  3. I'm still hormonal and I am 7 weeks out today. Right now I am crying over birthday cake I cannot have. I think a lot of this is realization I REALLY can't have these things anymore without getting sick. And I am finally making good decisions for my health.
  4. I get my Syntrax Nectar from Netrition.com. They have a flat rate shipping no matter how large the order. Price is right too. I am lactose intolerant (after surgery) and even the ones that were soy based still had milk in them. I would get highly nauseous and diahrea would soon follow. Syntrax is the only one I have found my pouch can tolerate.
  5. I purposely did not weigh myself until my first check-up as my nutritionist said it would fluctuate in the first two weeks and she did not want me to be discouraged. I did this and lost 23 pounds by two weeks out (9 lbs before surgery)
  6. I am so happy for you. I have tears.
  7. I am off Humalog and Lantus, hoping to get off Metformin.
  8. I am 61 and had my bypass on 1/28/13. I have lost 34 lbs and am off of 2 out of 3 meds for diabetes. Working on the 3rd. Best move I ever made. I already feel better and my joints are thanking me every day (I also have Fibromyalgia)

  10. I had my RNY on 1/28/13. My sugars were out of control at 200-300 every day. I used Metformin 2000 mg, Lantus 150units, and Humalog 90units twice a day. The day after surgery my sugar was over 400, therefore I had to stay an extra day. Now 5 1/2 weeks later I take Metformin 1000mg, 30units Lantus and no Humalog. Numbers are 90-130 daily. I have not had another A1C since surgery.
  11. Hi all boomers. I am 61 and am soooooo happy to see others my age on here. I started at 244 and lost 34 lbs so far. RNY was on 1/28/13. I'm slowly learning my new pouch and on soft foods now. I'm from West Chester, Ohio (north of Cincinnati)
  12. I am 63 and had RNY on 1/28/13. I had uncontrolled diabetes and on 2 insulins and metformin (gone!) High blood pressure (almost gone!) joint pain (going!) I have lost 30 lbs in 4 weeks and haven't felt this good in years. It's NEVER too late!!!
  13. Yes I have noticed a difference and it's quite annoying. I think it is due to my diabetes becoming under control. I am going to wait till about 3 months and then get a new prescription. I'll ask my dr today at my appointment.
