    APPROVED!

It took me 3 weeks to get approved. I was denied first and I heard from that in about a week and a half. Then I immediately submitted an appeal and then I was approved. I had surgery on the 26th of November.

    November surgeries?

Hey friends... Sorry it took so long for a reply but I've felt like I've been hit by a semi. There were complications with my surgery. They weren't able to intubate me or use their balloon down my throat to create the pouch. They said that 2 nurse anesthetist and an anesthesiologist both tried and no one was able. They had to to do an internal approach to create the pouch and also fixed a hiatal hernia. I'm just in so much pain. I was able to pass gas. Lol. Still no BM. TMI. I had a moment yesterday. I was asking myself, "What did I just do". I was really regretting it. I'm sure it will pass.

    November surgeries?

And thanks Linds. You said the diet wouldn't be that bad. I can honestly say that it hasn't been that hard at all.

    November surgeries?

I'm sooooo excited! I know I'm not gonna be able to sleep. I feel like a kid waiting for Santa. Lol What time's your surgery?

    November surgeries?

I seriously can't believe my surgery is tomorrow. The nerves.... The excitement definitely outweighs the nerves.

    Frustrated!

You can call your insurance company as many times as you want, just to see how far the process is and when it was actually submitted. I don't have BCBS but hope this helps.
  7. 4 days.... wow time flew by!

    Buyer's Remorse?

Hey man, I'm a registered sleep technologist, like one of the people that did your other studies. From my experience, people that undergo wls 90% of the time will come off of their Cpap. The only time that they wouldn't is if there are other reasons that are causing their sleep apnea or if they don't have a drive to breath(central sleep apnea). After you hit a healthy bmi, I would suggest scheduling another study. Ask for a split night study...if you do need Cpap still it's likely that your pressure will be a lot lower and they can test you on a lower pressure that night.
  10. Thank you ladies! If it's not one thing it's another.
  11. Just my luck. Lastnight I noticed that my throat was getting very scratchy. Tonight when I woke up before coming to work I noticed that my throat was hurting terribly and my nose is stuffy. WTH?!?!? Hope this doesn't effect my surgery.
  12. One thing that my sister does when our family goes to Olive Garden is order a Chicken Ceaser Salad but sub the chicken for Salmon. I tried it and it's delicious.
  13. 9 days til surgery- Currently starving! This liquid diet is no joke!

My bariatric practice puts everyone on the presurgery diet as soon as they get past the initial info stage. they ask most folks to lose 10% of their weight so I been living on protein shakes awhile. I was starving and you are right, the liquid diet is no joke. I had hunger headaches, my stomach growled. and then I had a prescheduled NUT meeting to talk post-surgery food and I told her I was ravenous all the time and she told me to add a little more carbs, like 1/4 cup frozen berries in one sh...

My surgeons pre-op was for 2 weeks. I was so afraid that I would fail at not losing the 6 pounds she required of me to lose by my surgery date, that I made myself start the pre-op diet a week early. Not to mention an additional 2 weeks full liquids for the first 2 weeks after my surgery, then 2 weeks of full liquids, then 2 weeks of mushies. For a total of 9 weeks of liquids/mushies. I survived, maybe even a little stronger and confident cause after your wls you have to readjust your behavior...
