  8. I had band slipage and am having rny the end of july. my dr suggested rny to begin with but insurance would not cover. im a self pay 16k. thats how important this is to me. in reference to a band as a stepping stone, i do see your point. the easy experience of the band losing 70 pounds, made the rny decision much simpiliar.
  9. make the best of the situation, i say. when is your surbery? i am asking because mine is end of july and i am getting excited. please keep us posted and i hope you have a great experience.

    Congratulations!
  12. Have any of you had RNY Surgery in Mexico? I am curious. I am doing some research for my options and my Insurance will not cover RNY. If you have or know some one who has had surgery in Mexico... What was their experience? How much did it cost? How was the follow up care. Would you recommend? Thanks so much in advance for any help you can provide.
  13. I love your response. Well thought out and excellant points. it is sad that someone in need would choose to dismiss an operation that has helped so many because of an article by one. You are an inspiration!!
  14. you look fantastic, a very handsome guy! Congratulations.
  15. You look wonderful! Congratulations. That is amazing.
  16. Great job. So proud of you!!
  17. Thanks everyone. This really helps. I am going to borrow money from my 401K if that is my only option. I am worried the most about any complications that won't be covered by my insurance. Did any of you have any complications?
  18. That cost is not too bad. Did you have any complications? I had the band, lost 70 pounds, the band slipped and I had to have it removed. I have gained back the 70 pounds. It is very discouraging to me. My insurance covered the band but will not cover RNY. I am in Cincinnati.
  19. I am considering RNY and may have to pay for the suregery on my own. Has anyone here self paid and if so how much did it cost you?
  20. I'm saddened to read of your struggles and very sorry for the loss of your baby. I am just starting this WLS journey and I hope all of us here can offer support and input in your journey. I also would suggest a meeting with your WLS Dr. I wish you great success.
