Took my son through McDonald's so he could get a smurf happy meal. He was talking about what a smurf feels like. Finally, I said, "Riley, that's a weird question...I don't know what a smurf tastes like!"

I see this post is a month old....now I'm in the same boat. I'm 5 days out now too and LOVE cttge chz. I'm curious what your doc ever said about it?

Thank you. That does help. The thought of having to go back to work Monday is horrible! My mom has to take me to the store tomorrow so maybe I'll feel better getting out. Thank you. I just keep reading all the good postings and wonder if I'm the only one feeling bad. Anyway...hope everybody else is doing great! -

Well, sort of. I have a plan that says 1 wk clear liquids 1 wk full liquids 1 wk pureed foods 1 wk soft foods Then normal. But, I have to see the doc each week to see if I'm "ready" to move up or not. So, this first week is actually going to be like 8 days or so of clear liquids. So, are they just combining clear and full liquids for you cuz its two weeks before seeing the doc? Idk. Sounds pretty close either way.

Agreed! U start to wonder if it was worth all this. But, I've heard it is so we'll just keep trucking. You don't go back til the 15th? Are you on Clear liquids til then? I go back on the 7th. He SHOULD move me up to full liquids. I hope. This clear liquid stuff is horrible!

I'm 3 days out too. Bad gas pains and bloating. I'm a tummy sleeper too but the liquid pain meds they gave me help me sleep wherever. I know how you feel about your family eating! My whole family just went out to dinner and I'm sitting here with my SF popsicles and Water. I want some food! LOL. I've had water, Vitamin water, broth, Jello, and SF pops for three days.

Want to check on post-opers from mid to late July. My surg was 7/30 and my tummy hurts! Very bloated and gassy. Any suggestions on how to ease this or can anybody give an idea of how long this pain lasts? I want my Dilaudid back!

Painful gassy? There has to be a liquid gas x or something!? It's crippling sometimes. -
Am I the only person that did NOT have to do the two week liquid diet, before surg? Wonder why. I assume different docs do different things but it seems like everybody else has to..... 4 days and counting!

Well, 5:30 and I'm on my way to the hospital. Feeling okay. Little nervous. Just worried about my son. I just want to get this done! Everybody wish me luck and keep me in your prayers. .....and good luck to Mia! She's an hour behind me!

6am. Next morn. Just went for walk. Stomach is bloated. Very sore. Mouth and throat are very dry. Didn't sleep good, at all.

Good luck you two July ops for the 31st! I had mine yesterday and am in my room recovering. Chapstick and gas-x are your friend! :x

Thank you everybody! Surg went well. I just got back from my second walk. I'm sore and very sleepy. But, my mom is bringing my son to visit so I'm happy about that!

7days....how are you feeling? Hope it gets better quick. This gas HURTS and my tummy and back hurt...and throat. I'm sure it'll pass.

I haven't told anybody that but that's my one fear about this! I have a 5 yr old son who's "father" is in prison. I'm all he has. Such a scary thought. But, it'll make me healthier and more active. I just want to get past tomorrow! I'll probably stay up and watch him sleep tonight.
