    Just MY crazy mind?

I can't say I disagree with you. I didn't write a note to anyone, but I did fill out my advanced directives. I told my family about those directives and what to expect if something happened to me. Best wishes!!!

    When does it stop

I stopped my pain meds after day four. Hang in there!!!!!
  3. My tastebuds have changed as well. Everytime I swing my by local GNC they give me samples of stuff to try. I found that I could tolerate the "Jay Robb" brand of protien powder. I mix it with 12oz of soy milk. I also can't stop eating green olives.

    made the decision!

Congrats on your decision!!! Continue to prepare yourself for your surgery. Be pro-active, soak up as much info as you can. Start exercising. Attend a support group if you have them in your area. Best of luck!!!

    exercise?

I started walking the day I got home from the hospital. I wasn't cleared to lift weights until my 10th week.

    Is it right for me?

The surgery will only do so much. The rest is up to you. I have co-workers who have had WLS and have regained most of their weight back. One of them was looking for a "quick fix." It doesn't sound like that is what you are looking for. I hope you find what you are looking for. Best of luck!

    Hospital Hair care

I had 12" of hair on the day of my surgery. I put it in a ponytail. The day after surgery a student nurse washed it and combed it for me. I kept my hair for a month after surgery and had no issues with it. I have since cut it and donated it to Wigs4Kids.

  13. Great article. People at work compliment me all the time about how good I look, ( I am down 95pds) but in mind I'm saying: "What are these people talking about, look at me, I'm still huge." My brain hasn't caught up to my body yet. I don't know if it ever will, they say we are our own worst critic. -gmanbat, I am going bowling tomorrow for the first time in forever. I can't wait!!!
  14. I am sorry to hear that. I wish you well!!!

Are you eating all protein ?

Here is a typical day for me: Vitamins and Water the minute I get up. Next, supreme Protein bar or Jay Rob chocolate Protein shake and my Calcium citrate with D3. Next up is more water. Next snack is 1 serving of nuts (sunflower, almond, walnut, or pistacio) Next up lunch, lately a very small salad with dressing on the side and calcium citrate. Next more water or 10oz of Nature's Best Isopure. Next snack is Health Wise bbq crunch or Ranch crunch protein chips. Next up my weight or cardio workout. Then at home I eat a serving of canned tuna or chicken with light mayo. Later it's a serving of frozen fruit slightly thawed. After that 1 oz of shrimp or a Protein Bar and calcium citrate. Next, water and vitamins. I am usually in the 900 to 1600 calorie range and the 60 to 100 gram range of protein. My day all depends on my little baby stomach.

    I have arrived in One-derland!

Congrats on all the success!!! I have lost 8 pant sizes so far, but haven't really noticed any muscle tone yet. Two days ago I ran a 5K race. When I get to my goal weight I am going skydiving and hangliding.

    Stalls, Cravings and Tummy Rumbles

HI, Sorry to hear about your struggles. My go to treat has been sugar free popsicles. May I suggest this book: The Weight Loss Surgery Coping Companion: A Practical Guide for Coping with Post-Surgery Emotions, by Dr. Tanie Miller Kabala, and Tracy Lee Rosen. It sounds like you need to work on the emotional aspects of the surgery and this book fits the bill. This is just my humble opinion but I believe that WLS is 10% physical and 90% mental. I wish you the very best in getting over this temporary stall.
  22. The pre-op diet is very hard, but it sounds like you are doing great. Keep up the good work!! You can do it!!!!
