Deana Wright got a reaction from Wendilou in April Dates
I am scheduled for April 1st!! So excited but kinda freaking out too. Not only is that April Fools Day but its also my 18th wedding anniversary! LOL what a way to Celebrate. I told my husband he's getting a new and improved wife for his anniversary present.
Has anyone looked into getting their kitchen ready for post op. I ordered some sample supplements but I have no idea what else to get. I meet with the Nutritionist March 5th so I am assuming they will let me know then.
I am so thankful for this forum, its making this whole process easier knowing I'm not walking into this blind! THANKS EVERYBODY AND GOOD LUCK!!!

We sound similar. I'm 5'7" and 218 pounds. No one thinks I should do this. But I was 140 when I got married with a normal usual weight around 150. I don't have any comorbidities so even more difficult to justify. But I have lap band complications. I'm tired of not feeling like myself and I am looking forward to feeling like me again.

I as well am 39. I decided to do this surgery because I have struggled my entire life with my weight. One of my biggest triggers to get this surgery was also the fact that my brother died at the age of 39. This was due to a heart attack and multiple strokes. So I want to get healthy by the time I turn 40 in December. I also want to be off my medicine as well. As far as people thinking I took the easy way out, well screw them. This has already been a tough process and I am still 8 days away from surgery. I have only told my husband, mom and dad, and two friends. One of the friends who likes to tell me if I just ate less and exercised more I'd lose weight. Lol! Like I haven't done that over and over! I am going to tell my BFF 2 weeks after my surgery when I will see her on vacation.i am worried about her being judge mental, but it s what it is. As for everyone else if they ask i will just tell them I am on a strict diet and exercise program. I don't feel the need to tell everyone. I have my surgery on march 14, my pre op appt is tomorrow. Feel free to contact me also you can find me on myfitnesspal under kraney73. Stay strong. You made a great decision. I wish you the best of luck on your wls journey.

It is definitely a tool, and a lifestyle change too. I have many friends and family that have had different weight loss surgeries and there are a few that have gained some or most of their weight back. My mom had her DS over 17 years ago and has managed to maintain but she knows her limits. Other family members have actually talked about having another surgery because they have gained back their weight but all of them went back to their old habits once they were able to eat normally again. This is our chance to make a change - a permanent change. I want to set a good, healthy example for my kids and I don't want to take all these medications everyday. I know it will be hard but nothing worth fighting for ever is.
Stay positive but be real with yourself.
