  1. Hope the upped dosage helps. Definitely the seeing a psychiatrist is a good thing and I hope they can find the right treatment. I take Celexa 40mg. It's been enough until now. I thought I handled the miscarriage of the twins pretty well but it's the cross country move that's taking it's toll of me. Good luck!!
  2. Is there a patient advocate at the facility? I can only recommend you ask to speak to the patient advocate. A second opinion is definitely warranted but any physician who is unwilling to help care for you and your pain issues is warranting some outside help. Prayers for you!!!
  3. This is my 1st pcs and it's taking a bit to adjust. I've cried about every day as I haven't been this far away from home in my life. Also moving from Fl to CO is a bit of a weather shocker too. Thankfully we are getting settled more and will have a house on base available the 28th so all our things can be delivered. TLF housing until then. Thank you for your kind words
  4. I use it as well. My nutritionist told me was fine. I've used since right immediately after my surgery
  5. I think the urge is still there sometimes I just have to work on it. Keep my mind redirected. Dumping really bad isn't fun and the memory of that has kept me in check. Good luck!!
  6. I think I am but my scales I've used are packed. I haven't weighed myself in months. I need to make a new dr visit on out new base and get weighed. I am very curious to know myself.
  7. I chose RNY because it is considered the Gold Standard of weight loss surgery. Just has more years of research and outcomes. Also I just wanted to take the big punch straight out the gate so that meant go for the one that I felt had the most proven results. Also I needed the treat of dumping to keep me in check. I'm a food addict and binge eat. Regardless both surgeries are proving to be safe and effective. Good luck with your choice!
  8. Today's my 9 month post op! Feeling so thankful!
  9. I'm so sorry. Hope it gets better soon
  10. I gotta say reading your post just hurt my heart for you. I'm a nurse and has never been so in compassionate to anyone! I remember the bad breath etc and it was bad at 1st but got better. I kept breath mints all the time. Was a constant with sugar free mints. I am appalled how you were treated. I have to say if anything as humiliating had happened to me there would be hell to pay! I would file a formal complaint with HR if it Doesn't get better. Hopefully you will find the right combo of things that will make you feel comfortable. I can only imagine how this weights on your mind now constantly. Good luck and just remember as terrible as it seems..this too will pass! You will be so delighted about your decision and in a few months when u look back you can certainly feel happy seeing where you came from.
  11. Hi! I would suggest to explore them all. Of course if you are leaning towards RNY there are many of us that will do whatever we can to offer help, encouragement, and as much knowledge as we can muster. There are loads of experience and some pretty awesome members on all the boards. If I personally can help or if you have any questions feel free to ask. I may not have all the answers but there's a good shot someone here can answer or help I don't personally belong to any fb pages about rny so maybe someone else here can chime in and tell u more about that.
  12. Wow 58lb is amazing!!! Welcome to the boards!!!
  13. I did the lemon juice, cayenne, and maple syrup juice diet/cleanse. Dear Lord it was the most awful thing. My colon was cleansed I suppose but I did get to where I couldn't drink anymore. I gagged every time the cup came up to my mouth. Just because it worked for Beyoncé doesn't mean it works for everyone.

My new home state has made it legal. (Co) Guess if I ever find out I will come and share. Very interesting topic!
  15. Hit really close to home for me. I've known bits about something was just off about my life but I've played a lot off as being a nurse and the type to rush and fix it. This was very insightful.
  16. So gotta check this out! Just the thought if it and that it might taste good makes we wanna try it!!
  17. Well...occasionally but a lot less since surgery. Nothing really fascinates me much anymore :/
  18. Beef jerky, almonds, taco seasoned ground beef with salsa, turkey pepperoni.
  19. Just moved from the FL panhandle to CO this week. I only thought I was freezing there! My ski thermals are my best friends! Wear them every day pretty much now. I've never really been cold even in winter and now this girl who use to beg for winter to come is begging for spring!
  20. On the RNY side there is a girl named Jerz she had a very similar story. She delivered a beautiful little boy very healthy in Nov! Congrats.
  21. Mucho love back at y'all!!!
  22. I don't know the exact answer but I can tell you my experience. I had some back pain afterwards and it got better. I also had a lot of butt pain that seemed to also go along with the back pain. It was worse when sitting. The back pain got better for me but my butt still hurts. Loosing padding I guess makes me hurt when I sit for long.
  23. Narcotic or non? Usually good old Tylenol is the 1st line they tell us. Hope your pain gets better and good luck with your upcoming surgery.
