  1. Yay! So, I had my first set of blood work done, post surgery (3mo). My cholesterol is NORMAL!!!!! It's always been high. My fatty liver ....is GONE!!! Liver is normal! Sugar is perfect! Labs looked awesome! I feel so great just knowing that. However, vit D is low and Iron is low but I just gotta up my Vitamins. I can manage that.
  2. Thanks everybody! I do pretty good during the day but it's when I get home that's an issue. I'll get back to using MFP again. It def helped. And I should try the pedometer. That's a good idea. It's a new day...I'll try again!
  3. Interesting ...may need to try that too!
  4. Not bad on protein. Usually 50-60 a day? That includes powders. I stopped using MFP here lately. I need to start back ...badly. I just logged today and it was over 1100 calories! ! 57 on the protein. But, I also ate a Brownie. I'll start logging again tomorrow.
  5. How did you find me? I think I have two MFP accounts! I had one and couldn't remember how to get back in so I just opened a new one. LOL. Says "Rigdon3"
  6. No...I can eat 1000 easy. MFP us set at 800 but I go over often enough. I guess it just depends on the type of food! If its something that sticks around longer, but lower in calories ...you'd do better than high calorie foods that don't keep you full.
  7. It seems like, for the past few weeks, I just keep eating. It scares me! I'm on the verge of crying. I've only lost 3 lbs in the past 3-4 weeks! Considering I'm only three months out, I should be losing more right now. I buy healthy, protein foods bit eat too much. AND, I've realized sweets don't really bother me so, of course, I'm now eating junk again. I just ate a Brownie! Also, I need to exercise! And I know I have the same excuse you hear all the time ....but it's true! I get up at 6am, work from 8-5. After picking upy son, I gwr home around 5:45. Then I have to feed us and help with his homework and get his bath, etc. AND...I'm so tired by this point. I go to bed by 8/9. What do I do!? I need some help and encouragement. I'm embarrassed and terrified that I'm going to fail at this. :,(
  8. Went to my PCP today and he took me off one of my BP meds!! And said, if it's still good in a month, he'll take me off the other! Wooooo!
  9. Thank you, Elle. It doesn't help that people ask me how much I've lost, like every other day! And when I feel I didn't do too good one day, I tell myself I'll get back to it tomorrow and then "tomorrow " ends up the same. It feels like I'm falling back into my old habits. But, I guess I've gotten too comfy with losing weight that I've slacked off. Yes, I can get back on track! I hope.
  10. I'm two months post op and have lost 45 lbs. Now, first off, that sounds good when I say it and it's great to lose even that much. BUT, 15 of it was the first week. I feel like this weight is moving SO slow. And it seems like I've been eating a lot more lately. It scares me. I use MFP to log calories and I eat mostly protein but I seem to be hungry all the time again and have started eating sweets a little again. Any advice?
  11. Finally got to eat a salad at lunch! It was so good! Just lettuce, tomato, mushroom, and a tiny bit of ranch. No problems and I ate the rest for dinner . (Almost 2 mo out)

  13. Sounds like a plan! Thanks for the info too...nothing like testing what works and what doesn't. Sounds so good though!
  14. Ooooh. Sounds good. 3 hrs? Wow. Yeah, I might have to crank it up a little Think I'll try that! Thanks.
  15. She said that other man was over a year out before it happened. And she did say that, IF it was necessary to take it then I'd have to load up on the stomach meds to prevent ulcers. But, she just said she was 99.5% sure we are not suppose to take em. But, my check up is today so I'll ask the surgeon what he thinks . Thank you.
  16. Did you have to up your anti-ulcer meds? (Or whatever you take for your stomach) Nurse said you CAN take em, if its the only course if treatment but they really don't want you to b/c of the risks. I actually have my check up today so I'm going to ask the surgeon too. Maybe he can five me muscle relaxers or something.
  17. Called surgeon. Nurse said we can not take steroids! She said only of it's an emergency and that's the only way to treat the problem. But for a pinched nerve in my back, no. Said she just had a guy last week that was put on a steroid from his chiropractor and he ended up on the hospital with a huge ulcer. So, now that I've bought the Rx, guess I can't take it. So, heating pad and pain meds it is.
  18. My doc (not surgeon) just prescribed a steroid dose pack for me b/c of my back but he mentioned possible weight gain! Well that's the last thing i want! Has anybody had to take something like this? I am debating if I should just wait out the pain and skip the meds or take a chance but I would freak if I gained weight!
  19. I love apple chips! How do you make em from the real apples!?
