  1. I was wondering what kind of pedometer everyone uses and what they think of it. Second, if it is not to personal, how much did it cost?
  2. I was switched from July 26th to July 30th. I will be just going into surgery while the rest of you July crew will be at home living the high life of shakes and puréed tuna.
  3. Well, I just got a call advising my surgery will be July 30th. My surgery scheduler advised my doc will be out of town on the 26th.
  4. My father in law makes venison jerkey with the deer we harvest every year. I will have to get extra this year.
  5. This had me cracking up.
  6. That is great! Congrats
  7. Welcome to July Nicole! It is going to be great month.
  8. Let us know what is like. I have one on July 2. Not as long though.
  9. July 26th!!!!!! I start a two week liquid diet on the 12th. I am very nervously excited. I watched the surgery on you tube again yesterday and am glad I have a doctor that I have full confidence in.
  10. My surgeon is great. I was going to do the band until I met with her. She was very honest and after the meeting I was more comfortable with the bypass
  11. I think it is easy to let ones mind start thinking about the 'what its'... what if there are complications.. what if I regain weight ...but I have found that coming up with a 'what if' goal.. mine is 'what if I am not around to walk my daughter down the Ilse'. She is 5 now and I am going to do whatever it takes to be there... that is my focus
  12. Good luck...keep us updated.
  13. Any guys out there dealing with this? I have pretty short hair so any loss is going to jump out. I definitely would trade it for being healthier but I will take all steps possible to minimize.
  14. Not many forums where this is celebrated!!! Congrats!
  15. That has to be great and so freeing on the mind. I am glad you had a great time.
  16. I know this is easy to say as I have not had my surgery yet, but I am trying my hardest to focus on the lifestyle changes as this is what is going to keep the weight off five years from now and not on how quickly the weight will come off. I know my mindset my be difficult to maintain when I hit my first stall. It is great your refocusing on diet and exercise this will help win the marathon!!
  17. That's great - have a great vacation and lose weight! Vacations have often been dreaded by me (airline seats, roller coasters) but as a family we are already planning a trip for next year and I can't wait!!!
  18. I completely understand that I need to follow my teams plan and I meet with them at the beginning of July to get all the detail. My insurance assigned my a nurse advocate to help me along also and she has helped me get my question list ready for my office team at each step. I started this thread to kind of get an idea of what may happen. I know my story will be unique and my surgeon will be the co-author of what is going to happen but i have enjoyed reading everyone story and with each one i grow less anxious about July 26th.
  19. I have an appointment in early July to get all the info from my doc but wanted to see what people have experienced
  20. The shots are to prevent blood clots I believe.
  21. Nice find.. thanks for sharing
  22. Great info, thanks warrior. My surgery is not until July 26th so I have a ways but I just got the date this week so that is why my mind stuck on what's going to happen. I go in on July 2nd to find out more about what is going to happen, but I was too curious to wait.
