  1. Has anyone used Medicare for WLS? If so, what were the requirements? I have Medicare with BCBS Federal as a secondary. I was told I need to take a 3mth medicare weightloss class through my surgeons office. Is anyone else familar with this class?

  12. I have Multiple Sclerosis I wondered if I could have the surgery. From what I was told I wouldn't have any problem & my neurologist would have to give me the ok. Talked to my Neuro & he thought it was a good idea for his patient & said there shouldn't be any issues. I have been DX for 2yrs. I'm current stable. I do have concerns that I will have a flare up after surgery, it's a risk with any surgery & a autoimmune disorder. There is the option of putting the fibro or whatever autoimmune disorder on the back burner (hush hush) until after surgery. DX these type disorders can take mths or yrs & u don't want ur surgery put off till then. Also don't rush the DX or fibro. DRs told me it basically means they don't know. There maybe another autoimmune disorder that hasn't fully shown itself. Sorry for the book! Lol!

  15. I didn't take it personal at all. To each its own on the ankle weight thing. Lol! I just personally would be comfortable with it. I would be the want caught and convicted of fraud. All that to show off my new body behind bars. Lol!
  16. Hi I'm in the Taylor area. I'm trying to get the process started. May I ask what Dr u used?
  17. I have a BMI of 37. I went to a consultantion for the lap band about 6mths ago. I was told my insurance BCBS Federal would cover it, but I need to gain about 14lbs & come back. I was told I had to have a 2yr history of a BMI of 40 or above & I do. I have no co morbities. Since the visit I lost weight & gained it back & needing to gain the 14 to meet the BMI. I have decided I want the sleeve & the original Dr I had doesn't sleeve. So I have to go to a new DR, but I'm scared to go with my BMI below 40. At first gaining weight intentionally sounded crazy & out of the question, but know it doesnt seems so bad. Do I gain? Do I gain before the initial visit to the new DR?
