    nauseous all the time

No, lemonade won't help, it has to be the actual lemon. Put a slice in your mouth and suck the juice out- it will be bitter but it should immediately take the nausea away

  5. Girl I am there with you. I feel like this everyday!! It's not that we don't appreciate this tool but it would be nice to have both. I am 7 weeks post op and I have bitter feelings about what I have done everyday. I broke down and got a caramel frappe at McDonald's and I took 3 drinks of it and threw it away but it felt so good to do that. Sometimes you just need to feel normal again. I am down 40 pounds and I am so thankful but my cravings are so hard to kick! We are human!! Hang in there hopefully it will get better! You are not alone!

    Dehydration/hydration

I would love to see what people are doing for this. I am 3 weeks out and my urine has been yellow ever since. I try but it's hard.

    pre-op testing?

Shasta - I'm sure they care but the more tests they put you through the more money in their pockets. They also put in the mix of your current health which might help determine how many tests are involved for each person.
  8. I was told I had a 6 month diet dr visits too. That wasn't good enough for me so I did my own research and contacted my ins co and got in writing what was required and on the requirements there was no specific amount of months required so I got everything else done that was required then I called the benefits specialist at my surgeons office and told her my findings and said I wanted them to submit now with all info. She did what I requested and I was approved in 1 day. I did 2 of the "required" doctor visits and I did not want to wait any longer. My ins is tricare standard north region. My bmi is 45 with hypertension. We have to be our own advocates and research and take charge! If this is just the surgeons office requirements - then you have the right to. Do some research and tell them what you want-at the end of the day they are a business first and the don't want to lose thousands of dollars. I believe this was a requirement for my surgeons office because they referred me to one of their doctors to see for the diet visits. Sorry so long
  9. Hello, I am new to the forum and needing advice. I have tricare standard north region. BMI is 45 and I have hypertension. My surgeons office indicated that I needed to go through a 6 month doctor supervised diet to get approval which was fine but tricare has denied to pay for these visits. They cost $165 each month and I cannot afford to pay this out of pocket. My question is this- why can't my surgeons office just submit my paperwork for approval without these 6 months of doctor visits? I have all of the other tests completed for approval. Are these doctor visits for the surgeons or is it a real requirement for tricare standard? I am wanting to call my surgeons office and tell them to go ahead and submit what I have now. Any suggestions or thoughts? Has anyone else had this issue? Please advise Tracy
