  1. Mami I'm so happy you're back and things are working out well for you! Now can everyone else call a truce and let's get back to being nice to each other?
  2. Not really anymore, I'm about 3 months out. But in beginning, heck yes! I had a very sensitive nose
  3. I'm getting the date of my surgery as well as the phrase "Spread Your Wings" My auntie has told me this my whole life and it's something that helped me make it through this process! Just waiting until I hit goal weight or my one year!
  4. I'm only 2 months post op but as far as support and understanding, I think you need to just say screw it and do it. No one else has to walk in your shoes or live your life. Do what makes you happy!
  5. I'm still getting used to it but I'll try to hang around!
  6. You all look amazing! Hope I look that good five months out!
  7. I am almost 8 weeks out and was able to eat lettuce at 6 weeks. No word on dill pickles besides to avoid them due to high sodium but I have had a few bites and have been fine as long as I drink extra Water.
  8. The pink dress is me at my highest weight around 330ish pounds. Then me 7-7.5 weeks out from RNY! Feeling good.
  9. Well congratulations! Your surgery date will be here before you know it!!
  10. Had mine on Sept. 16 so I'm almost 7 weeks out and on soft foods. Just experimenting with foods. Had a bite of homemade macaroni and did fine. Chicken and ground beef have been fine. I'm down 44 lbs as of 10/28. Feeling good.
  11. AmandaLove I started my journey in November of 2012. After having my gallbladder out the surgeon told me I had fatty liver, more specifically, I had the liver of a 70 year old and he recommended WLS. That January I started the approval process which entailed: 7 nutrition visits, a psych eval, and medical clearance. In July I was denied and then approved a week later. My surgery was scheduled for 9/16/13. I did another medical clearance appt., blood work, x-rays, and a endoscopy. I'll be 7 weeks post-op on Monday and I'm doing great. No complications.
  12. Good luck Tiny! I hope things are and continue to be well! I wish you nothing but the best and have loved reading your posts! Come back soon!
  13. Hi, had mine on September 16 and as of today I begin soft foods. I actually had some last night. Cooked cabbage, green beens and a bite of cornbread. Yummy! I'm doing better with protein and water but I need to work more on water! Energy is decent, vitamins were good until I had to start taking calcium. 6 tablets a day so I'm switching to chewables. My scale sucks and is cheap so I haven't weighed myself in a few weeks but I'm down 31 pounds as of two weeks ago.
  14. GNC has b-12 that sublingual (goes under your tongue)
  15. Chrisd I get the hiccups! I try to walk everyday but I'm not cleared for exercise until 6 weeks out and I'm 4 weeks out now
  16. Ajustice I am so sorry. I do hope that things get better you and your family. I'm sending you as many hugs as I possibly can right now.
  17. You're looking so good already!!! Good job! How does it feel?!
  18. I have a banana with my ViSalus shake and I have not dumped. I'm almost 4 weeks out. So different things will make you dump. But some have it for years and some never experience it from what I have gathered.
  19. I take Dulcolax. The pills are VERY small so you don't have to worry about them getting stuck.
  20. I honestly have no idea my soft foods just really tells me what to avoid and it's not in there but I'm too chicken to try it. LOL!
  21. The things I would do for a soft shell taco LOL
  22. I have yet to see anyone say anything less than 60 grams a day. I was told 60-80 grams a day and at 3 weeks out I'm hitting just above 30. It's a process so don't beat yourself up if you cannot get that much in rigiht away. Some can and some cannot initially. But we'll get there eventually. My goal is to get up to 100 grams to avoid the hair loss (if possible)
