  1. I don't want to alarm u guys but I felt nauseous everyday for 4 months. It did eventually go away but it was seriously all day long everyday and no pills helped. Believe it or not skim milk seemed to help a little tiny bit but for the most part I just suffered. My surgeon said that some people are just nauseous and it can last up to a year. Good luck to u.

I thought it was just me feeling like this. I'm 7 weeks post op and nauseous every stinking day! My zofran doesn't help at all. I hope mine doesn't last a year! :/

  2. I've bought two. One is silver and really nice, the other one is attached to a sports band. On the front they only have my information and emergency contact and then on the back is the info about gastric bypass. No be has asked me about mine. If they do I will probably just tell them I have some medical allergic reactions. It makes me feel safer wearing it in case something were to happen.

  3. Kraney' date=' I feel your pain! I was in the hospital for 4 days last week use to severe Dehydration and severe potassium deficiency. I had been throwing up and had diareah for weeks. Spent 3 different days in the ER prior to being hospitalized. I dropped more than 60 pounds since March 5th and felt like I was dying with every pound I lost. I am still in the regretful stage because I have not felt good one day since the surgery. To make matters worse I can not find a Protein Shake I can tolerate without vomiting. I am at a point watching TV commercials with food make me gag.

I wish you well on your tests. I went thru the same thing last week and the contrast is just so hard to drink and keep down. Keep us posted on your tests and health.

Sorry to hear that you were in the hospital. I hope they got you back n track. I've been out for a few weeks now. It's still been a struggle to get Protein in. Especially Protein Drinks they all make me wanna vomit. I am just trying to get more protein through foods now and it as been a struggle. I haven't lost anything since I was released from the hospital. :/ just trying to give it time. Have my first follow up with surgeon tomorrow. Hopefully it will all go well. :) I hope you are able to keep dehydration away!

  4. We r almost all 1 month post op...how has it been for u all so far?

There r times I wonder whose body I'm in' date=' then there r times I could not b happier, there r times I'm so emotional I'm crying, there r times I want to puke all the time and its only been 30 days ;)

I'm hoping you all r having much success!![/quote']

Doing ok. Still struggling to get all my Water and Protein in. Still trying to figure out right amount of food to not make me sick. Other than that just taking one day at a time :) Hope everyone is doing well!

  5. I have been struggling with Protein since having some complications from my rny. I am still on purée stage of food. I am 6 weeks post op, but only 2 weeks out from leaking complications. I had to restart food stages. This morning I made half a pack of Big Train Fit Frappe Mocha which makes 8oz of a drink. I was drinking it over a 20 minute time frame and before I could finish it I started getting extremely nauseous. To the point of almost having it come back up. Should I be drinking less at a time? Like 4oz over 30 mins? Thanks for your help :)

  6. Crab Cakes - Low carb' date=' with no crumbs!

Submitted by: JPTOWNSEND Introduction A pure, just crab, cake, held together with just a bit of egg and mayo Minutes to Prepare: 5 Minutes to Cook: 7 Number of Servings: 8

    Ingredients :

    Crab meat-canned -16 oz

    1 large fresh egg

Worcestershire Sauce, Lea & Perrins, 2 tsp Tabasco Sauce, 1 tsp

    Lime juice, 1 Tbsp

Pepper, red or cayenne, 1/4 tsp

    Tarragon, 1 tsp

Mayo, Smart Balance Omega 3, light, 3 Tbsp

Directions Mix egg, mayo and seasonings together. Gently stir in crab. Spray a foil covered cookie sheet with non stick spray, Scoop out 1/4 cup of the mix and dollop onto the cookie sheet. Broil for 7 minutes until browned on the high spots and egg has set. Number of Servings: 8

For those who are not eating very much you can do what I do and halve the recipe. I also use lump crab instead of claw meat.. Taste better!! I put some old bay in for extra kick and measure out the wet mixture in a 1 oz medicine cup so I have the perfect size crab cake with no measuring needed after baking! I make a cocktail sauce to go with it using horseradish and low sugar ketchup that only has 1g sugar.. I believe the crab cakes may have about 2g carbs. The recipe can also be found on sparkpeople.com[/quote']

    This sounds yummy!

  7. Thank you...I thought about you while I was in the hospital...and how positive you've been. All I did was cry and whine and occasionally vomit. My attitude was not as exemplary unfortunately. I am glad you are recovering well. Any regrets since you had some problems? I'm trying not to regret it' date=' but it sure. Is hard not to.[/quote']

You were not alone with the crying and whining and vomit! I sure had my times. I think I just also had a great set of doctors, surgeons, and nurses who all tried to keep my spirits up with their positive attitudes. Recovery is still day to day. I haven't started back on Vitamins, can't get all my fluids or Protein in yet, still have some pain from where my drain was, and sure not getting exercise in yet. Just trying to improve each day :) When I got out I didn't regret the surgery but I was having thoughts of what did I do to myself. After a few days of being home I started to feel much better about it. The hardest part is trying not to judge where I am in my journey on weight loss and what I can eat since I am still on full liquids against others who had surgery around the same time. I think the most important thing is to focus on your recovery of your health first vs the weight loss. The loss will come. Our health is most important. Take your recovery nice and slow. :)

  8. Thank you...home' date=' but still not great...wish I felt better. I had a tear 3 weeks post op that leaked into the retroperitoneal space. I was in with retroperitonitis for 2 weeks. I honestly thought I wasn't going to make it. I am hoping to at least get some sort of appetite back. Everything makes me want to hurl, but I'm on a butt load of antibiotics still so hoping that's some of it.[/quote']

Wow. I hope everything starts going better for you. I had almost the same thing happen except I was only one week post op. I also spent 16 days in the hospital. It's been slow going since getting out. Take it one day at a time. :)

  9. I had some bad complications from surgery that landed me back in the hospital for an additional two weeks. During that time I did have a few days that I became severely dehydrated. I was unable to keep anything in, including melted ice chips. The only way I was able to begin to keep things in was after a major iv Fluid push and asking nausea meds consistently. I had to reintroduce ice chips and Water by only 1oz at a time. I would take your dr/nurses advice and go get rehydrated. After I got rehydrated I wasn't throwing up as much and was able to start keeping fluid in. I also had the same type of clear/foamy throw up. :( good luck to you. I hope you are able to start getting your fluids in soon.
