  1. Anyone drinking Ensure as a Protein supplement? I can't stomach the powders too well anymore and I have been drinking the glucerna hunger smart shakes - 15 grams of protein but 180 calories. The ensure ones have 25 gr' date=' so I was thinking of trying them.

  2. I cleaned out my closet today. I got rid of over a third of it. I'm starting a new job on Monday and I have NOTHING to wear except for a few pants that I had. No shirts tho. I'm going to need to go shopping. I just don't know where to go nor do I want to spend a alot of money to just grow out of it. I'm not a huge fan of old navy and the Macy's and target we have are small. Marshall's and tjmaxx are awful here. I swear we get the stuff nobody wants from the bigger stores. Ugh. What to do?

    My whine of the day... Lol

    A friend of mine suggested hitting the Goodwill since we are changing physically faster and that way, we dont have to spend as much do often.

  3. Great tip! i do the same thing and i put my daily supplies in the frig down stairs si i have to make the effort and its not convient... your doing great Rhyzell63. like the mew profile pic you can see the loss in the new pic.....way to go!

  4. Biggest thing I have learned since I've been back at work? Do not....ever....think I can have any Snacks at my desk. New rule for me is pack for the day with no contingency nibbles regardless of their health value. Even a small bag of plain chex for dipping hummas must be packed daily versus a sandwich bag that is supposed to last all week. Just getting that confessional out..

  5. I keep hearing I should try it. I just have a hard time with even the thought of it. meat is way more than I can handle with the chewing... I can imagine I would need to chew Jerky much more

    Beef Jerky helps me too. It gives my jaw muscles something to work on and it seems to help me get full quicker. I'm bad to stress eat so knawing on jerky like a cave chick works for me. ;o)


  6. Me too! I thought I was just being strange but I realized that I'm enjoying spicy food more that I did presurgery. And I've had a few stuck episodes recently but I never get stuck with food that has a kick. I wonder why that is?

    Maybe spice gets the digesyive juices going?

  8. Well im not home yet from my 1st post op support group meeting. had to comment that this a great group of people all very positive and supportive.

    Also my nut stayed late so we could get an offical weigh in tonight. soo the results since my last one several weeks ago an additionsl 24 lbs.....yipee

    This is the reason i only weight my self every 3 or 4 weeks. its christmas in July Folks!!!!.that brings my "official total since my first doctors appt at the end of sept 2012.....97 LBS.......WHAT!!! THATS RIGHT 97 LBS!!!!

    Im hell bent on breaking 100 lbs by August 9th. thats the next time i see my surgeon....

    Wendsday this week im 6 weeks post op

    i was starting to think it was just me. im actually doing well with soft foods refried Beans. veggie chili. its the " real food" that is problematic, and i chew it until it a pureed consistance.

    i think it may be baked products? breads, tortillas not sure why but it appears when ever i have an issue some baked was involved. im going to stay away from them this week amd see what happens.

    Just to be clear im talking about one small bite and im feeling it.

    My Doc said to avoid soft baked products due to bread balling possibility. I eat the small multigrain Townhouse crackers with Roasted Red Pepper hummus with no problems (other than having to count the number I eat. LOL) but am deathly afraid of bread at this point. He said well toasted breads and hard crackers were OK.

  10. No not as far as group lunches and parties go. Its been just an average day thwrw. Thats why I'm irritated with myself. Thwre ia no obvious reason for the need to fees. :(

  11. I am able to not worry about eating or being hungry a home with no problem (I'm active too!). I pack my food for work with no problem. Being at work, however, makes me want to eat! I'm a librarian for goodness sakes and parts of my job are fun. Why am I so mentally hungry when im at work and doing stuff there?

  12. No drinking 30 minutes before a meal and 30 minutes after a meal. I struggle with this! I always feel thirsty when I eat!

    I have trouble with this as well. I've a lifetime of drinking with my meal.
