  1. You are having what is known as the two week freak. It's normal and it's a sense of panic. Don't let it get you off track of this amazing life changing transformation planned for you.
  2. Depends If you are at goal. If not at goal I would t push the boat and would stay around 1,000.
  3. Common complications? I run a support group. The most common complications that I see are: - Vitamin deficiencies esp Iron -dumping and reactor hypoglycemia. -gallbladder issues and removal needed -ulcers (NSAID use or smoking) -strictures -hernias There's been a handful with -twisted bowels (obstructions), Intussusception -pneumonia -leaks -blood clots. And quite a few: substantial or total regain. This is a support group that has hundred of members. Regardless, I don't know one person who after the first 6 months, regrets surgery. Dawn
  4. I practiced all the skills I needed for post surgery before I had my surgery including; -building up a walking program -restricting portion size and intake of crap (saying no!) -sipping, drinking Water etc If you don't develop these skills, it can be a hard thing. While "willpower" may not be needed initially after having surgery, it will eventually come down to good habits and willpower for long ten success. Many people who don't make changes fail at this. Dawn
  5. Temporary. Waste of money.
  6. I'm 7 years out. Never felt the need for bariatric vitamins. Just do a regular adult multi 2x a day, iron. Calcium and vitamin d Dawn
  7. Hi there! Since I'm new to this site I thought I would introduce myself. My name is Dawn and I am from Ontario, Canada. I am 7 years post op Rny. I am a teacher and weight loss surgery support group leader. My first year past surgery can be found at diminishingdawn.com If I can answer any questions or help anyone feel free to drop me a line. This surgery will be the best thing you will do for you. That said, after a few years it gets to be much harder. The good habits you put in place in your first year or two will make or break your success! Work your surgery hard! Take care! Dawn
  8. It's the best thing you'll do for you. That said, the longer out you are, the Tougher it will be. So use your first year to two well and eat a clean as you can to get to goal! Work your surgery! Dawn .-)
  9. It sounds like you are having bouts of Orthostatic hypotension. It's actually very common. Go slllllooowww and allow your body time to adjust to blood pressure changes when you move. It should diminish over time
  10. Are there any true veterans on here? I immediately went to the veterans forum here but the definition there is "6 months or more". In wls circles a veteran is typically defined as anyone 2 years out or more. So it makes me wonder I'd there are any log timers here at all? Anyway, glad to find this forum. More than Willing to help any newbies, meet new friends :-) I'm 7 years out of rny, teacher and Canadian. Thanks for having me! Dawn
