  1. Exactly how I was feeling. I had to have my age 50 colonoscopy and since I was having trouble tossing Cookies, they did the upper too. Lower was clean as a whistle (as I predicted) so that verified the blood was from the ulcer. Wel, it turned out to be a baby ulcer and honkin' huge ulcer. Go now before whatever is causing the problem gets worse. Good Luck!!!!

  2. OK Peeps... Sorry I've been absent. Life.. you know how it goes. I'm a little bummed and need some advise to get my head back in the game. I'm eating OK.. staying close to guidelines but my weight isn't dropping anymore. Granted. I'm exercising on a regular basis and the whole Muscle is heavier thing is there but DANG... I'm down to 183-185 range and while thats not a bad thing, I had hoped to lose a little more... like around 20 lbs more. My surgiversary is next week and I have lost just over 70 lbs this year, just over a hundred since I made the "big decision" and 115 from my highest. I drink one to two shakes a day, eat one to two servings of Protein cereal and a protein bar if I don't get my second serving of shake. I average about 80 grams of protein a day and just what I listed alone is about 900 calories. Doesn't leave a lot of room for real food (Calorie wise) so I usually go over a bit. Is there a solution to getting past my stuck? I can feel my ribs and hips. I have a jawline now and cheekbones. Should I just accept that I'm where I am and pull up my big girl drawers about it?

OH yeah.. and Peanut Butter is the bain of my existance when I can't find PB2. Sheesh! Never thought I would have a love affair with PEANUT BUTTER... :facepalms:

  3. stressful night last night made for bad choices of food tonight... bread is not my friend and i feel like poop!

my house smells like smoke, there is fire extinguisher spray all over my laundry room and a pile of my new clothes out in the snow that were on top of the dryer when the d@*^ thing caught fire :(

on the plus side my 2 older boys saved the night by catching it early, being quick to get fire extinguishers, and getting us all out of the house. I'm blessed to still have a home and a family and the rest can be replaced.

rant over... hope everyone else had a better day than me.

YIKESORAMA! So sorry you had all that happen to you! Glad everyone is safe!

  4. In short.... AMERIFLEX STINKS! My RNY doc sent a Letter of Medical Necessity for my Calcuim Citrate and Muscle Milk but Ameriflex won't accept the purchase claim without a freaking perscription! GEEZ! Their only suggestion was to find a doctor that would write a perscription for me. What is the point of having Ameriflex if you can't use it for over the counter Vitamins and Protein suppliments as well??? Especially with a Letter of Medical Necessity? I'm frustrated into tears over this. I don't need to spend my monthly allotment on medicine anymore because i am now HEALTHY due to the surgery. If I don't get to use it for these expenses, these people will get to keep a large amount of money from me at the end of the fiscal year...whch sucks. Has anyone else had this issue??? On top of this i have a freaking cold. UGH! Rhyz

WOW...I know what you mean, a few years ago you would have been able to get these items without a prescription. Why won't your doc just write a prescription? I had this to happen to me last year, I have a different flex spend account, however, I used the rest of the money getting my teeth cleaned and I purchased new eye glasses. Maybe you can use it a different way and I do believe they give extension into January, check into that. Well I hope it work out, it does come in handy, just know next year, you can elect a smaller amount.

The bariatric doc said they don't write perscriptions for OTC. I am going to use the rest of the money for glasses. That's the only thing I could think of to use it up. I'm also talking to my internist. Definitely going to elect a smaller amount next time.

It was definitely a learning experience!

  6. Just when I think I have this whole eating thing under control, I hit the holidays. SIGHS... Dang sausage balls. Bane of my existance. At least I only take one at a time. Then walk all the way back from my office to get another one. Rinse repeat. I don't get this hungry at home when I have such goodies. I am making myself wait a legit amount of time before making the trek back to get another one. I'm trying......

Want to know my goals for the next two weeks?

    1. Maintain my weight

    2. Log my food.< /p>

    3. Have anything I want as long as it is logged.

    4. Enjoy myself and not stress if the scale doesn't move

    5. Enjoy my family and friends and not worry about if I had an extra bite or something. It's life and we should enjoy all experiences.

    6. Most importantly I plan to be easy on myself and not beat myself up or feel like a failure if my diet isnt perfect.

Setting this list has been so freeing for me.

Oh id add drink my Water and get my Protein. Not worry about calories.

    I hope this helps. :)

It does help. If I can maintain my weight then I will be an ecstatic camper!

Happy Holidays to my June Post Ops peeps!!

  8. I was just thinking ( which is a rarity... Lol) that I was sleeved in June and born in the month of June... Huh... I guess that just makes me a June Bug then.. So far I lost a 126.8lbs so far. I will take that but as much walking and riding a bike and hitting the gym ; it just seems that it should be more of a loss, cause the amount of food i eat. I'm just hard on myself on things and i put others before me, but the ones that only lost 70lbs so far is great!! For some reason guys just seem to lose it faster in some cases. I just go buy the 9 rules my Doctor gave me..

    1. Three meals per day (not 5 not 2..... 3,)

    2. Do not exceed four ounces per meal ( if in doubt, weigh your food)

    3. Solids food "chew Foods", not soft or liquids foods, not slimy/slippery foods

    4. No carbonated beverages of any kind ( not even diet soda)

    5. Take at least 30 min. Per meal don't inhale it ( i have a hard time with this one)

    6. Don't eat while doing anything else ( no distraction , be aware what is passing through your lips at all times)

    7. Liquids first.... Pause.. Then solid Foods, don't mix, as space is limited, allow 30-45 min after solid foods before you take on more liquids

    8. You are in control of your weight, choose foods wisely; space is limited

    9.Renew your commitment every day!!

I was told not to count a Protein shake as a meal if i didn't hit my goal of 75g Protein, so if need be i will drink a Protein Shake two hours after my meal.

But normally i hit it with the foods i choose.

    Awesome rules!

  9. Am 3wks post ops n I am going through a really rough patch right now, i can't take my Vitamins, i am tired of stage 2 foods i feel like I want to eat everything in front of me. i am so fustrated.

P/S i need people to help me boost up not people to critize me or judge me please. So if u r ready to attack me just exit my thread. I need help!!!

I know this seems bad, but it WILL get better! Make sure to drink your Protein and drink your Water. That was one thing that I have had to learn the hard way. I seem to be hungry but when I drink some liquid, I realize that my body was really thristy. I have a hard time telling the difference so I am training myself to not eat until I have consumed X amount of liquid. My dry lips are thanking me for this as I was dehydrating myself. Good luck hon!

  10. Hi All,

I had my 6 mo appt last Thursday at Carolinas Weight Management in Charlotte, NC! I have lost 60lbs since my surgery on 6/10/13. While that isn't as much as I would have liked, I am pleased. I've hit a plateau...again...but that's OK. I still make incremental drops. I figure if I keep it slow and steady, I'll win the race regardless. :laughs: Since I made the decision in January, as of today, I have lost 92.2lbs. I'll take it!

To quote Grandpa Duck.. I'm Happy, Happy, Happy!

    ttfn,

    RJ

Hang in there RJ!! We're with you!! I went shopping yesterday and kept trying for the wrong size because have no idea what my size looks like. UGH! We CAN DOO THIIIIIIS!

  12. Take pictures of any rashes to document invade you need or want to have plastic surgery. I have heard if you have continued rashes that insurance will sometimes pay for it. It's worth letting it look bad for a bit to get some pictures.

    Great advice!

  13. I feel like I'm making the wrong choices lately. Today I had three French fries and the other day at my brothers birthday lunch I went crazy and had like 8 sweet potato fries and some lemon soufflé cake. It so hard to say no to things sometimes. The head hunger is really starting to kick in and it's amazing how powerful it is. I know tomorrow's another day and I can always start over but I just wish I could get over it and for it not to present ALL THE TIME. This is the hardest thing I've ever done. Thanks for listening to me vent.

Giiiirl, I understabd. Peanuts have been my enemy this week. Just rememver you can do this. The slip is done and gone so now you dust yourself off and work to do better. WE GOT THIS!
