  1. Surgery date 6/5/13 HW: 211 DOS: 199 CW: 159 P.S. I am only 5 foot tall
  2. Ooh! What did you put on them?
  3. Probiotics are supposed to be good for the diarrhea. Also you have to think, is it diarrhea, like stomach cramps and rushing to the bathroom? Or is it just loose stools? The less solid food you eat, the less solid your #2.....obviously this doesn't apply to those of you months and months out.
  4. These are really great. My fave is the one about going through the drive-thru....I thought that was my little secret move....
  5. What a nightmare. I will say some prayers for you. I've had some minor complications but nothing this bad. Good for you for standing up for yourself. Too many people trust that their docs are always 100% right! I hope things change soon for you, it will take a while for you to not regret any of this! We are all here for you!
  6. I don't crave sweets now either! It's a blessing because my sweet tooth was my biggest downfall!! ----now I just crave everything else :/
  7. I've had issues too. Tuesday I have my 2nd dilation for a stricture. I've had 2 large kidney stones. Hospitalized once for malnutrition and a couple ER visits for dehydration and pain (I had a hematoma under one of my incisions). My new Bariatric doc has threatened me with a PICC line and TPN. I have regrets but I try to remind myself that it's still early for me. (I'm a June post-op) I'll be thinking of you. MSG if you ever need to talk
  8. My parents like to make caprese tomatoes. It's a big Slice of tomato with a slice of buffalo mozzarella on top. Then drizzled with balsamic and a little olive oil and fresh basil. I ate a Slice of the cheese with a little balsamic on top. It was amazing. Wish I could eat the tomato too!
  9. Honestly, meats are pretty dense, be very careful, i still can't tolerate many meats and I'm 12 weeks out. When you do try them tho, either purée with some kind of broth or FF mayo. Refried beans and cottage cheese were my buddies at that stage. And don't cheat, I have and it's never ever worth it.....I always regret it instantly (usually cause it makes me sick)
  10. Fit into some size 12s, which I haven't worn since HS and I've finally hit the 150s which I haven't seem since 2004 when I conceived my first child!
  11. Tonight I had a couple slices of avocado mashed up, with just a bit of salt. It was great and my pouch liked it!
  12. Army wife here. Dealt with Tricare South with surgery. Only out of pocket costs were $25 for my nutritionist visit and then a little over $200 for my pre/post op kit (protein and vitamins). Auth was submitted on a Friday, I was approved by Thursday. This was all done by a civilian doc. My total bill was $61,000 which I paid none of. Yes, strangely this was one thing I never had an issue with when it came to Tricare!

Don't get the chocolate. Get the regular fat free Mootopia.
  14. I always get the munchies at night, especially if I take my sleep meds. Try to drink some water and just go to bed if you have to. The munchies are a b****!
  15. Thanks for the Birthday wishes!!! Y'all are so sweet! I found out today that I've lost 49lbs since June 5th. It's exciting, but I know it was only because I had complications that it is that much that quick. I elected to have another EGD and possible dilation next Tuesday. I prefer to prevent the problem rather than treat it! Looking forward to this time next year.
  16. Whelp, I am 10 1/2 weeks out. Had a kidney stone on the right, then had a stricture and was hospitalized for 4 days for dehydration/ malnutrition, during which they did the EGD and dilation, then got a kidney stone on the left! Hasn't been an easy run for me but I have a F/U with my new surgeon who took care of me in the hospital today. It's my b-day today so hopefully she'll tell me something good!!!
