Hi, I am set to have my RNY on 10/22. This whole journey my hubby has been scared about the post op me. My mother had this surgery 12 years ago. She lost her weight, found a bf, and divorced my dad. They were married for 20 years. I've been married for 3 years but with my husband for 10 years. We have 2 kids together & I am so in love with him as I was from the start. He is so scared I will be like my mother and hurt him. I know I would never do such a thing.. I love him & I adore our life we've built together. How can I make him realize I'm not going to do that? He is so sure it will happen. =(

Im so scared that I am going to stretch my pouch! Its my #1 fear! My 1 week post op appt is tomorrow I will talk to them about it. Anyone else scared of stretching?

I cant find anything on here and I forgot to ask my dr... when can we resume driving?

Im 2 days post op, and the pain is nothing to joke about. I've had many surgeries including 2 c sections & this one takes the cake. It is very very painful. But it does get better with walking and passing gas. I dont feel hungry at all but I am forcing myself to take in the liquid diet I was told to follow. It gets better everyday.

Hi everyone! Had my surgery done 10/22 @10AM. I did great during surgery I was told, but recovery is very rough. Lots of gas, just barely farted for the first time about 10 mins ago. Pain is bad & I can't sleep much. I am sched to go home in about 5 hours but I'm going to ask my doc to let me stay 1 more night. I just know I won't get to rest at home. I have a 7 y/o son & a 3 y/o daughter.

Thanks everyone. I'm in a lot of pain. My incisions are very high and i have alot of gas pains. Did well in surgery though. Been up walking & hope the catheter comes out in the AM so i can walk comfortably.

I think his fears aren't stemming from insecurity or issues. I think its just fear of the unknown.. and it looks like a few other women on here have husbands that share his fear..

I dont need to "save my marriage" or kiss my husband's butt. I'm just basically asking women who have a normal, healthy marriage how they dealt with their husband's quite understandable fears of the unknown that lies ahead post-op. My mother's situation has alot more background than I mentioned, but I know for sure I would not follow in her footsteps.

I'm scared of the death aspect too.. but if I stay big, and don't do the surgery, I could die from being so obese also. It's worth the risk, most definitely.

YAY!! Im scheduled for October 22nd!! Start my preop diet on thr 8th & bloodwork/ preop appt is on the 15th! Im so excited its finally happening!!
