  1. I may skip the robe and take a couple walks with the back open... if I go to tie my shoes just once while walking and I bet those nurses won't be so eager to make me walk again for a while.
  2. Did you guys get the shots in the belly for clotting? I heard those sting pretty good. Do they happen often?
  3. I know each experience is different but now that I have a date it is becoming more real. What was everyones hospital stay like. Are they poking and prodding you at all hours? Do hospitals normally have WiFi? I know I will be doing lots of walking but outside of that is it just sitting around resting while waiting for a burp or fart. What are the leg compression sleeves like? Are the uncomfortable or not too bad? Do your spouces or family members stay overnight or did they go home. Right now my biggest concerns are the catheter, drain tube and getting stuck with a roomate who wants to talk.
  4. Get plenty of rest Warrior and keep us updated.
  5. Mcdoja - I see you have Dr. Peluso.... I hope to have my surgery with her at the end of July... her whole staff is great. I was wondering how long the liquid diet would be.. one week beats two. Best of luck!
  6. Hope it is going well Warrior....
  7. I have not started mine yet but it will be liquids
  8. Congrats. Keep up the great work.
  9. I was nervous too but it was not bad at all. I took a test then we talked for 30 minutes. He wanted to make sure I was aware of potential problems and make sure I had a good support. You should do fine.
  10. Thank you ElleG... I am celebrating tonight with a protein shake... ohhh how times are changing.
  11. I should know my July date tomorrow! Look forward to interacting with everyone on here.
  12. I just got home from my three month appointment and it looks like I will officially become a loser towards the end of July! I am pretty pumped up. I cant wait to start seeing some NSVs. This fall I am going to sit in a tree stand while hunting and not praying that the 300lb weight limit on the stand was just a suggestion. So far my biggest worry is the drain tube and catheter. But it will be worth it!
  13. Good luck I hope it went well!
  14. I hope everything went well!
  15. I get a surgery date hopefully next week so too early on to be a help. Good to see other local people on here posting. I hope to find a mentor\buddy here too after the surgery!
  16. Thank you everyone. This should not be to bad.
  17. Tomorrow I meet with the shrink and then I will only have my pulmonary left. What happens at this appointment? I have a follow up with the surgeon the following week and should know then when this all can happen!
  18. My surgeon requires 9 months.
  19. I have not had my surgery yet. I am in the middle of my doctor appointments stage. Can't wait for the surgery though.
  20. Congrats.. your hard work is paying off
  21. I have just started. I have had one docters appointment and now have a bunch others scheduled. I am pretty excited to go through all of this and not very nervous yet.

Good question. My daughter and I love making homemade pickles. Glad they are ok after the recovery period though.
