  1. My surgeons office in RI just sent over all the paperwork yesterday to the Insurance company. The waiting is killing me. They said United Health Care usually takes about a week or less. Good luck! I'm crossing my fingers as well!

  3. I'm in RI, So its a Medicare / United Health Care/Rite Care. My starting weight is 258 a BMI of 46. I had a left kidney removal in 2010. We are submitting to ins. Co on Monday after my last 3'rd Nutrition appt.

I had to do a 3 month with nutritionist, get clearance from primary doc, cardiologist, cardiac stress test, an ultrasound of gallbladder, psych evaluation, 5 yrs of weight documentation, go to 2 weight loss support groups before submitting to ins. - Monday we submit to ins. Co. I'm so excited!! Hope its a quick response. Crossing fingers.

  11. Anyone from RI, USA? I'm from Burrillville, RI. My surgeon is from Johnston, RI & my surgery will be at Roger Williams Hospital in Providence, RI.
  12. Amanda, I have finished all my tests/workup. Try were: Endoscopy Cardiologist - clearance/stress test Primary doctor - clearance/blood Gallbladder ultrasound Psychiatry evaluation - clearance 2 support group meetings 3 - nutrition consecutive visits 5 years / weight documentation/doctor Just waiting for my last nutrition visit for March 4 then all set to go!! Good luck. Don't let it overwhelm you.
  13. Thank you for the warm welcome. I'm awaiting my last Nutrition appt. On March 4 due to needing 3 consecutive visits for the insurance approval. Once I go, I call the doctor to submit and then we are a go. )) so excited.
  14. That's awesome. Good for you. I'm glad your on your way. Will it be in March or April? My surgeon's office called me this morning. They have reviewed all my tests/workup to submit to insurance. However, my insurance company in RI requires me to have 3 consecutive nutrition visits. I've had two, so my next is March 4...Then we are on our way. She told me to call the office the day of my visit and they will make sure we are a go!!! Woot Woot!!!! ))
  15. When I got my last test done, the endoscopy, the doctor performing was a charmer. Sweet, but no cigar. He says, you are having WLS? Hello, look at my chart I am 5 ft 2' and weigh 258 lbs...so I'm proportion different. Still gives me a BMI of 46...really, like we want to do this for nothing? It's to become a healthier you! I just ignore some & love the people who are supportive.
  16. Waiting upon my doctor for my second appt this week to finally get a surgery date/approval. Workup is done and waiting is killing me. We are anticipating a March date. . So excited!
  17. I'm from Burrillville, RI. My surgeon is Dr. Dieter Pohl from Roger Williams Hospital in Providence, RI. Wirkup is done and waiting for a second appt to get surgery date.
  18. Yes, sounds like we are waiting, waiting & waiting. It's hard, but in the end it will all be worth it. So glad to talk with someone so close to my journey. Hope we are close with the surgery date. I will keep you informed. Nice to meet you.
  19. Hello, I'm new to the group. Thought I would give it a try. I'm currently through with the Pre-op workout. Waiting from a call from my surgeons office today to make the second appt so we can move forward with the insurance co. Hope it doesn't take too long for a response. Need to get on with my journey to my new life.
