lol It was instant happiness and worry free.

  10. I'm 26. waiting for my nutritionist to clear me so I can submit paperwork to insurance. I'm happy I found this everyone here is older.
  11. Amazon.com is your best friend
  12. I'm on gummies now and they're gettin to the point I gag when I chew them. I'm gonna go back to chewable a for a bit then back to liquid
  13. Does anyone else mix their LIQUID vitamins with their drinks, water, or shakes? I usually mix my multivits with my shakes. I just get tired of the tastes after a while. No matter how good its tastes i just cant seem to be satisfied and grow tired of the tastes and they become unbearable. I've been through them all (brand and flavor wise)
  14. Sorry to hear this. Its scary and is making me double guess the RNY. In my opinion your best bet is going public with the mainstream media. Contact everyone and anyone that's involved in with the media. The story will get around and hopefully to the ear of some people that may be able to help.
  15. That was my mother prior to getting banded, horrible support. After I came out ok and lost a lot of weight she was happy. Now I'm in the process of getting the RNY and she's unsupportive again. It's just natural human reaction to potential life threatening situations involving someone they love. (Psychology major)
  16. Story of my life prior to being banded, most likely after I get the RNY
  17. I've read a few articles online and came across this one, as it was the most intriguing. One can only speculate its truthfulness or not but sounds pretty convincing. http://www.marksdailyapple.com/dear-mark-how-much-protein-can-you-absorb-and-use-from-one-meal/#axzz2fANgfJo9
  18. Does anyone have links or literature to this theory that we only absorb 30g per sitting. Not that I don't believe but I'm a skeptical person and I require hard proof to believe anything.
  19. How'd you train/prep for this? Did you run constant or did you walk to catch your breath?
  20. Does anyone add an extra scoop to bottled protein shakes? Instead of having your typical 30g of protein per bottle your getting 60g with that extra scoop. Just checking to see if I'm the only one; Hopefully not.
