    Pain?

Everyones pain tolerance is different. I had quite a bit until about three weeks post op, while others in my group had none. I even have a high tolerance! Call the surgeon and get relief. Nothing to be ashamed of!

    Left side pain...any help?

I had this same pain for about three weeks and it was frustrating. I called the doctor and was told that they used the biggest tool in the left side incision and did the most work with that tool so it would be more tender. This was also the only incision where my surgeon went through big muscle. I had the pain for about three weeks, and it was pretty severe, especially when moving from lying to sitting. Then one day it was just gone and I felt 100x better. Try a heating pad if your dr is ok with it. Good luck!

    8 days post op

It will get easier. The first few weeks are hard and such an emotional learning process. Hang in there because it DOES get easier and soon it will all be like second nature!
  6. Where are we able to get a copy of this brochure?

    Vitamin suppliers

I get everything I need from WalMart or walgreens. I used to order too but it is just easier and more economical this way. All of my blood work has been spot on so I know what I'm doing works! I take Flintstones with iron-2 a day, calcium citrate- 2 or 3 a day depending on how much milk I've drank, iron, and a b12 once a week. That's it.

    Frustrated and depressed

Call again and talk to someone else. If they expect you to pay upfront, they should be able to quote you the price. Keep calling until you get someone who knows wtf is going on! Don't give up;You need to be your own advocate! Good luck and keep us posted.

    What Happened

It is absolutely not it! You are only three weeks into this! You will go through MANY stalls. Stay positive and just keep following the program. It does get discouraging at times but hang in there!
  10. Yucky! Feel better soon!
  11. Wow keep me posted on what is going on! Thats some serious stuff but if you have a great trusted surgeon that can help, it may be worth it. Great job on the weight! I can't get to onderland for the life of me! Was 200.3 on Sunday and today was 203.4. I just don't get it and it's frustrating at hell! I know I'm retaining some water cuz I wake up puffy. Want to head out for a good walk but leg is hurting so bad today. Frustrating beyond belief but I keep hanging in there! Good luck April friends!! Love you all!
  12. Had an injection on Thursday. Still in pain but it takes some days for it to work, IF it is going to. Fingers crossed! Spent yesterday with my great nephews. They are now too heavy for me to carry around so I just rock and snuggle. Go back to the spine surgeon in three weeks for the next steps! Looking to plan a little vacation to see ajustice! I love my hubby!

You are a very lucky woman. I too have a great hubby! He has been there for me 120% big or smaller, and through all of my surgeries and pain, he has been a godsend!
  14. I would check with the dr about being put on gabapentin. It works for nerve pain. Probably won't help right away but for the long term it may. Until then, I agree that ice is the best. I have dealt with nerve pain in both legs for years so I know how you feel. Good luck!
  15. Oh my! Are you ever gonna just be well for awhile?? Hope you feel better real soon!
  16. I had my gallbladder removed before I had bypass. My pain was all on the right side, just under the ribcage. It was a constant aching, but when I ate it was a sharp pain that made me feel like I couldn't breathe! Some people get the pain into their back area too. Get it checked out if you aren't sure! My son waited and ended up in the hospital for days with a diseased yucky gallbladder!

    Bread/pasta question

I don't eat bread and have only had a small bit of pasta and I'm 10 months out. I just really don't like the way these things make me feel. I do however eat a piece of pizza every now and then. I won't give up everything!
  19. Thanks! Have an injection on Thursday. The pain management doctor thinks he will have to go up through the tailbone to reach in the spot due to the way the slip is. I will be sedated thank God!! If this doesn't work, there is nothing else except meds until the second surgery. So ready to get this over with! I wanna be back to normal!
