  1. Your tropical storm is headed our way tonight. It started raining lightly at dawn but the real rain will be here this afternoon and overnight, and it'll get windy. It's cold and raw here again, low sixties. I bet it's warmer in FL... I don't like temps over 70-75, but I don't like cold, rainy, and raw either.
  2. I tried falafel once and didn't care for it. But perhaps trying it for the first time at a grocery store salad bar was the problem, not the falafel itself. It might be time to try a more fresh and authentic version. :-)
  3. My gas started two days post op and lasted about 5 days. It's miserably uncomfortable but you'll get through it. I stopped taking my night time pain meds two days ago and yesterday felt pretty normal. Today I wandered around some clothing stores for two hours just looking, then I went to BJ's to pick up a few things. No pain or discomfort but I was tired enough to settle on the couch with my little dogs and get some reading done. Take it slow and don't over do it.
  4. Hummus is delicious! I love the spicy varieties. If I can't find the spicy one I mix in my own jalapeños or any hot peppers I can find. Yummy!
  5. Thanks! It seems like I eat something twice and then I'm sick of it. I need more options. And I'm not entirely sure because it's subtle, but I think I'm sensitive to food smells. They just don't smell to appealing and they seem to linger longer.
  6. She's got an evil sense of humor and she knows I'd laugh. :-) I much prefer to laugh at her as we watch the surveillance video of her falling out of her chair. Lol
  7. But that is too cute! You just might miss that one someday. :-)
  8. I'm glad I'm not the only one thought to be pregnant. Lol. :-)
  9. Is lobster or seafood bisque okay in the full liquid stage? I checked the nutrition label, sugar is low but so protein. A one cup serving, which I couldn't eat, has 280 calories - 200 from fat alone. I'm wondering if this a big dumping risk, or possibly a gallbladder attack risk?
  10. A mom is a mom is a mom. No matter how old your child is they are always a child to you. Heather is 27yrs in three weeks. I hope my girls have children so I can sit back and watch them go through everything I did. :-)
  11. Yesterday was a great day! No gas, no pain, felt really good, almost normal. I did a little pruning in my yard and took a walk. My daughter came by at one to take me to my follow-up visit in Wareham. I was still under a no-driving restriction so she drove but we took my car. It was a harrowing 45min drive in which I was constantly using the invisible passenger side brake and telling her to slow down (it's against all the laws of nature for a parent to be a passenger with their child driving!). My Heather has always had trouble with left and right so you can imagine the panic when I told her to go to the left and she went to the right, and visa versa! We made it in one piece and the appointment went quickly. I was cleared to drive!!!!!!! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!!! So I said "Heather give me my keys, I'M DRIVING HOME! The ride home was MUCH more relaxing. :-) :-) :-)
  12. I haven't been a 36c in twenty-eight years. I wondering if at my age I'll have much left to put in ANY size cup. I might have to, sort of... roll them up and drop them in! Lol
  13. Sound good! Do you think it'll work with Kahlua sf syrup? I don't have latte protein powder...
  14. I saw my surgeon 3 times. I also brought questions but after the initial visit with him. I had done a lot of my own research beforehand - I spent months doing online research and seeking out and talking to people who had the surgery. I really never had any more questions to ask so the other two visits were quick in and outs (he must've loved me!). Even my one week follow up yesterday took all of ten minutes. After he checked my incisions it pretty much consisted of "how are you doing?" "Good" and "do you have any questions" "no, I'm good". The appointments I found the most informative were with my nutritionist, who explained dietary requirements and explained what I could and couldn't eat, why, and when. And the 2 hour nurse education class that gave all the details of what to expect or do before, during, and after surgery. And the workshops that gave insight into addictions, cross addictions, and behavior modifications.
  15. You will! And it's not anywhere near as painful as I expected. Try not to worry! :-)
