  1. Is anyone else in this funk mood that they seem they can not get out of. I have no desire to do anything or go anywhere. I just want to feel normal. I am tired of liquids (not hungry just want something more that liquid) and tired of feeling out of place. I should be going back to work soon and really don't think I am mental ready. Is anyone else going thru this.

  2. Starting to get anxious as my day is Friday. Not only about the surgery but also "leaving" my 2 year old for a couple of days while I'm in the hospital. The hospital is in a different city than where I'm from. I'm sure all will go well, but how do you explain to a 2 year old you can't pick them up. She will be very heart broken.

I understand how you are feeling. I will just like that one week ago. We have came up with "other ways" to get things done and for me not to pick her up. Yesterday was my first time after surgery going to pick her up from preschool. She ran up and was telling all her friends and teachers "look my mommy is better my mommy is better". This morning I woke her up just a few mins earlier than normal just so we could " cudle and snuggle:" in the recliner. (I made sure to put a pillow on my stomach just incase).

  3. So, I can officially say I'm starting to loose. I lost 16 pounds just on the pre-op diet, but I gained 10 in the hospital from all the fluids. I've finally lost that 10 plus 1.....so am I done just 1 lb? or 17? Either way, I'm down so I guess it doesn't matter. Yeah.....I'm told it only gets better from here....also, today is my last day of full liquids, start Puree stage tomorrow. Never thought I'd be so excited about putting cottage cheese in my mouth.

Yay for you getting to go to puree. I am on liquid for atleast another week. congrats on the weightloss. Getting started in the right direction.

  4. Hang in there May ladies (and gents)! My surgery was 4/9 and it wasn't a picnic. We are freaking our bodies out an they react in different ways. I have my energy back and start 'regular' food today. Even though i've been grumpy at times' date=', teary, frustrated and just plain tired, I would NOT change my mind about having this surgery. I am down 43 lbs and loving it! Hang in there and keep your eyes on your long range goals of a healthier life.[/quote']

    Thank you.

  8. Just wanted to give an update. It was a pretty rough morning, however; I'm feeling a little better this evening. The surgeon said he had to fix a hernia during the operation. I've walked and its ice chips, sips of Water & pain meds every 2 hours. Thanks for all the prayers. I'm on the losers bench!!!!

    Surgery date: May 14, 2013

Glad you are feeling better this evening.

  9. Greetings everyone!

  12. I am doing the same thing this weekend. My surgery is this Thursday. I think I am more nervous about not being home for my kids than I am for my surgery.

Me too. My oldest is 10 and he stays off with my parents all the time. However my 2 1/2 yr old has maybe stayed with them 5 to 6 times tops. I know they will be fine and I am so thankful my parents are willing to make sure the kids stay on they schedules and activities.
