  1. i know it sounds crazy, but I didn't wash my hair during the first 6 months and I guess it helped me with the thinning of my hair because I didn't perm it or anything during those 6 months and when I did wash it, it was thick and healthy although I did have the hair loss. But I've heard of people taking the vitamin Biotin...it helps the hair and nails.
  2. Im praying for you and your parents, I pray God heal your parents, build them up, make them wrong where they are weak, continue to Bless their union, in Jesus name Amen.
  3. Good luck, I know you came out with flying colors, keep us posted.
  4. Good for you, keep us updated.
  5. I am RNY patient, when I began my WL journey, I walked into my surgeons office with a made up mind to have lap band, I chose lap band because I felt that I didn't have over 100 lbs to lose, but because of my co-morbidities, such as GERD, severe acid reflux, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, knee problems, borderline diabetic...all due from my weight, he suggested RNY. After I researched the difference between all of the tools, I would have ended up having revision because of GERD. I know people who had the sleeve, still suffer from GERD...but remember, research, know that everybody journey is different, that these are tools, and believe in your decision.
  6. The time will fly by once you get a date, but until then, keep doing your research, research, research...
  7. Welcome to this awesome group of losers.
  8. Congrats on your revision. Yes, you can dump anytime, I'm 7 months out and just had my first dump last week after eating dry Frosted Flake cereal...I thought I would be fine because previously, I ate other stuff, I was testing my limits...never again, I don't like the dumping.
  9. yes, if you had FMLA, then you have a case.
  10. it sounds like you were to return in five days, that's why you received the text messages, if that's the case, according to HR Rules, as it relates to unemployment, your chances are 50/50, if the mediator considers your health at that time of return....speaking from HR side of things.
  11. You will win, get your paperwork from your doc office stating you were under doc care and make sure you have a copy of your leave of absent or anything that states how long you will be off work. Companies like this try stuff like this. Good luck.
  12. I wish you well regardless which surgery you chose. Make sure VSG doesn't make your GERD worse. I wanted the band at first but because of GERD and acid reflux, that was not possible. Make sure you read post from VSG group, see how some of them functioning with GERD after VSG. Be Blessed. By the way, I'm happy with RNY...
  13. Dont be terrified, there are way more success stories than horror stories, as long as you follow the plan you will be fine. I don't think this forum is to scare you, it's to make sure you know the good and the bad, remember, everyone is different.
  14. I will pray for you all, here I am worrying about getting to my goal weight, I need to be thankful I had no big complication. I'm only 8.5 months out and I do worry about my teeth, I have beautiful teeth, almost perfect, no cavities and I'll be 44 this summer. Someone who had RNY many years ago told me to never stop taking my vitamins, that this is key, that's why I try to stock up on vitamins even when I don't need any.
  15. Congratulations, and welcome to life changing experiences, positive experiences.
  16. Me to, I've been at a stall for over a month, tethering between 10 lbs...I'm 15 lbs away and it's fighting me back with a vengeance, lol...The way I look at it, I still got 6 months to reach my personal goal, it's been challenging to go workout in this cold snowed city Chicago...
  17. Thank you, these last few pounds fighting me, I've got to make some changes, lol
  18. Thank you. Keep up the great work yourself....it's a journey.
  19. Thank you, I would do it all over again.
  20. Thank you, you know it hadn't been easy.
  21. I had my 6 month follow up today (I'm really 7 months out), however, I'm doing great, thank a God. Some before and now pics.
