  1. Oh my! What an inspiration! Good luck and let us know how it goes!!
  2. Congrats!! Job well done. It's an awesome feeling huh!? You are gorgeous by the way!
  3. Congrats my friend. You are looking so good!! I am with you in the heavy tata area! Even though they are now flabby, they still are heavy! Glad you are working through your stalls. This is something we will have to do forever. Our year(or so they say) of losing isn't up so keep it going!
  4. Realistically you can have a bite of cheesecake when you've had the bypass and wouldn't dump. I would take more than a bite to cause you to dump. I think that if you doubt you would be able to stop after one bite, you should go with the bypass. It gives you that mind control because you will NOT want to get sick. It is more restrictive definitely but if you have those food issues, especially with sweets and fried foods, it is the way to go. Your tastes will change and being physically unable to eat large amounts, so will your habits. It isn't always easy but so worth it. It becomes second nature, and thoughts of food don't control you anymore. Good luck!
  5. My surgeon wouldn't recommend which surgery to have. He simply would provide the facts and pros and cons. Then it was up to the patient to research has and decide. At times I wish he would've said "this is what we are going to do." But I really researched and made the decision that I felt was best for me..
  6. Wow that is definitely scarier than what I'm facing! Don't know what I would do in your case either. Don't know if 60% is enough against the risks. Sorry you are in the chronic pain boat with me!
  7. Trying to keep me comfortable by going back to the pain dr. Also gave me two pain meds. Kinda upset cuz I was off all narcotics for awhile. I had been on them so long it was a bit hard on me coming off. Now i am right back on the drug bus! I don't abuse but they still alter my brain! Oh well, I guess I'll be on them post op again. It is what it is. Am doing good mentally; just want this all over with! Thanks for your support and for caring. It help alot!!♥

    PROTEIN HELP PLEASE!

That sucks. I think it was $5. Keep checking, maybe they'll get it.
  9. You said your gallbladder was clear. What test did you have that showed this? I suffered with pain that sounded familiar to what you are describing. I had an ultrasound of the gallbladder that looked good and then a colonoscopy that looked good as well. I was sent on my way with no answers. I had continued pain for about 2 weeks and finally insisted something be done. My pcp scheduled a HIDA scan which showed the gallbladder was functioning at 9%! It came out days later and problem was solved. Did you have this test? If not, ask the dr. Good luck!

I'm trying to come to terms with the idea that...

Congrats! I can relate to some as well and it's an awesome feeling! It's nice to read a positive post!
  11. While you can't bank on dumping, the fear of it has helped me immensely! I am 10 months out today and I still am afraid to eat those things that can trigger dumping. This is why I chose gastric bypass. My son chose the sleeve because he didn't want to be so restricted. We have both been successful thus far. It is honestly a personal preference. Do your research and see what the best fit for you and your habits is. Good luck to you!

    PROTEIN HELP PLEASE!

    It's also at walmart.
  13. Hey all. Had my test and appointment yesterday. Am having some good pain today as well as a massive headache. Need to spend the day laying flat except for eating and toilet. Yay me! Found out that the spine is fusing nicely however the nerve is being fused right along with it! Will need another surgery in about 2-3 months. ; ( He will then take the hardware out and a big chunk of old arthritic bone as well. This will open up the way for the nerve to breathe and hopefully stop the pain. The fusion has to be strong enough to stand without the hardware; this is why the 2-3 month wait. In the meantime I have to see the pain management dr for an injection. The surgeon doubts he will be able to fit the injection where it needs to go because of the angle of the slippage but he wants me to try so I get some relief. Another long journey ahead but hopefully he thinks that will be the end of the pain. No work for me for a long while yet. On a great note; I weighed at 200.6 lbs today!!! So close to joining everyone in ONDERLAND! ! Happy weekend all!

    What ya eating tonight?

Wow. Will be looking for them today! Thanks!
  15. Hi April peeps. Tomorrow is my mylegram and follow up doctor appointment. Will find out what's going on with this leg pain and if I need more surgery. Am not looking forward to test but want to know the results. Supposed to have bad weather but hubby said we are going even if we have to crawl. Think he is tired of hearing me complain and moan at night. Poor guy! Weighed in at 202 today mostly due to needing to have bowels cleaned out for test. Oh well, I'll take it. 3 more until ONDERLAND!

    My 600lb life

I liked this one too. He was so positive and really tried to eat right and exercise. He was one that truly deserved the second chance.
  17. Didn't think that at all my friend! It is a real issue that many face after surgery! I tried to Google the issue and didn't really find anything helpful either. I wish some of the long term rny'ers would chime in. Maybe ask DL or post in another area cuz I'm interested. Now go and eat something!! Hugs!
  18. You are absolutely gorgeous! Congrats girl!

    I'm the new guy

Congrats on your surgery. I had mine on April 22, 2013 and am down 136 total. I have another 30 to lose but if that didn't happen, I'm ok with it. My son also had the sleeve in October so I understand the family dynamic. I wish you continued success! You will find alot of great people and advice on here! My advice would be to search out the January thread. That way you can talk to others who have had the surgery at the same time. It is nice to have the support of others going through the same things around the same times. My April friends were absolute LIFESAVERS! Good luck!
  21. Don't have that problem and probably won't ever. My starting weight was so much higher than most of you. I could lose 70 more to be where you are! God that sounds awful! I would talk to your nutritionist or maybe a more experienced rny'er will chime in. Could you add another Protein shake or two during the day? It would give you more calories. Good luck my friend!

    What ya eating tonight?

It is SO good! Wish I could share with ya all! Every time he makes it I have to take some to two former coworkers. I used to bring it for lunch and they loved it.
