  1. Bring some comfy and loose fitting clothes so you don't have to wear the gown for longer than you have to. Definitely need good chap stick and some slippers with traction on the bottom (I preferred those to the socks they give). I also showered my last day there so a few toiletries. And definitely your own pillow! Surgery: 6/26/13 HW 370 SW 320 CW 312
  2. Yeah my doctor said 5-6 small meals. A protein drink counts as a meal though. Doing it this way is the only way I am even close to getting all my protein. Surgery: 6/26/13 HW 370 SW 320 CW 312
  3. I am experiencing the same thing. I am 2 weeks post op and definitely not hungry, but I also don't feel that stuffed feeling that others say they experience after only a few bites. As I'm trying to reach my Protein goals I see that I am now getting 600-700 calories a day, which seems more than others at this point post-op. I'm scared I'm eating too much. 4. Yay! I'm at 60g. Sounds like today was a good day for us. Surgery: 6/26/13 HW 370 SW 320 CW 314
  5. Thanks everyone. I think soup is the best option! Surgery: 6/26/13 HW 370 SW 320 CW 314
  6. I have a work dinner coming up and I will be about 3 weeks post op at that point. No one at work knows about my rny. When did you all first go out to eat and what did you eat? Thanks! Surgery: 6/26/13 HW 370 SW 320 CW 314
  7. I am with all of you! Getting enough Protein seems impossible. I tried today to really get my minimum of 70g and I felt full and sick all day. I feel like to get enough protein I have to constantly eat something or drink a shake and that makes me feel awful! And these shakes are really starting to bother me. Tomorrow I am going to do some experimenting to find a decent shake combo. P.S I didn't make it to my minimum! Ugh!!! Surgery: 6/26/13 HW 370 SW 320 CW 314
  8. Could you email me at hekreider@gmail.com Thanks! Surgery: 6/26/13 HW 370 SW 320 CW 314
  9. I have some cod tonight to purée and I was wondering if anyone had some good ideas of what to purée with it. Thanks! Surgery: 6/26/13 HW 370 SW 320 CW 314
  10. What symptoms did you have from this? I had egg salad yesterday and I don't feel awful, but I definitely feel tired today and not wanting to eat or drink anything. Surgery: 6/26/13 HW 370 SW 320 CW 314
  11. Yesterday was my first day on pureed and I started off with cottage cheese and tonight I tried egg salad with light mayo. It seems to have gone down well! Surgery: 6/26/13 HW 370 SW 320 CW 314
  12. I am moving to puréed foods tomorrow. Does anyone have any suggestions as to the best way to transition? What are the best foods to start with or the worst? Also, if anyone has my fitness pal I would love for you to add me. My username is hek1127. Surgery: 6/26/13 HW 370 SW 320
  13. No drinking 30 minutes before and after eating and chewing each bite 30 times! Surgery: 6/26/13 HW 370 SW 320
  14. I am 4 days post op and still on full liquids. Does anyone know about how many grams of protein I should be shooting for each day? It's hard to get a lot in and I know once I am eating more solid foods I need about 70g, but I can't possibly get that much right now. What did you all take in during full liquid stage? Thanks! Surgery: 6/26/13 HW 370 SW 320
  15. I'm the girl in winston! Would love to all hang out sometime. Surgery: 6/26/13 HW 370 SW 320
  16. I'm officially on the losers bench now with most of you. Surgery went great and now it's time to focus on recovery! See you all in the post op thread! Surgery: 6/26/13 HW 370 CW 326
  17. I am officially on this side of our June groups! Surgery went well yesterday and not too much pain. I'm just really tired but not able to get long stretches of sleep in. Surgery: 6/26/13 HW 370 CW 326
  18. I got my arrival and surgery time for tomorrow! First surgery of the day at 8:30!! I'm so excited. The nerves haven't set in yet! I can't wait to join everyone on the losers bench. Surgery: 6/26/13 HW 370 CW 326
  19. Good luck!! I will be there tomorrow. I couldn't sleep last night too because I'm so excited. Surgery: 6/26/13 HW 370 CW 326
  20. The muscle milk light is what my nut recommended. It was the only Protein Drink I like. I would recommend the ready to drink over the powder. Surgery: 6/26/13 HW 370 CW 326
  21. Thanks! I'm so happy my week is finally here! Surgery: 6/26/13 HW 370 CW 326
